Very long time, very happy customer. I have a 2004/5 MD custom messenger, a 2015/6 custom Eula and custom laptop sleeve, a 2016/7 reversible tote, and a 2008 small classic messenger. I get more use from those items than the more upscale leather goods I've accumulated over the years and find they are more to my taste-- especially the custom messengers. They've got character, they're tough, well made and well designed, and easy to take care of. Also? The warranty on these bags is SICK. My 2008 bag's liner was coming apart in shards, so I reached out to see what could be done and filed a claim. The repair dept folks were really lovely. I hated the idea of shipping my favorite bag off and not having it over the holidays, so I held onto it until the bitter end of the claim window and finally sent it off, figuring I'd not see it again for a few months. Could not be happier to be wrong! I shipped it off before I went out of town at the end of December and I got it back early/mid-January. The liner was replaced and the work was pretty good. Best of all (for me) it was done at no cost other than the flat rate box it took to send it off to Cali. So yeah, I am a loyal customer and will continue to be so. Noticing a lack of prints and new colors in the custom section and hope it's just down to supply chain issues and not because of a shift toward utilitarian black. One of the reasons I was drawn to Timbuk2 in the first place is that I saw cyclists in Boston wearing brightly colored messengers. I like that I can create something that's unique-- each of the custom pieces I have stands out and looks good, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back to the brand. (Also PLEASE bring back the Eula. And laptop sleeves. Thank you for reading!)

My father in law got it for me as a present for my very first job--and it's accompanied me on countless business and leisure trips. Over the last year, the waterproof liner started to fray--and the repair team did an absolutely beautiful job of restoring it. I wouldn't be surprised for it to last another 10 years!

My wife bought this bag for me when I was bike commuting in 2004. Alas, no longer riding to work due to distance, but this bag has accompanied me to work and traveled all over the world since then. Very well made, durable, and loads of storage and pockets. Unfortunately, the inner waterproof liner is starting to degrade/flake, so it will be retired to a domestic life as a tool bag, and a new version will be purchased soon! Thanks for making a wonderful, durable product! I've recommended this to several friends who have purchased their own, and everyone is satisfied with the quality and design of their bags!

I have two - an XL (which I don't see on the site anymore? Or maybe it's just a large ) and a medium. I prefer the XL just b/c i've been able to use it for so many things, including work trips. I usually want to carry more stuff with me than the medium will hold as well. Have had my XL for over 10 years and travelled all over the world with mine on work trips. Love that they're waterproof - the XL works as a great carryon or secondary bag when traveling (it holds just as much stuff as my hardshell carryon), is super practical on overseas work trips (even to developing countries b/c it's waterproof). The rubber on the inside is peeling and cracking now from all the use I've put it through, but has definitely been a great investment. I do wish that its interior organisation was better - the single inside pouch just isn't big enough, and the main pouch kind of becomes a disorganized dumping ground of things. But at least I know it's all in there (if I can find it) and it won't get wet. Great bag though - would buy again in spite of the high price tag just b/c you know it will last so long. I bought my medium about 15 years ago and that's held up well as well, although the zipper for the small pouch broke about 7 years ago, which is a bit annoying. But i've used the bag anyway and it's still in pretty good shape. Next time would probably buy a Larger bag, or one with better organization for daily commuting/teleworking.

This old girl refuses to age,,,,much less die. I had her custom made at an outdoor trade show in Salt Lake City 20 years ago and use this bag almost every day. For years I traveled internationally and it was my regular carry-on. I use it endlessly for local bicycling and even longer trips. AND,,,,,it is the best beach bag ever! Hardly looks the worse for wear. The extra-fun feature on this puppy is the matching turn-of-the-century cell phone holder,,,,,,approx 2" x 5" for the old old old style phones. People laugh when they see it. Now I use it to hold my bicycle GPS. Rain, snow, mud, sunshine,,,,these bags just last !!!! If you quit making them, I wouldn't take $1,000 for this jewel !

