I really like the bag, and I would recommend it to anyone. The only thing I had a problem with is the strap length. I am a huskier guy and because of that the strap isn't as comfortable. It is really close to my body, but I love the space and everything within the bag. I went with the large, I would say a medium is big enough, sometimes the large is just too much

I love this andbI used it for a purse for travel. However - the velcro on the front flap is substantial and very loud when opening. I wouldn’t recommend if you need to get in and out of it a lot. The velcro and snaps are a hassle in everyday situations. Love the look tho and worth the hassle when I need security and over the top closure.

This is a messenger bag, not a bag you want to use as a purse. I love the sturdiness and features of the bag with the inside cupholder etc, but the strap, for a messenger bag, is too short to wear cross body and it has this thick pad in one part like the old computer bags did. So, my bad, this bag is perfect for what it was designed for, but not as a sporty and functional woman's purse. The red color is very dark, not bright red like in the photos. And the velcro is crazy and obnoxiously loud. What a silly design. Even for its intended purposes, why would you ever want to have such obnoxious velcro??

The bag itself is great - very roomy (I upgraded from a M to a L bag). the ONLY complaint I have is that the shoulder strap can't be adjusted to my body as the padded strap is in the way. I may be too petite for it but I am making it work. If my bag is fuller (like winter time, with more bulky clothes) it won't be a problem.

This bag is the perfect everyday messenger bag for work. I love that it has an interior pouch for water bottles and a laptop divider. My main complaint is that the strap adjuster opens so easily. I've only had the bag a couple weeks, but when I'm wearing it, the tab often opens and the strap immediately slides out long and the bag drops down too low. I bought this bag as a long-term investment, but I'm worried this piece will not hold out as long as it should. Otherwise, a very nice, staple bag.

I have the size XS bag which can hold my tablet and most of what I need. My older bag has more storage areas and flaps to close them. The interior feels smaller and I can't carry the amount I could before. What I really like is that it's lighter and the straps and buckles are not industrial materials like on the old bag. I should have gotten a size S, but I needed it right away for a trip. Still a good bag.

It's a nice size for carrying my laptop (MacBook Air) and I like the bag a lot. But I'd love to see some improvements/changes: a light-colored interior to make it easier to find things, a zipper across the top, and no Velcro. It's impossible to open Velcro quietly in the middle of a meeting!

So I needed a lot of space. And I mean a lot. As a senior in high school, I needed to be able to carry around 4, 2-inch binders, a 15-inch laptop, and 2 textbooks a day. I've found that large messenger bag is a physical anomaly. I can carry all of this, with space to spare, without worry of something snapping off, ripping, or tearing. This being said, the fifty-million sleeves, pockets, and zipper-pouches also insure that I don't lose anything I value in this bottomless abyss. But of course, this bag isn't perfect. The only thing I can honestly say I hate, is the velcro. When I say the velcro is loud, I mean it sounds like someone is crushing up a bag of tortilla chips every time I open the bag. It gets me nasty looks on a regular basis, and is almost as annoying as the sound of binder rings snapping into place. Another complaint I have is that the flap is quite small, and doesn't reach the end of the bag when it's empty, much less completely stuffed. It isn't a big issue, however, it does make carrying it look a but awkward. My only other complaint is that I bought this item on sale, thus, it didn't come with a shoulder strap. It said this in the description (which I never read), however, and straps can be bought for $15. All in all, I love this bag, and would completely recommend, and buy again.

It's not bad. It's very comfortable to ware all day but Is difficult to get in and out of when the bag is being warn. the straps at the bottom are a constraint problem. I'm considering removing them. They either dangle a lot or if the bag is buckled you you have to take it off and stretch it back out to take anything larger than a cell phone out. I have several Timbuk2 bags. This is the first one I'm not excited to show everyone how cool it is. I got it because of an upcoming trip. The plain said my Timbuk2 Spire was too big to be a personal item and wound have to be checked for a very large fee. I've had the spire for 3 years and been to several countries with it. It's fantastic. So I got this due to the size. I got a M. If I was riding my bike to work at at office every day, this is a fantastic bag. I've been using it more as a briefcase constantly adding and removing things and it's not as awesome.

I really do like this bag, but I would change it a bit. The website said something like "and of course you can just design your own", but I never found that choice when selecting this bag. The colors on this choice were close enough, and I do like it. It's lightweight, and I've already had some things spill inside, but it contains well and it wipes out easily. My big issue is that once I've put my coffee cup inside (love the end pockets), and a container with my lunch, the bag just doesn't close that well. About half the front is exposed and it looks lumpy. What I liked about this bag was it was both sporty and professional. The disruption to the look kind of subtracts from that, but I'm going to keep using it, because it's an improvement over my Chrome bag that I used for about 5 years.

Love the size of this bag. I have the medium and can carry a water bottle, glasses case, gym clothes and food to work. I sometimes bike to work and the bag sits perfectly. The material is great and looks like it should last a long time. Storage in the bag is good enough for me. Not overly complicated. The water bottle holders are a little snug which makes it hard to throw your bottle in. Usually takes two hands. The napolean is great on the outside but also is my major complaint. Why not have the key lanyard in this picket? Leaving the house and locking the door I then have to unvelcro the front to store the keys. A simple design flaw that takes it down a star. Shipping is never the fastest but overall I do like the quality of timbuk2 bags and think this size is perfect for my commute.

