Like all new shoes, they need to break in. Based on the feedback from others, I ordered 1/2 size larger than I usually wear and I'm glad I did. Some said they are larger than the size they usually wear but I did did not find that to be true. I have had a pair of these exact shoes that I bought years ago. They seem to be of high quality and well built. I would recommend them. Zappos has the best Customer Service of all the places I shop online! Free shipping AND free returns if they do not fit.

Best boat style shoe and made by Timberland. Slightly bigger heal vs other boat shoes with almost no heal. Big plus! No break in period. Top quality as Timberland always is. Extra benefit, in black. awesome shoe. Timberland, don’t discontinue it!!!

After trying another moccasin, which I returned, I choose the Timberland. They have a good thick sole for wet weather. They will require some breaking in as the leather is rather stiff. I also bought some very low thin socks to keep the leather from rubbing my foot; however, as the leather softens up, the socks will probably not be necessary. All in all I am very satisfied and would recommend this moc

The color shown for the oiled full grain is darker than the actual shoe color and is too light for us, so we had to exchange.

compared to regular boat shoes, the grip is welcome in winter!
