I was reluctant to purchase these shoes based on the reviews averaging 4 stars. I went through med school and residency wearing Dansko clogs. Now throughout my private practice I exclusively wear Dansko shoes with my professional attire (though admittedly not all of their products are of equal quality, so ordering online can be a bit of hit or miss). These shoes must be made for employees on their feet all day, because the Emmas are literally the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. There is cushioning, moderate arch support (I have historically needed high arch support but for some reason these shoes don't give me a problem), lined and cushioned inside so can be worn with or without socks, non-slip bottoms, can be tied for a perfect fit so I can walk quickly in them... I wear these with my tight work pants, even if I look like a bit of a dork. If I could pull these off with my business skirts I'd probably wear these with those outfits also!!! (Thankfully, Dansko has made some well-made, comfortable shoes to go with skirts. I don't have to rely on the WalkingCo brand anymore.) Lastly, I love that the there is virtually no heel on these. The flat rise ensures my posture is excellent (stomach and tushie inn, shoulders back), and I can run in these at a moment's notice (e.g. if a patient is coding, or I just feel like running for no reason!) These are more comfortable than my most comfortable (and expensive) hiking shoes. Buy these, you won't regret it.

I'm on my 5th pair. As a busy bartender, I put in a lot of miles, and am on my feet, nine to ten hours a day. They usually last about 4 months, for me. Very comfortable, and I don't have sore feet! Yay!

I've looked for a few months now for a waterproof walking shoe I can wear for 9+ hours each day and I finally found them! Nice sleek design, not bulky at all. I ordered both an 8.5 & 9 since some reviews indicated they were slightly narrow and I kept the 8.5, my usual size. The opening for your ankle is wide, which will accommodate thicker socks. The insole is removable to put it in my own orthotics, but I might wear them as is. They don't have a ton of arch support but support the feet well and provide a lot of stability. The shoes have a nice gait, that make the forward motion of walking, easy. The upper toe flap is a little rigid but I think with a little wear it will break in nicely.

I wore these to an 11 hour bartending shift straight out of the box, a bold move considering how messed up my feet are (I have bunions and plantar fibromas and probably a million other things). When I opened the box I giggled at the sheer functional aesthetic of these shoes and immediately sent a photo to a friend with the caption #normcore.

I like these shoes a lot. I have plantar fasciitis and use my own orthotics. They are comfortable, and the look is similar to other Dansko shoes, but I like lace-up shoes better. They feel very firm, which is what I need.

These are beautiful shoes that could easily be worn with pants or even leggings or tights. The leather seems very study and supportive and the laces allow a custom fit. However, when I put my own orthotics in the shoe the sides gapped for me. If you are looking for that rare supportive shoe that is also good-looking, this could be your shoe. Sadly, I have to send them back.

The styling and quality are very nice, but the sizing is a bit strange. I definitely wear a size 10 (not a 9.5) and couldn't decide if I needed to go up to the next largest size or not. I went with the 9.5 to 10 and that was the right choice - they do fit, but the style seems to be tight in the instep. They may loosen up with time, but I took the safer route and chose another style that better fits my foot right out of the box.

I ordered a 1/2 size larger than usual to accommodate heavier socks. If I had ordered my usual size, the toes box would have been too short and the overall fit would have been tight. I find that I order different sizes in Dansko styles, I can't be guaranteed the usual size will fit.

Unlike most people who review shoes on Zappos, I don't have trouble with my feet, I do however have trouble with my back and get leg cramps if I wear the wrong shoes. These shoes actually work for me. they aren't super soft inside, but are comfortable. the arch hits just right. I wish there were more colors.

This is a great shoe, comfortable and stylish. I wish they still sold this style!

I have had multiple surgeries for broken bones in one of my feet. In the past I had struggled to find shoes that were comfortable and offered all day support until I found my first pair of these a couple years ago. I love these shoes. They offer good support and they do not have that “orthopedic” look. They are very light!

A lot more pricey than what I want to pay but there are a great fit.

I wear a 9 very consistently, which is usually a 40 but have a slightly narrow foot. The choices for this shoe were 39 (8.5-9) or 40 (9.5-10). So I got the 39 and it is too small! I'm ordering again, to give the 40 a chance, but beware.

From reviews wasn't sure which size 40 or 41 would work. 40 is too small and will return. 41 feels good. Still testing and will update as I figure out how they do!

This is my 2nd pair. Taking them to Paris for a vacation with lots of walking. They're lightweight but highly supportive, they have room for my orthotics, and although I wear size 11, they appear well proportioned and not bulky. Great shoe

Beautiful shoe unfortunately just a little tool wide for my foot

I have narrow feet and these are just right for me.

These shoes are too narrow in the forefoot for me (my feet are wide here with average/narrow heel). They are very nice looking and well made.

This shoe looked good. Unfortunately I broke a to recently and the front of the shoe rubbed uncomfortably.

This is not exactly the Dansko support I was looking for. I was hoping for something better but feel I could get better arch support from a high quality sneaker. I will try and add some padding and hopefully make it work.

This was my first Dansko to try. The fit felt very different, so I returned them and will look for stores that carry the brand to get a better "feel" among their styles.

Wow, I love Dansko but these shoes run small. My foot is a 9 1/2 but I ordered my usual Dansko size of 41 (which is listed as 10 1/2 to 11) to accommodate my custom orthotics. Without my orthotics, these shoes were way too tight. I couldn't even get my orthotics INTO these shoes. For a size 11??? I really wanted to love these since I need shoes that lace up, but these won't work.

I couldn't even get them on my feet to judge whether they would be comfortable or not. They are cut way too small. I have other Dansko shoes that are true to size, but something is wrong with the sizing on these.
