First of all, I understand that reviews are subjective and no two people have the same foot. With that said, let me start off by saying I've tried almost EVERY pair of quality hiking shoes and boots. I'm talking ALL of them....I've returned a lot of shoes...You name it, I can give you a comparison...From Zamberland, Scarpa, Salomon, Oboz, Garmont, La Sportiva, Merrell, Keen, Lowa.....Just trust me, I've tried 90% of the these brands models.
With that said, how anyone can state this shoe fits narrow is beyond my comprehension - again coming from someone who's tried them all....
This shoe in no way, shape or form is narrow. An argument could be made in wanting more toe room, but there is plenty, and the fact that it runs large helps. This shoe is leather, which means over time it will shape to your foot. The fit of the 103 is meant to have extra room and more volume. This is a fact - check Zamberland fit categories. This shoe fits 1/2 - 1 size large. The second you get the shoe, and put your foot into it, you will notice how much room it is. I was almost swimming in mine, and a bit concerned, but after tightening the laces, this shoe had become the single greatest feeling shoe I've ever placed on my foot. No odd pressure anywhere. On top of that, the minimalist looks are awesome.
I compared the size 10 to the 10H, and the difference is minimal. Roughly a quarter of an inch length difference. Both sizes would work, but I kept the larger fit for those nasty hikes down the mountain.
Again, this shoe is specifically made to accommodate a large variety of feet. The laces allow you to release pressure at any point. Lacing technique is paramount, and most amateurs overlook the power of lacing.
I also can not wrap my head around people who give a shoe poor ratings (anything less than 5) based on their foot being the issue, and not the shoe. Common-sense dictates that your foot is the issue and it's impossible for manufactures to accommodate the billions of foot shapes....
The build quality of this shoe is superior to most brands. No glue popping out anywhere...strong and supportive materials and stitching...You see a review with less than 5 stars, you might as well ignore that. Then again, I'm just a nobody to anyone reading this...

I wear an 11 to 11.5 in US sizes depending on the type and brand of shoe. Typically an 11 in lighter shoes and an 11.5 to accommodate heavy socks in serious hiking boot. I used the size charts on Zamberlan's website for this specific last design, rounding up slightly on my measurements and came in at size 10, which fit perfectly.

Don’t waste your time on other, lesser shoes. Buy these Zamberlan Hike Lites and enjoy all day/night comfort and great quality.

Top notch Italian style, quality and craftsmanship (although this particular model is made/assembled in Romania). These light hikers are awesome! The Vibram sole is epic and substantial, feels really steady and grippy. They have this sort of rocker effect where it kind of feels like they're walking for you. I'm a devoted Zamberlan fan, all of their boots are amazing. My one complaint are their lasts...the fits are amazing...but they all seem to be different sizes so you will inevitably be sending them back for exchanges. This particular last runs a full size larger. I have 20 pairs of shoes/boots in my closet and they're all size 10. I wear a 9 in these. For the Vioz 996 I'm a 9 1/2. Go figure. Overall though, once you find your fit, you're not going to find a better built, more functional, or more stylish boot/hiker. As soon as you put them on you can't go back.

It is late February and I plan on wearing these shoes in......so to speak.......in order to use them as an alternative to hiking boots this summer in the Swiss Mountains. We will just be doing day hikes with light backpacks ranging from 2-12 miles of hiking per day. Therefore I can only write about the fit and current feel of the shoes:
I am normally either a 10.5 or 11 size shoe depending on the brand and shoe type. I purchased a 10.5 in the Zamberlin Hike Lite RR's and they were too big. I even pulled the laces tight (way to tight and narrow) and they were simply too big. I returned them and purchased a 10 and the 10's fit perfect and snug without needing to tighten the laces really that much at all. So we are talking 1/2 to 1 size smaller. I have NO other shoes in my closet that are a 10 (and I have about 15 pairs of different types of shoes) so these truly run just a bit larger.
So far I have walked 3 miles and 8 miles and both distances felt real comfortable and the shoe's sole and support is nice. I am planning on bringing a lightweight but very effective ankle bracelet with me on my summer hikes because I did break my ankle last summer (freak accident on a swing) and am looking for good stability. I have ready articles that say it might be better to choose a lighter and nice trail shoe and an ankle bracelet versus hiking boots so we shall see. My luggage weight and room will be happy for sure.
I'd also recommend:
Oboz, Nike Trail Runners and of course Zamberlan

As these shoes are full leather, it has taken a couple of weeks to break them in. Now, they are very comfortable to wear and I am glad I made the purchase. My last two pairs of hiking shoes, which I wear daily for my work in and out of warehouses, on solar PV jobs and office work were Merrill’s and I usually get a wide. These were wider than most other shoes as a standard width and have fit well. There is not as much cushion in the sole like the Merrill’s and are quite hard- I first thought this might be a problem, but they have been fantastic and now a couple of weeks in I don’t notice the difference at all. The vibram soles seem to be softer than the ones on the Merrill’s and am curious to see how long they wear.

The Zamberlan Hike Lite is the best pair of shoes I have ever owned for daily activity. The shoes fit well, are very comfortable, and the materials and workmanship are top-notch. Also, they easily accommodate my orthotic. The large number of lacing holes enables you to create the right amount of snugness along your entire foot. I'm not a shoe fanatic, I just look for something practical. My wife, on the other hand, IS a shoe aficionado, and these shoes are stylish enough to make her happy. It's a win-win. I will likely buy another pair when these wear out.
The only issue I had is it was difficult to find replacement laces when the original ones wore out.

Well made and the most comfortable shoes I've tried on in a long time. Worth taking a look at.

My husband liked the fit of these so much, he ordered another one to keep in the closet in case they stop making them. Very comfortable and well made, though perhaps not the most attractive shoes in the world.

I usually order a 10 1/2 but reviews said they ran a little big so I ordered a 10.
They fit perfect! right out of the box, wore them all day, forgot I had them on,
a bit pricey but when you get a shoe that fits really well it is worth it!

Zamberlan makes a very comfortable shoe. I've worn their boots for years. Bought my first pair Elk hunting out West. Most all the high country outfitters carry them. Nobody else knows what they are. Anyway, this shoe is a great casual shoe and I walked a moderate trail this morning without a pack in them. Light but very strong through the ankle and the arch. Like I say, the shoe has "bottom" and supports and protects well against rocks and roots.

Usually I love Zamberlans but these seem to be lacking in comfort. The lining could be more comfortable. I bet the Gore-Tex version is a better shoe but they don't sell it here in the U.S.
