I have been on the hunt for a comfortable, practical, and professional looking backpack to use as a work bag to carry all my work essentials (water bottle, coffee travel mug, lunch, umbrella, pens, etc). After being unhappy with a backpack from EMS and two from Eddie Bauer that I had tried (limited pockets, too small of outside pockets for bottles, not water resistant, uncomfortable) I stumbled upon this one and I LOVE it! I am 5'1" so have a difficult time finding backpacks that fit me well and this one is perfect - comfortable and not too big but fits everything I need with room to spare. And all of the pockets assist with great organization!
As other reviewers said, the zippers are difficult at times but nothing that would impede it's use. This is a high quality backpack and treated with water resistance which is a must when walking into work in upstate NY.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this backpack for daily use and commuting. I plan to use this backpack for many years to come!

I used to be quite an advocate of the J**Sport bags because I felt they were so worthy of their reviews. I discovered the TIMBUK2 brand by accident on YouTube and bought this bag sight-unseen. I am so happy I did so because the TIMBUK2 fabric quality is ten times what the other bags I own is. This is the Sherman tank of backpacks and has just the right number of pockets. My Chromebook fits nicely inside and the pocket for the cords and the power supply is a nice fit. I went ahead and bought the Ramble Pack mini for my wife too and found it to be equally sturdy and reliable. Having the quick access Velcro pocket is a nice touch too. I travel all over the world and many of these packs are slashed by thieves from behind to steal their contents. I believe this one will give the thief issues!

I had my eye on this bag for awhile. It's not fancy but, it's lightweight and durable. I use it everyday. Throw my books and EDC kit toss it in my car and I'm off. The side pockets hold my stainless steel coffee/water cup snug with no spillages. It's low key style is just right for me. Thanks for the quality and thoughtful design!

Love this backpack. Super light and not so many compartments that you can't just shove stuff in!

After years of satisfaction with my timbuk2 messenger bag, i purchased this backpack for my son following the destruction of his skateboard bag - that was not made by this company - and simply could not hold up to his daily use. with timbuk2, i'm confident that this bag will handle what he gives it.

Great looking and great quality bag. Pockets/compartments are perfect, side water bottle holders fit standard size water bottles. Backpack straps are simple but effective. The laptop compartment is nice but does not have much padding - probably enough to keep it safe though especially if the laptop has a protective case already. Zippers on main compartments aren't the easiest but not a deal breaker. Overall very happy with the bag.

Literally just that. Slightly smaller than the Tuck, but big enough to fit all my things. Could use a couple more pockets in the interior, but just enough to separate the necessities. Small enough so I don't overpack. It's the winner for me!

I use it to transport my laptop and supplies to work everyday. So far it has been boxy, but comfortable. I miss my old CANDYBAR (Timbuk2) backpack, but that style was discontinued. This is the replacement.

I use it mostly for commuting with a laptop, etc., around NYC. This is a really sweet looking backpack with a great color pattern. The external pockets are fantastic for personal items. I would have loved three improvements (currently on the higher end Timbuk2 backpacks) that would make it a truly amazing bag:
1. Add the padded vents on the back and the straps. The back feels a little bare against your spine, and the straps feel precariously thin.
2. The zippers are "sticky" - they don't slide smoothly and feel a little cheaply made. I discovered by watching the video that it helps to fold the flap covering them out each time you go to unzip. I've gotten used to this, but feeling how smoothly the zippers on the other laptop bags were in the store, I get zipper envy.
3. Add one more interior pocket with a zipper for valuables so they won't float around in the main pocket.
Other than those three things, it's a great bag that I get a lot of compliments on. I'm not sure how rugged it is yet, but I'll soon find out.

This was a gift to my wife and it arrived just in time for a week getaway we had planned. It was a beach resort and she managed to get all the essentials she needed inside the pack. SInce it was only 4 days not much packing was needed but there's plenty of space. She told me it was very comfortable to use and she did not have any problem with it at the airport or inside the airplane. I'll give it 4 stars since we just got it and I can't tell how it will hold. I have a xs messenger and a Rogue that have hold very well.

Love the look and pockets. Product is very "stiff" which may improve with time. Consistent with other reviews, the main zipper and zipper for the larger compartment on the front are terrible. They stick around corners. There is a different larger tooth zipper around one of the smaller front pockets that's great. I wonder why they didn't use that for the whole thing. If I didn't get a great Black Friday price... I would have probably returned it.

This bag is a great everyday bag, nicely designed, super light with just the right number of pockets.
That being said, I think two areas need improvement:
1) Zippers are quite sticky and not what I'm used to with my other Timbuk2 bags
2) Straps are pretty flimsy, with very little padding and no mesh which makes wearing the backpack for long periods of time a bit uncomfortable.

It's a spacious backpack. I take it work; a 15" MacBook pro, a few notebooks, some pens, an umbrella and other nick-nacks. Sturdy and waterproof, it's already seen a couple of snow storms. But the straps are painful. Even though they are sturdy for the backpack, ergonomicallu it's a nightmare. They keep flipping over, dig into my shoulders, and force me to slouch to keep the backpack steady. I've
I would not recommend it because of the poor straps.

I'm a bit disappointed with this backpack. The zippers are hard to open, they seem to get stuck really easily. The padding on the shoulder straps is very minimal and there's none on the back. The material it's made out of seems to wear and stain easily while the spots I have attempted to clean with a damp towel and water appear to lose their color after gentle cleansing. I do like how it's a good size though, it's very light and I love the minimalist design with just enough utility. Unfortunately it's not what I expected out of a Timbuk2 item for the price, I have another bag from them and it's exceptionally well made, it's what made me fall in love with the brand in the first place.

I would not recommend this backpack. They basically just took a jansport backpack, added two small pockets and added 50 dollars to the price. The Straps seem thin and prone to break.

Since as a laptop bag i would expect the strap and back of the bag should have sufficient padding. but to my disappointment , it does not have. The strap looks like it will break under heavy load.when contacted their customer service after a few emails. There isnt anymore reply from them. i wont recommend this bag for the amount you are paying not worth it.
