You can fit quite a bit in here but it's still compact.

I go to my clients with my full kit of tools and this bag holds them all. I have been looking for a bag that had the strap over the water bottle back because i use this for the trace roll and it holds it in tight. I have a large laptop that wont fit in the provided slots but fits fine in the main compartment. No bag ever has enough pencil/pen slots so I have a separate bag for them which is easier anyway. The bag is slim so I cannot take too much stuff but that keeps down bloat. The bottle opener is a great touch since a lot of design meetings require beers.
Overall VERY happy with this bag! Thanks!

I love this bag! I needed a bag for work and this one fit the bill. I was shocked at the price, so was one of my coworkers who cast covetous eyes at it. I only wish it could have been customized, I have four messenger bags from Timbuk2 that are all customized, I like bright colors too.

I use this backpack as a daily backpack and for school. I enjoy how this bag is slim and doesn't look bulky when all my essentials are inside. Made with great quality as well. Very happy with my purchase.

This bag is a great solution for EDC when you need a spacious main compartment for gear paired with subtle pockets and options for the little things.
I tend to carry a laptop, some paperwork, a water bottle, a snack and 2-3 notebooks of various sizes. Add in my wireless headphones and a few daily exceptions and it can be unwieldy in the wrong bag. The Armory eats it all like a black hole and still fits snugly to the back for staying mobile in tight quarters.
I've had this bag for a couple weeks and have already taken it in a few day trips and a weekend of travel. It met and exceeded all my expectations!

I love this bag. It holds a surprising amount of stuff. When I got it, it was smaller than I expected, but after using it for a while, I found that it worked well and is so organized. I would love for it to be 2" deeper, but I really have no complaints. It's very comfortable, very high quality and well built. I just love it.

I carry my laptop and some books in this pack daily. It is the perfect size for the city and it is sleek! I really like the unique style opening and LOVE the water bottle strap, it allows me to basically snug my 24 oz. Hydroflask up to the bag and eliminates any worry of my tall water bottle bouncing or falling out, great feature!

This is a perfect daily commuter bag! The side bottle holder, the top load style, the front flip down pouch, its got all the great features! It might be a tad tight for a weekend trip, but I'll be testing that out soon.

I was looking for a new bag to replace my 5 years old backpack. I owned a Timbuk2 Medium Classic Messenger Bag before, so I was keen to explore all the backpack options from Timbuk2. I liked how the armory looked rugged yet still formal enough for office. Loved how there's a compartment for everything! My laptop, notebook, pens, flashlight, powerbank, power adaptor, and even water bottle pouch. If fits snugly and didn't feel heavy even when I filled it to the brim.
My only issue was that the bag settled rather high up in my back, so when I bent down, It had a tendency to slide down over my head.
Also, after walking around town for 2 days, I noticed the left side of the sternum strap had disappeared. It fell off somewhere which was odd since I haven't used them.
Overall, it's an excellent backpack, looking forward to another 5 years worth of adventure with it.

I ordered this bag after my spouse found a great Timbuktu bag. I really like the style, comfort, and design of this bag. One of my favorite features is the main pocket "flap" or "closure" is towards the straps to facilitate a more secure bag. I also appreciate the thoughtfulness put into this bag. It absolutely works for everything I need it to, including work, travel, and pleasure.

This is hands down my most favorite bag I have ever owned. I use it as my EDC, my bike commuter, and my weekend bag. It has a very low profile yet is incredibly spacious. I can easily pack my computer (Mac Pro 13"), change of clothes, shoes, travel towel, and toiletries in it for when I bike to work. When not carrying shoes I can get 2-3 days worth of clothes inside for weekend get-a-ways. The storage actually extends above the zipper which is nice for not having to shove those last few things in when it's fully loaded. It is insanely waterproof, not sure about the zippers, you wouldn't want to submerge it, but I have no hesitancy about wearing it through the rain on my way into work. Side pocket easily fits a 32oz Nalgene. Opposite side is great for headphones and GoPro. There isn't a lot of pocket storage but what it does have excels. I did end up buying a small case for cables and random knickknacks that there aren't pockets for - mostly GoPro accessories though.

I moved to the Netherlands a few months ago, knowing I would be commuting an hour each day by foot, train and bicycle. This backpack has been with me every single day. It is perfect for carrying my computer, and extra jacket and pair of shoes, picking up groceries, or to take with me on a weekend trip. On top of that it is basically waterproof, and has kept my computer dry during intense Dutch rainstorms!
If there were one or two extra pockets in the main compartment that would have been nice, but with that said, it I lost my backpack tomorrow I would replace it with the same one the next day. I LOVE this backpack.

This one was an impulse buy, and I'm glad I gave in to impulse. It's another one that's good for people with narrow shoulders - I took it snowshoeing, with a down jacket, lunch, water bootle and some other stuff inside, and it never felt overly heavy. I've been carrying it to work with my computer and stacks of papers, and it's heavy, but so compact that the weight doesn't bother as much as I'd expect. It carries much more than I'd expected without being bulky.
This bag is very well-designed. There are pen slots in the front, two sleeves inside which are great for holding a computer and a tall folder. I've never been one for bags with lots of pockets and compartments, but the pockets all make sense and are useful in this bag. The attention to detail is impressive. I love that the lid zipper opens toward the back - so smart for security.
My only gripe is that that top zipper doesn't always zip smoothly - it catches on the corners a little, and needs two hands. Pretty minor complaint, though.

