Several of the reviews here echo my recent experience. I also own an older pair of Clarks Wave sandals. I remember they were comfortable immediately, needed no breaking in. For years I walked for miles at a time at home and on trips in the USA and Europe. I wanted another pair but could not find one for a long time. Then here they were on Zappos - or so I thought. The "new" sandals are, as the other reviewers said, stiff, not cushy, and of lower quality materials. So disappointing...

Not enough comfort and padding inside shoe. My heel pain started after wearing them 30 minutes

I bought these because I have the Clarks Wave Coast sandal and they are the very best sandals I've ever owned. I thought these would have the same cushioned comfy footbed but with the added security of an ankle strap and more adjustability. But I was wrong. The footbed is hard and inflexible and not nearly as cushiony as the Wave Coast. If they had the same footbed as the Coast they would be perfect. Because of the stiff inflexible sole they hurt my knees. Unfortunately I have worn them outside so I cannot return them, but they will be another pair of EXPENSIVE sandals that sit on the shelf until I can bring myself to give them away. Clarks, have a look at the reviews of the Wave Coast sandals and use what people are saying about them to make more sandals just like them.
