I love this cap!
I have 3 of these bad boys cause I like them so much.
Once I started wearing these I ended giving away all my baseball caps to a local charity.
These are super lightweight, pack up small and look great!

Great for everyday use, folds small enough to fit comfortably in a pocket when you don't need it. Great for the surprise rain shower.

Love this modern update on the patrol cap. I had the tailor pull back the hat just a tad in the back, and it gives the hat a more rounded shape that I'm happier with. Also, the bill folds in two for easier packability. The headband is also made of a nice porous material that wicks sweat.

Works as expected. Good stitching and feels like a lot of material went into it.

I took this hat with me along a 2,650 mile thru hike of the PCT. I loved that when I didn't need the hat I could easily store it in my backpack with out it being bulky and awkward to carry. Even in the desert heat my head never got too sweaty or hot - the lightweight fabric is super comfortable. Another great product from OR!

One at a time, I have now bought this hat in three different colors. It's easily my favorite cap. No logos or gimmicks. Just a perfect fitting, not too tight but won't come off in high winds either, light weight, comfortable cap. It's fabric wicks away the sweat and dries quickly. It has a little loop on the inside to hang it from. It goes right in the washing machine and then hangs to dry. The folding brim makes it stow away perfectly in a pocket or pretty much anywhere, and it seems to always snap right back into shape. Get yourself one (or more) and you won't be disappointed.

Love this folding brim, making it easily packable. In a backpack, or a bike pannier, or a pocket.

i bought this hat for two reasons, rain and rain. This hat kept me dry, and kept my glasses spot free during a stormy bicycle commute. The XL was big at first,( typically no hat fits me,( I was a green dot in football helmets)) after a run through the wash, the hat shrank just enough to be perfect... Equate this to new Levi's.

My first cap went all over the place with me and received tons of comments about where to get one - I've even had one person like it so much they took it out of the rental car in Detroit.
I've had four now, couple different colors in fact. I have worn it in heat, everyday at work in pouring rain and even though it's not designed for rain it keeps my head dry. It has gone everywhere with me, and have a back up just in case I loose another or one is taken again. I'd recommend -light, durable, comfortable, and dry.

When you want to pack small and light, a traditional baseball cap is pretty inconvenient. I got the Radar cap to fill that need, thinking it would be a utilitarian piece to keep the sun out of my eyes, my head dry, and cover up messy hair (ok, so I'm a little vain). I was surprised--it's actually a very stylish hat. I wear it out and about as much as on the trail, and get many compliments. And that folding brim... why every hat doesn't have it, I don't know.
Regarding its water resistant capabilities--I've worn this hat in some pretty heavy storms and it has kept my head perfectly dry. As a test, I even inverted the hat and filled it with water. I didn't notice any drips. Conclusion: this hat is, for all intents and purposes, waterproof. The only drawback I've found is that it holds in my perspiration on hot days. For that reason, I plan to buy the version with vents.

For a guy with a big melon, the XL in this hat was a perfect fit. This is the only other hat besides flex fit ball caps that fit well for larger head sizes. The brim has a nice seam or fold in it, so you can fold this hat flat, including the brim, then when you pull it out of a bag, it bounces right back to to true form. This is my favorite ball cap. I love the camo pattern, and shorter Brim length. I sprayed on some fabric safe water repellency to help in that department as this is not a water proof cap. Great job with this hat.

I've owned this hat for a while, and decided it's finally time for a review. This thing goes with me everywhere. It's super light, really comfortable, and effective. I get countless compliments on the hat, and people are amazed when I show them how the brim folds. It's like they've been living under a rock all their lives. Some folks have mentioned the water resistant properties as being bad - however, I've found that it does just fine as long as you are not in a down pour. No, it is not waterPROOF, but it's not made to be. The functionality (spelling, I've had a few beeeeers) is great for blocking that big ball `o fire in the sky, and keeping light rain out of my eyes. Plus it folds down to the size of a taco and slips into a pocket or pack very nicely. I recommend the Radar Pocket Cap for anyone that wants a hat that is truly functional and not cumbersome. You can't go wrong with something that simply works.

This is a typical OR product. High quality, great price, and useful. This is my go to hat for travel and backpacking. It's folds in the middle at the brim, slips straight into any pocket, then comes out and pops right back into form. I've brought baseball caps with me hiking before and you wreck the brim if you try and stuff them anywhere, and I've brough those "running" hats with me and once that brim gets out of shape it's never the same. I like the military style brim, not because it's becoming a trendy style but because it packs down even smaller and weighs less than a full brim would. But it definitely has a short brim, so be prepared.

I've worn this hat all day every for many days in a row and I would forget that it was even there if it wasn't for the fact that it blocked the sun from my eyes. I'm getting ready to order it in another color. Thanks OR for this gem of a dome topper.

I have used this hat for white water rafting, hiking, and everyday use. It dries quikly when wet. It folds nicely into your back pocket. Keeps the sun out of your eyes, will keep your head warm in the winter and breaths nicely in the summer. All around great product. No problems what so ever. If you looking for versatile cover with great performance buy it. The also owns one now.

I LOVE this hat! For the last 2 months, it has been the only one I wear. It works great for sun protection, but also is surprisingly good in the rain. I got soaked hiking a couple of times, and the hat kept my head completely dry. Love how easily I can fold it up and throw it in my pack. It will definitely be coming to this weekend's camping trip w/ me! PS. Not sure why some people say this hat doesn't fit well. It comes in S-XL sizes. Just need to get the right size.

Another killer product from Outdoor Research! It packs down so small, it will fit in a pack side pocket,so you can put in on in the morning after a red eye flight to a exotic destination, cover your bed head, and look fresh and stylish!

I bought this hat for a 3 week Europe tour. It was late May so weather changes were quick, but it did good in both sun and rain. Perfect size to pack in a cargo pocket. It just got a lot of wear in the Bahamas. I think I will buy one in another colour.

I've been wearing the radar caps for the past ten years, and continue to do so for hiking, backpacking, and walking around the city. Lite, rugged, and doesn't get my head overheated. I do wish Outdoor Research would bring back the vivid blue, lavender, red colours. The current crop of army-inspired colours are boring. Happy I bought two of the blue caps when they were in stock.

This hat is very light weight and comfortable and folds up easily and is very functional. It does not breat at all though. If there were a breathable option I would give it 5 stars.
