Material is very nice, high quality, the back piece is not annoying like most. Very easy to wear without having to play with it so much. Very satisfied !

I often have a hard time finding hats that fit having a 7 7/8 - 8 " fitted hat. sized head. This big boy fits great and provides great shade.

Was a great cap for the desert, perfect without the cape when it's not too sunny and the cape kept my neck shaded and cool.

light weight and good sun coverage

Living in SoCal and being an avid runner (both the road and trails), I decided that I need a good running cap with neck/face protection from the blaring sun - especially during the summer. After looking at all the various options available, I decided to go with this cap from OR and I can't be happier. It is exactly what I needed. The fit is spot on, is breathable and keeps my head cool, and provides the protection from the sunlight from my sensitive skin. Looks good as well! Highly recommended!

Bought this hat for a little extra coverage in above-alpine and minimal tree-cover running zones. Comfy, breathable, and gets the job done. Pretty solid price too honestly.

I give the Sun Runner Cap 5 Stars. I am a Melanoma Survivor, and this Cap gives me the protection from the sun that I need. Itstays in place, is cool and comfortable yet flexible for all of my outdoor activities. I am almost 80 years old and continue to be active, so I really appreciate having products that assist me in pursuing the things I love to do in the outdoors!

Everyone laughs at me for wearing this mullet hat, however it's undeniably practical. I like that it's lightweight, packable, I can remove the sun shield portion if needed, and there's a size option perfect for my extra large head.

I love this piece hat, it is great for sun and wind. Easy to remove the neck guard.

Great coverage, easy adjustability, simple to attach and remove neck coverage but I leave it on. Could possibly be more breathable on the really hot days, but the sun protection is amazing! Love it for trail running, 14ers, paddle boarding, and so many other things. Reasonably priced for the amount of use! Accommodates my big head and my ponytail out the back!

I do a lot of walking and hiking around in the high deserts and plains of the southwest for work and this hat works better than any other hat or hood I've used. I used to wear a lot of floppy "dad hats" but would still get sun onto my neck and face, so I bought this to try it out. It's comfortable even on my big head and does a great job of keeping me shaded and cool. I recently lost mine, and so bought two more on here while they're on sale, that way I can rotate them out as they get dirty. The neck shade isn't too difficult to adjust or take on or off, but I like having it and just leave it on all the time. Great hat!

This is my 2nd one and love it. It's great to run in without the back attached, I used it to keep the sun off me on Denali, and keep the bug at bay during bug season. It's comfy, breaths well, stays on and looks great!. I highly recommend.

Must have gear on multiple Glacier excursions

Great hat for hiking in hot sunny weather. It's nice to be able to remove the cape when the sun is down or you're out in town.

It does what it needs to do - shields the side of your face. Nice to be able to remove the shield when you don't need it. Light weight and not too hot. There is a space for a pony tail to go through which keeps hair from making your neck too hot.

I saw this hat and wanted to try it, and I have really liked moving to a super compact, lightweight product that provides excellent sun coverage for my ginger skin! The hat as well made, and I'm not sure why people think it is difficult to remove and deploy the neck hood, you simply feed your head between the chinstrap and the fabric on the back and then connect to snaps on the front. Couldn't be easier! I recommend this hat to anyone looking for a full sun, coverage solution and a super lightweight package 2.9oz/84g. PS, it pairs perfectly with hooded sun shirts which are popular.

I can wear this while mowing and pass my ear protection through the flap. Keeps the sun off my neck and doesn't bunch up like a bandana.

Worked wonderfully during my recent ultra race.

Helps beat the FL heat

The only downside of this hat is the elastic in the back of the side curtain. It's not adjustable and pulls tighter than I would like. I'm at the big end of what fits in this hat.

Works great for sun protection, and if it rains, well it's pretty useful there too. Love it!

It comes in multiple sizes unlike many other brands that have a One Size Fits All. The sides of the flap are curved such that it doesn't obstruct your peripheral vision and also covers more of your cheeks. My 9yo son wears this for all types of outdoor activities including tennis and for general outdoor play. It fits his head nicely and looks cute. Most importantly it protects very well against the sun. He's gotten compliments on it from adults and teens.
