Purchased as a gift for someone else and they loved it too. Very utilitarian, not flashy, and has a nice profile. Fits a 13" laptop along with other items easily. Would definitely buy one for myself too if I needed a messenger bag

This is my second Timbuk2 bag. My first one (a backpack) is about 5 years old and in near perfect condition after almost daily use. When I bought this messenger bag, I had to replace it with a larger size (initially bought a small and exchanged for a medium size), and Timbuk2 was great about the return & exchange process. So far, I've been really pleased with the messenger bag! Good size, well made, and the color is as pictured.

This was a present for me. It is a perfect bag but I was disappointed in the color. Luckily, my nurse daughter loves it for work, so its a win!

I bought this bag for my girlfriend to use as a work bag. She works 2 jobs and sometimes doesn't get to come home in between. She loves it! It's small but mighty. I want one now myself.

This is my second timbuk2 purchase my first bag wouldn't fit my new larger iPad and school is getting more serious so I needed a step up and wanted something I knew i could trust , great bag holds and organizes everything and keeps it dry on a motorcycle in the rain, very well thought out and tough as nails which is why when after 6 years of waiting on a kidney transplant and the call finally came I knew there was only one bag I needed for this adventure , my trusty companion messenger bag ! A few school items were replaced with long term hospital stay things like slippers and medications and a week after surgery today we are going home! Get this bag ! It is up to anything life can throw at you i won't ever buy from anywhere but timbuk2 they just get it .

Backpacks are nice for heavy loads but shoulder bags are more convenient. The problem is they swing around when you bend over. The cross strap on the messenger bag works great to prevent movement. If I am going to cycle with the bag or carrying it longer distances I use the cross strap. For shorter carries I tuck the longer strap into the bag and leave the flap clips undone as the velcro keeps the flap shut regardless of how full the bag is. There are a lot of pockets, but they are not intrusive and the bag can be loaded as one large open sack because the divider can be flush against the back. The shoulder strap is comfortable with moderate weight I have carried so far. This size should be perfect for under the seat on airplanes. Overall just really well thought out design.

My other messenger bag is a 15 year old Timbuk2 Commute. Nothing's wrong with it, I just needed another, slightly smaller one. And this bag did not disappoint. It's perfect!

What I love about Timbuk2's products aside from the durability and variety, it's their range of sizes. I'm a very short guy (5' on a good day) and most bags of standard size are just too big for me, they make me look smaller. I struggled for a long time finding a quality messenger bag that wouldn't throw off my proportions and I found it here. The XS sizing options available on Timbuk2 are perfect for allowing me to have a quality product in a more appropriate size without sacrificing any of the functionality.

I use my messenger bag mainly for school. It easily holds my 15" laptop , water bottle, notebooks , etc. It's a lot less bulky than the backpack I used to use and it looks great. I've gotten quite a few compliments on it!

This little bag is great! I had a larger laptop bag for over a decade and, when it finally started to wear out, I thought it would be nice to down size a bit. Super happy with this bag--it's big enough for my MacBook Pro and iPad + anything else I need to bring with me to work, but small enough that it doesn't weigh me down or get in the way.

I absolutely adore my Timbuk2 bag. I've been a Timbuk2 user for over 15 years and continue to love their products. I had a newer small messenger bag I got a few years ago that is perfect in every way but needed an upgrade for a somewhat larger bag for days I need to carry extra stuff around. The quality is so great, the practicality of the pockets is great, it really perfectly fits my needs. My one complaint I've had for years is that the standard messenger bags come with a pad that's optimal for right shoulder wearers and I'm a left shoulder wearer. This means my collarbone gets a little too much love from the buckle which is occasionally uncomfortable. If this is too much of a concern for you you can order the customized bag with a left shoulder cushion!

Great bag. Replaced a leather bag I had for about 10 years and I already like this one better.

I love it. I am 5'4", 124 lbs. The size XS fits me perfectly as a travel bag. Size S is too bulky on me. I also own another one in the micro size for when I don't need to carry much. They are light, durable, nice looking. I probably will come back for other color.

We are using this product for international travel as a carry around bag. We used to have a very old Timbuk2 that finally wore out and decided to go with the updated version. We really like the upgrades that have been made, and the only thing we wish it had was an internal zipper compartment. Other than that, we may even buy a size small to travel with.

I was given one of these as a gift years ago (in an olive green and mustard), and when it started looking too scruffy, I finally broke down and ordered a new one in a nice cranberry red color. It is the BEST! Sturdy, lots of nooks but not so many that it's confusing, great structure but still pliable enough to fit into compact areas. It is casual and outdoorsy - perfect for bicycle commuting - yet versatile enough to look decent in professional settings. My only complaint is that the tip of the zipper on the outer pocket gets stuck in the velcro, and over time it frays and shreds. I was also unable to clean out the velcro after several years of use, so it just looked gross. But overall, this is my ideal messenger bag!

I use my new bag fro work, Mostly bringing my lunch and some drinks. I also take advantage of the pockets and compartments for gloves and hats and other cold weather stuff. It is a great size and expands for bigger items. I like the the adjustable straps and velcro closer!

I split time working from home and in-office each week so I needed something that could carry all my work essentials. I tried a variety of different messenger bags and every one fell short of what I needed until I came across Timbuk2. The bag was exactly what I needed and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to any of my friends or colleagues and I would definitely buy it again.
