My 13-year-old son loves his size 11 Vans Chima Ferguson in (Covert/Twill) Blue/Gum. He refuses to wear running style athletic shoes, due to the perceived uncool factor. This shoe runs wide and there are gaps near both sides of my son's ankles, but the laces keep the shoes on his feet. Unlike the Vans Authentic and Classic Slip-On shoes, the Vans Chima Ferguson has a removable comfy and cushiony insole with some arch support. The gum-color outsole is distinctive and helps to hide dirt. I like the durability of the suede toe upper. I bought these shoes for my son to wear as "cool" walking shoes while vacationing in Europe. He has worn them everyday since. I highly recommend this shoe!

I love Vans and have worn every style of shoe they make and these might be my favorites so far!!! Awesome shoe and looks great with everything!!!

These fit a little smaller than the posted size. Not sure if its a manufacturer's thing, i.e. Vans may run a little small?

The shoe fit well as expected. The shoe looks good as expected. I purchased the marshmallow/gum color. I docked the rating 1 star only because Zappos sent me a pair that had a stain of some sort on the canvas in the rear part of the shoe. Not totally noticeable when I wear them but not something I want to see when I pull a supposed new pair of shoes from the box. The shoe is not true white as depicted in the product photos. The canvas is more of an off white almost light cream and the suede part of the shoe (on the toe) is a very light grey. Also of note is the Vans label on the side of the shoe is white with white writing. This makes the label look blank like someone forgot to write Vans on it. I have to wear my glasses and look very closely to tell that it indeed says Vans with the trademark symbol. I was going to return these because of the stain but realized that Zappos sold me their last 8 1/2. I searched other online stores and it seems there are no size 8 1/2 available anywhere. I figured I'd live with the stain and just keep these. Perhaps these are ultra popular or maybe just a few seasons old. I do like them and haven't seen anyone wearing this color.

Since the VANS Slip-on SF were too loose at the heel in my size of 10.5 (womens), I decided to try this lace-up version. Again, this pair fit well across the toe box, and the length was perfect – and the UltraCush sole is awesome! – but the back of the heel dug in too much and a bit too high on the back of my ankle. (The extra leather patch detail on the back didn't seem like it would ever stretch out enough.) As much as I like the Smoke Blue and Marshmallow color combination, sadly I had to return this pair. Bummer.

Good shoes

Great shoe overall, but unfortunately does not work well for people with higher arches. I was sad to return it.

Best pair of vans I've owned yet and I've had a ton of different ones. They feel solid and not flimsy like some other pairs.

Classic style similar to the Authentic or the Era, but far more comfortable due to the removable Ultracush insole. Seems to run just slightly wider than other Vans. Highly recommended.

Have the size 13 and they are a bit more snug than the other vans styles that I have (Chukka Lows). They look great though for a casual night/day out. Getting them in several different colors for sure.

It’s a little bit bigger than I expected

These aren’t comfortable shoes.

Way too narrow for sons foot. Insole is curved on inside of shoe so foot doesn’t sit flat. Better for a narrow foot.

Stitching along the edge is cutting.

These are really nice looking shoes, but don't even try to order them if you have anything but narrow feet. I wear an 11.5 in the Adidas Sambas which are also listed as medium width. Super comfortable. These are so narrow, I couldn't even get my foot in. I went up to a 12 and they still crushed my feet. I'm super bummed because I really like these. Don't bother with them unless you've got narrow feet!
