I've had to transition to comfort shoes due to a back issue. I've tried many brands and styles that were either uncomfortable or just seemed geriatric and aesthetically unappealing. I didn't have high expectations for Naot's Kata, but am I ever happy I decided to give them a try. I'm not accustomed to arch support so in the beginning my arches ached when I wore them. I found I had to break them in by wearing them for short periods while gradually increasing the wear time. It was worth the time and effort because they conformed to my foot and now I can walk all day in them. I am amazed by how many compliments I receive from complete strangers when wearing these. Not just from ladies in my 50 year old age group, but from women in their 20'smand 30's! I volunteer as a tour guide in my historic home city. Recently two women in my group approached me at the end of the tour to ask where they could get these shoes. They got out their phones, went to Zappos, and purchased them while we were standing in the gift shop. I adore the way the Kata looks and feels on my feet. They have a kind of sassy appeal that suits my artsy/boho style. They're definitely casual, but you can pull off chic casual without a problem. I now own six pairs of the Kata and only wish they came in more colors! For reference I wear a 9 - 9.5 and have a medium to slightly narrow foot. I ordered the 40 M and they are a perfect fit.

I LOVE THESE SHOES!!! I have very "difficult" feet. I don't normally like flats because they either don't have enough support or are not cute. However, these shoes are cute, comfortable and stylish. I normally wear a 7N and have very bony ankles. I bought size 37 and they fit perfectly. Most shoes that wrap around the ankle are very uncomfortable, but not these. They are super comfortable right out of the box. There is plenty of room in the toe box for feet of normal width, and the ankle straps allow the top part to adjust to fit all ankle sizes. I bought them in beige and the color is absolutely perfect. It goes with everything. I look forward to many years of wearing these shoes for daily wear and travel.

This is my THIRD pair of Naot Kata shoes--and this one might be my favorite color. These shoes are stylish (wear with skirts or pants), unbelievably comfortable, and sturdy. I have walked miles on city streets ands cobblestones--and even on a rocky mountain path. Just fabulous.

Super cute - not a sandal and not a shoe! Kata is a very unique shoe = also it is from Naot, a brand that is known for true comfort. I wear a six and 37 always works in this brand. As a high school teacher I am on my feet all day - discipline by proximity. Are Naot shoes worth the price - just ask my feet? Years of wearing pointed toe/high (4") heels have done their damage to my old feet. This brand makes shoes for real people with real feet. Kata will look great with everything, from pants, skirts, and dresses. The neutral color is a plus - but I am checking out the black.

I wore these for a week-long trip to the UK and they were great. We walked about 4-5 miles every day around London and Cambridge, and my typically-cranky feet felt good! My toes are very short (so my overall foot length is short relative to where my arch is) and they hate to be pinched. The toe box on this shoe is very comfortable, without there being extra slop inside. The only part of my foot that hurt after all that walking was the heel fat pad, but it was manageable. My success rate with shoes (that I can wear them for more than an hour without discomfort) is about 10%. I was delighted with these. Any my teenage daughter wasn't at all embarrassed to be seen with her 50-something mom because these have flair. I will caution that I did not wear these for the flights, because they are not slip on/off. Luckily, we had TSA pre-check, so we didn't have to take off our shoes, but these would not be easy. Same thing for travel in Japan or anywhere that it's important to have shoes that go on and off easily. It's not just that you snug them, tie them, and are done. The way the shoelace hits my foot, I have to pull the slack in each shoelace back down to the bottom of the loop after I tie them or the shoelace will pinch my foot as I walk. Not a problem when setting off for the day - only an issue if you need quick on/off.

After wearing this shoe on a trip involving lots of walking on uneven, dusty, cobblestones, I will choose it every time for my "go to" comfort shoe. Additionally, it cleans up with a little soapy water and a light brushing with a fingernail brush. The best shoe ever!

These shoes are wayyyyyy overpriced. I could not believe that when I received them that they did not have an insole. (see photo attached.) You can see the stitching on the inside of the shoe. I ended up buying inserts for the shoes and they still fit fine, but unfortunately, you can see the insoles from the sides. So my $200 shoes look ghetto. The toe box is quite large, so thankfully that was enough space for my insoles and feet to fit comfortably. They do look exactly like the photos, and with the insoles they are extremely comfortable. But the lack of quality makes these $60 shoes not $200 shoes. So CAVEAT EMPTOR.

I had another pair of sandals, years back and they were very comfy. In the summer I could wear no socks and have the perfect breathing feet. Just like I imagine Jesus to have had. In the fall my feet were still bare in them and perfectly warm. Only had a blister or two in the beginning. Fast-forward years ahead and these ones give me blisters if I don’t wear socks two or more years after receiving them. I won’t lie, I’m disappointed. Also the velcro doesn’t go tight enough or stick well.

usually I buy a 40 in Naots even though I am a true 8 1/2 medium in US sizing. The Kata style toe shape fits my foot perfectly and I bought these in a 39. As always, I levant for the arch support and stability and cuteness!