Love the bag. Design. Fit. Style. Strap comfort. Only thing difficult is locking the tab, at least for me. With the weight of two laptops inside it was a bit of a struggle to hold the strap to the length I wanted and get the lock to hold tight. It wanted to slide back to max length on me. Otherwise, love it. And it holds TWO laptops!!!

Overall solid bag. My previous laptop bag broke a buckle and I was looking to replace it. Very streamlined with just enough pockets for functionality but not too many that the bag gets weighed down. Only complaints are that the way i wear it over my right shoulder the easy adjust strap is behind me. Also I am using it with a 15 in laptop and it fits in the appropriate pouch, but is a little tight. An extra 1/4 inch would have made it snug but easier to get in and out.

Admittedly, I've been looking for the perfect replacement cross-body bag for a while and thought the XS Messenger could be it if I was willing to shell out the money. I did, and it's a great little bag, BUT the strap is too short, even at its longest, to allow the bag to sit on my hip. Why? No idea. It's adjustable, but only if you want it shorter. Was this designed for a kid? Why can't it function as a cross-body? I'm probably going to keep it and try wearing it across my back instead. If that doesn't work, I'll cut the strap and piece in another segment to length it. Only because I got it at a discount. Full-price I'd be returning it. I wouldn't recommend it for someone looking to wear it any way but messenger-bag style. I'm giving it 4 stars because in other respects I really like it.

I originally bought the small and immediately knew it was too small. I returned it and purchased the larger size. It's just right. The bag has lots of compartments and a water bottle holder. Really love it.

I really like the size of the bag but I feel that the description for the bag was a bit misleading. By looking at the product description I thought that the size I purchased (small) had a water bottle holder on the outside of the bag because it was listed as so. This particular size only has bottle holders inside the bag. The only issue here is that my glass water bottle is too tall to be upright inside the bag. So I'm currently on the hunt for a smaller glass water bottle which is a compromise because I drink a lot of water. Also the Velcro to secure the bag closed is very loud so if you are walking into a quiet meeting or class make sure you open the bag before entering. I was looking for a smaller bag so in that regard I am happy with this model.

High quality bag, comes exactly as advertised. Was a little bigger than I thought as I ordered the Medium and it can almost fit two of my textbooks side by side but I can make due with the larger sized as it is somewhat adjustable. The low profile handle is a little odd being on the side so that when I lift the bag it leans far forward. With the pocket you can access while the bag is closed; if you have a couple things in it (such as a wallet and phone, or one large wallet) it makes the pocket on the top/outside (the one with no zipper) spill it's contents occasionally. Still highly recommend this bag, especially if it is on sale.

This is a great bag so far--haven't had a chance to really put it through the ringer, but it seems like it will hold up. I really like the size (small) as it keeps me from overstuffing with books/etc. and makes it much more easy to keep everything organized. I can fit my 13 inch laptop, a couple of folders, my to-go mug and maybe 2-3 books. The only thing that disappoints me about this bag--hence the 4 stars rather than 5--is that the bag is made in vietnam. I had purchased a custom bag from timbuk2 years ago and it had the "made in san francisco" tag, which I appreciated since it helps workers here and abroad by keeping working standards elevated globally. Especially for the price it seems like they should have all of their manufacturing done in the US, and I assumed that this bag would also be made domestically.

I love my bag, I really do. Colors representing the German flag which I got a great deal on Black Friday. Some minor nitpicks about the bag. I wish there was at least one outside mesh pocket for an umbrella or water bottle. It would be nice if there was one more pocket inside. And last, I know this is common for messenger bags to have the straps flying around when the top is velcroed down, but it would be nice for some system to tack then up or disconnect them, whatever, to clean up the look. Otherwise a fantastic bag that I hope lasts for years.

Love the bag. Meets expectations. My ONLY criticism is that I wish the shoulder strap were 2" longer. I'm 6' tall and would find it more comfortable if it hung a bit lower on the back when carried over the shoulder. Other than that, great bag.

I love the bag but would probably have bought the small if I had to do it over again. It's a great size for travel but maybe a little big for every day but my iPad fits in nicely. Red is my signature color and it is a vibrant red. My only complaint is that the straps hang down so low at the bottom but overall I am really pleased.

This bag is well made and very attractive. The color is great (I got the yellow) and I hope it will last as long as my last timbuk2. With such an expensive bag I never expected to have an issue. My main complaint is that the straps and pockets are clearly designed only for a right handed person. With everything else that can be customized, why could a left handed design not be an option? Or why could this bag not be designed ambidextrously? As a left hander I wear the bag over my right shoulder and under my left arm. Specifically, the padded strap is curved so that it awkwardly curves away from my body instead of towards it. Why does the padded piece need to be curved at all? The quick release buckle ends up on my back where it is inaccessible for tightening on the go as intended and occasionally bumps into something and comes undone. The buckle should fasten more securely. Why could the buckle not be on both ends of the strap? Then I could cinch the strap up as tight as I really need it. Or let people pick to have the buckle on the other side of the strap. The easy access pocket zips from the right side so that I have to swing the whole bag around to the front of me in order to assess it. Why couldn't it zip from both sides? Or let people pick the option to have it on the left side. All of these things add up to an irksome experience. Had I realized it would be like this I may have made another choice. I wish I had known in advance!