Unusual review but I had to say something. I've had the classic messenger bag for 4 years as my work bag. It had no wear until today. I was in a motorcycle accident wearing this bag. I slid directly on the bag at 30mph. If I hadn't been wearing the bag I'd have lost most of the skin on my back! The bag is barely scuffed. All straps are intact and it stayed securely closed. I will continue to use the bag and my next bag of any kind will be another Timbuk2.

Have a Dee Dog from the early 90s. Still going strong. Not as fancy as the newer ones (no compartments) but super functional. Bought a purse (shoulder bag) in 2011 that I have carried every day for the last 10 years and it's still perfect. Timbuk 2 is one of the most reliable brands I've encountered. I may need to upgrade to something I can carry my laptop in.

I initially bought my first and only TIMBUK2 in ny city, and it is beyond incredible. I've been wearing and carrying it for 18 months, I'd carried it for traveling a lot of cities, and I really love it. The best choice you will make is to buy this smokey bag.

Hello from Quezon City, Philippines. I ordered my Classic Messenger bag online and had it delivered to my sister who lives in California. I received it this morning and the bag does not disappoint. It is well crafted. This is going to be my everyday "go to" bag.

I was given a medium messenger bag by on of my sons. I promptly began using it 4-5 days/week for my work commute. Large enough for clothes and sundries. Short 7 mile commute, but the bag was invaluable. Also was able to put a bright tail light on it for redundancy with my bicycle tail light, but at a better angle for drivers. Eventually I purchased a large and small for other uses. This bag can't wear out. Pros: Highly water resistant. Commuting in rain is ok! Tab for tail light to alert drivers early morning or late evening. Compartments for sundries. Outside zipper pocket for rapid access to keys, security cards, etc. Long lasting enough that my heirs will find it useful! Great for air travel as a carry-on. Cons: (empty list)

I bought my Medium Classic Messenger Bag in SF in 1994, I think, it may have been '93. This bag has been my EDC for 26 years. It has been to 37 states 14 countries and on my back on a motorcycle that entire time. I have used it for work, for recreation, and a lot of travel. It is the perfect overnight bag (I can get 3 days out of it), the perfect briefcase, perfect gun range bag. I have even adapted it to carry my Camelbak water bladder. It is the MOST durable, convenient, well organized bag EVER! I'm a true believer in buying quality. Timbuk2 far exceeded my expectations. I am writing this, because I am thinking about buying a new one. I don't really need it because my original one is still so great, but doesn't have as much organizational pockets as a new one. I cannot gush enough about this product. If I were you and I was considering this purchase... I would tell you - BUY ONE! NOW!!!!

I was looking for a simple day bag to hold my office gear. I like to change up between my TB2 backpack and the Messenger. The Messenger hangs lower and gives my back a break, and I have a tendency to overstuff my backpack with everything for multi-day use. The small Classic Messenger Bag in black was just the ticket. I'm able to fit my MacBook Pro, iPad, and Surface in the bag, plus a few notebooks and a couple of snacks.

I carried many items in a miniature style grocery bag. How embarrassing! Now I walk with pride. My Timbuk2 bag is perfect. Nice color scheme, velcro for easy fastening, clips for extra security and a strap for easy no hands carrying. Now my wife wants one!!

The M messenger bag is awesome. Great quality and larger than expected. I can easily fit my laptop and numerous legal sized files. I do wish it had a 'bottom' that allowed it to stand up better.

This is the second Timbuk2 classic messenger bag i have purchased. My first one was a medium blue one; this one is a small in the Altitude color. It is absolutely perfect! Perfect size, carries all that i need plus knitting, kindle and a water bottle. Perfect color(s), a bit more subdued than the blue bag, but a bit more professional. I feel i can carry this bag into any meeting. Very pleased with the new bag!

Great smaller version of the Timbuk2 I already own. This one is my "office" Timbuk2 and the other one is now my "outdoor/boat" Timbuk2.

I use this bag everyday to and from work. This is my second Timbuk2 bag. The only reason I had to replace my last one (after 8 years) is because it had gas spilled on it and I couldn't get the smell out. These bags are awesome and will last a long time.
