As others have mentioned, the suspension system is amazing - light loads, heavy loads, hiking, scrambling - it moves with you and stays where it should. Super comfortable. The only thing I missed having is a couple of straps on the bottom of the pack for bulky but light objects, like a sleeping pad. Other than that, it held what I needed for 2 nights of backcountry camping. I do have some tiny and light gear though, Everything wouldn't have fit if I was carrying a 2 person tent.

If money is no object this is hands down the best multi day pack on the market. By far the most comfortable pack I have ever worn due to the rota glide technology you can wear this for days without rubbing and back pain. I have taken this through rain and snow, crossed glaciers and summited mountains. It has never shown any signs of wear. The waterproofing on the pack is exceptional and will carry you through most situations, and the material is tough and does not rip when scrambling over rocks, ice climbing or hiking through scrubland. If you are looking for a highly functional pack that can stand up to the elements look no further.

The owner's manual for this bag is extremely well written and proved useful for making final fit adjustments. It also teaches you how to clean & care for it in a simple, direct way. Points for taking the time on this commonly overlooked portion of post-purchase support. To break-in the bag, I loaded it with 10 kilos (as recommended) and took a walk into Forest Park for a few hours. Beautiful. Practically undetectable. Its first few real trips came while hiking and scrambling in Canadian National Parks. Fitting eh? At Glacier NP (Rogers Pass) and loaded with 15-kilos, it accompanied me through the Asulkan Valley en route to the cabin maintain by the Alpine Club of Canada. Easy hike. Seven kilometers. Two steep sections on snow nearing Asulkan Cabin. I packed more than needed. A few days later, I packed half the weight and scrambled up to the top of the Tower of Babel in Banff NP (Lake Louise) and this is where the RotoGlide showed its most dramatic capabilities. You flex, it flexes. The packed weight moves with you making it seem like you have some kind of one-off prototype engineered by geeky outdoors people at NASA or someplace with as much human capital. Truly brilliant. Hugging & scrapping quartzite rock was no thing for the burly AC-squared materials. So far so good with this Bora 50. Definitely the nicest pack I've ever used.

I bought a Bora pack in 2001 (I think), and carried it all over the US and Europe. It was the most durable and comfortable pack I had, more so than more recent purchases. When I finally went to replace it a couple of years ago, I was disappointed the Bora was no longer made, so I bought an Altra pack, which I love. When I saw the new Bora I got it and just finished by first trip (35 lbs packed weight). It is amazing comfortable. First day was 15 miles over moderate terrain, with some scrambling. The hip belt allowed me wonderful freedom of movement, while keeping the pack from shifting on my back. My friends also noted that I was moving a lot faster than normal, due to the natural gait allowed by the pack's suspension. We got rained on, and everything in the pack stayed perfectly dry. The stiffness of the material on the top of the pack can make it a little difficult to dig for small items in the top, but that's a very minor complaint. The straps and attachment points on the Bora are very well designed and make sense when fumbling with them in the dark. It is a somewhat minimalist pack, so there are not a multitude of pockets, but it packed everything I needed for a multiday trip in cool weather with room to spare. Overall this is an incredible pack, and has become my new standard carry pack.

Ich verwende den Bora AR 50 seit dem Frhjahr fr mehrtgige Wanderungen ohne Schlafsack, Zelt und Kocher und bin zufrieden mit ihm. Das Tragesystem lsst sich fr meinen Rcken perfekt einstellen, die Trger sind sehr gut abgepolstert und grere Lasten sind kein Problem. Den Vorteil der horizontal beweglichen Aufhngung des Hftgurts (RotoGlide) kann ich noch nicht wirklich besttigen. Gewhnungsbedrftig ist, dass ich ihn beim Festziehen hochschieben muss. Die Ausstattung ist funktionell und auf der Hhe der Zeit: Seitentaschen (Karte, Kompass, Trinkflasche) gut erreichtbar, auf wenn man den RS auf dem Rcken hat. Die Netztasche am Hftgurt nimmt mein Smartphone auf, das ich fr Fotos und Navigation immer parat haben will. (Dennoch vermisse ich die Wingman-Taschen meines Altra 65, die weitaus gerumiger sind.) Der Seitenreiverschluss erlaubt Zugriff auf Proviant und 2. Wasserflasche. Prima auch die Knguru-Tasche fr Regensachen und berziehkleidung bei kalten Stopps, die man erreicht, ohne das Hauptfach zu ffnen. Seitliche Kompressionsgute mit Steckschnallen um Sachen festzuzurren, das Trinkblasenfach nutze ich nur bei richtiger Hitze, dann aber gerne. Insgesamt eine wirklich gute Ausstattung! Die "innenliegende Sicherheitstasche" ist zwar gut gemeint, doch durch ihre Platzierung vllig im Weg, wenn man auf das Hauptfach zugreift. Die beiden Taschen im Deckel htten vllig gereicht. Der wasserdichte (blaue) Stoff fhlt sich robust an, ist aber auch sehr steif. Das zeigt sich nachteilig, wenn man den Hauptsach komprimieren will und erschwert den Zugriff auf die Deckeltasche.

This is an expensive pack but the components (buckles, tie downs) are cheap. I had to replace the back buckles that secure the lid on my second trip with 'Sea to Summit' buckles and one of the bungie ties on the right side has already broke. It packs well with heavy loads but I'm not pleased with the overall quality. I wouldn't buy again.