Purchased this pack for class and for travel, most notably my recent trip to Singapore. What a perfect pack to get around an amazing city and for my weekly classes. Comfortably fits my Mac Book Air, an iPad, a rain jacket and all the essentials I need to go from A to B and everywhere in between. It's great looking an really comfortable. This is my third Timbuk2 bag and won't be my last.

I searched and searched for the perfect backpack. I had to figure out what I loved about my 3 different bags so I could buy 1 to replace them. (I am downsizing my life) The Armory bag was my final choice. I was looking at every brand and even custom made bags.
My needs are vast as I am a guy who carries lots of personal things (headphones, laptop, phone, chargers, book, journals, pens, wallet paperwork, water bottle, snacks, sunglasses and reading glasses), Plus my two kids need to be accommodated when we are together and they come with their own set of items, most important of all snacks, diapers, and wipes.
My bag life before the Armory bag basically had me forgetting something, somewhere, almost every day. I had my work bag, my dad bag, and my EDC bag. Something did always make it in the switch. I would forget my wallet in my dad bag but was at work trying to buy coffee. I hope you get the picture.
Now my daily life can fit in my Armory bag. There is enough room to cram a whole day of adventure items for 3 people while being sleek (when not full of stuff) and stylish enough to take to work. One of my co-workers already asked if I minded if he purchased one, not at all Daniel just not the same color ok!
Timbuk2 hit it out of the park on this sub $120 bag.
My only negative about the bag is the green color is more of a grey. That was an initial bummer as I was really hoping for it to be green but the color is still nice. Also, the security zipper could be improved. If the two parts that accept the lock could overlap or if they were a male/female style that would be nice.
Other than that, I think most people would be happy with this bag.

This pack is my 4th Timbuk2,I have 2 messengers that I've had for over 10 years and still use to this day. Before this one I ordered an aviator pack for traveling . That being my first Timbuk2 back pack I wasn't sure what to expect, all I knew was Timbuk2 quality is unmatched. Not to be disappointed it was great. So when the messenger bags kind of didn't work anymore for my daily grind I started searching for a backpack. To be honest all the other Timbuk2 backpacks weren't eye catching for me until this armory pack,so I scoped it out and waited for a good sale to get it. It is a great bag. It's sleek and lightweight, when I first got it I didn't think It was going to work because it looked tiny and I'm a bigger guy ,6 foot 225 you guys got to get bigger models for reference. To my suprise it holds everything I need and then some. The quality is unmatched, the comfort is top notch . The way the straps are makes it feel like you don't even have it on. My only gripe and they are so minor is that it took longer to get delivered than expected, and it has this double laptop /tablet pocket in the main compartment that gets in the way when I'm trying to pack it to capacity. Personally I think one padded pocket is plenty. Great bag great company.

I love that the top lid has locking zippers, it makes this a viable travel/hostel pack. The main compartment is a big empty bucket that only has padded laptop and tablet slash pockets. The front zip pocket opens wide with folding gussets and allows easy access to admin panel. Zip up side pocket has sharp color contrast making it easy to find things inside. I think it is great for quick access things that are used daily, e.g. headlamp, self packing shopping bag, sunglasses, etc.
I really wish it had our classic red key keeper lanyard, if I used this pack I would put my keys in the admin pocket instead I guess. I also wish we added a zip mesh pocket to the inside of the top lid for storage, I feel like it is wasted space.
Overall, this is an awesome everyday pack that will haul a surprising amount of stuff. I can see someone using it in the office on weekdays and travel on the weekends. Having locking zippers mean that you can check it if forced to by airline and still keep your laptop locked up.

Like this backpack a lot for lightweight, chest strap, side pockets. However the main compartment when I stuff all of my clothes in for an overnight trip is hard to organize or reach. Would be nice if it was either wider or some other way to access instead of top zipper. But good buy at the price I paid.

This is a very well-designed, very attractive product that is trim and has lots of useful features. However, do be careful in buying this for a specific size laptop. My son measured his laptop for a fit in the internal sleeve, and it does not fit. He does really like the backpack and wants to use it, I just wanted to be sure that people should allow for a difference in the size dimensions for the laptop. Your products are excellent and I hope you will continue making such outstanding and well-crafted, quality products.

Have not used the product yet but material and workmanship put into making the bag really looks good!
Anyway, I am pretty sure it is durable since it is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Use it as a backpack for work. I had a Mystery Ranch backpack before - loved it, but couldn't stomach the fact that there was no organization inside whatsoever.
I went to the Timbuk2 store and looked at a few different cases. Didn't see this one, but found it on the site.
The good side: laptop pocket is helpful, front organizer is great
The bad side: Just a bit too small for my tastes. Would love it if the pack had a little more volume. Sometimes I want to bring a light jacket and wrap it inside