I wrote a favorable review when I first got these shoes, and now I am writing another one after wearing them on a trip for a week. I LOVE THEM! I got compliments on them from men and women alike and I think they look great but more important than that is they are soooo comfortable. You know those shoes you can wear and never even think about them because they are so comfortable? Well, these are those shoes. I bought a size up so I could put in my own orthotics or wear them with socks when the weather turns cold. My feet need a lot of support and I get tired of wearing just athletic tie shoes, so because these tie up where I need the support, they are a fantastic alternative.

I love this shoe. Bought early for a trip to Italy to get used to wearing. No need to break in, very comfortable.

I love these shoes! This is my first real pair of "comfort" shoes. (I have another pair of Naot sandals that I've worn on European trips but haven't used them when I'm not traveling abroad.) I was really worried about comfort shoes looking unfashionable, but these are actually quite cute on. The front of the shoe still looks slightly clunky to me, but it's not bad. The side and the back of the shoe are extremely cute and fashionable. I've received multiple compliments on the shoes. The best part about this shoe is the comfort factor -- I never had to break it in, and wore it for an entire long work day (and I stand at my standing desk for hours a day) and my feet felt very comfortable throughout. I also love that this has good support for my feet. I bought it in the nude color and love it so much that I'm going to purchase it in the black too! This ran true to size for me, and I was able to get a comfortably secure fit by tying the laces tightly and double knotting them so the laces didn't come undone. I'd highly recommend this shoe.

I really like this shoe. Its the perfect blend of a shoe/sandal look. The leather is quite soft and even though the back is high it doesn't bother my heel. The laces will have to be double-knotted for extended wear as they loosen up after wearing a bit. I have bunions, ugh, and a narrow heel so I find these Naots accommodate my foot nicely and are true to size, I ordered a 40 which is what I normally wear in a closed shoe. I plan to wear these with ankle pants, crops and dresses.

These have a very cushioned, soft foot bed, good arch support, and a great amount of room in the toe box, which I like since my feet are wide there. I liked the style fine. I generally wear an 8.5 and went with a 40 which may have been a little big for me - should have ordered a 39 as well to try. They did seem a little long but I thought I'd be wearing them in the heat and my feet might swell. In the end, I reluctantly returned because of how high the ankle part came up. It was a little loose around the ankle and I thought it would irritate me. Made me sad because I loved the comfort of the foot bed and toe. In general, I really love Naot!

These are cuter than comfortable for my "special" foot. They are so supple and without a ton of padding in front that I can feel pressure under the bone in the forefoot as I bend the foot (due to bunions). A also feel some rubbing on the back of the ankle on the Achille's tendon. Lots of leather back there! Would have tried with a pad if I didn't have issues with the underfoot pressure. Ok to wear without socks but not as comfy as a sandal. I wear a 10.5, have narrow feet. size 41 seems right in Naot shoes.

Great shoe. I have hallux limitus and this shoe allows me to dance and also works well for occasions that are dressy. I have several pairs of tan and black.

Should be a good toe-hiding, summer-to-fall supportive-yet-flat casual shoe. I think they will look good with cropped pants and skirts. I’m feeling a little bit of break-in will be needed for the part that wraps around the back of my ankle, and I also feel the edge of the insole along my inner arches, but I’m not too worried.

I adore these shoes. My work requires closed toes shoes, so these are my go to shoes all summer. People comment on them regularly, complementing them. Feel like super comfortable "old lady shoes" that look very fashionable. I can wear them with both skirts and pants. My pair are at least 4 years old and going strong. Thinking about buying another pair just to make sure I have them in case Naot stops making them. The only slight negative is that the laces come undone frequently, so I find myself retying them.

Amazing! It’s hard to find shoes that are both cute AND comfortable, one must usually sacrifice one for the other. Not the case with this shoe! I purchased these for a recent two week trip to Italy, which entailed LOTS of walking on cobblestones, concrete, uneven surfaces, etc. These shoes were perfect, happily I never had issues with them or my feet! Looking to buy another pair in a different color which I generally never do, especially at this price point. In addition to being super comfortable they work with ankle pants, dresses, etc. as well so you don’t need to pack a bunch of different shoes. They are worth the money...

It’s a beautiful shoe and fits true to size. I didn’t like the feel of the ankle part. It felt too high up the back of my ankle and uncomfortable to me.

Adorable, but runs small. Nice fit, but not enough arch support to go without my orthotics. Great soles, great construction, great style.

These Kata Naot's go with everything and are incredibly comfortable. I have had numerous Naot shoes, and they are all very well made and will last a long time, and I highly recommend these beautiful shoes. I purchased a size 9 because I wear between an 8.5 - 9. The nine fits perfectly. Color: Beige Lizard Leather/Khaki Beige Leather/Arizona Tan Leather.

I loved these shoes. I was mad that i had to return them. Nothing to do with the shoe. My foot (had issues with an injury to the top of my foot years ago) couldn’t take the position of the front of the shoe’s leather. It hit just where my injury was and I couldn’t take it. But the shoe itself was super comfortable and pretty. It was just where it bent was affecting that spot on me. But anyone else would love the shoe. Too bad I had to send back. It hugged my ankle super comfy.

1st time i put them on they were so comfortable, I was able to walk for several hours in them with no problem. They didn't need breaking in which is amazing. Style is great, not what I would normally buy but I am very pleased with them.
