I have the same hat in a different color. But this one fits a little funny. The lining shows over the ears and it looks odd. Other than that, its a great hat.

Had a hat similar that was unfortunately discontinued. This one does not fit as large, so not as much room for an insulation layer underneath. Kill keep my head cool while out in the sun.

Happy with the hat overall. The inside liner sticks out and is visible from the front making me wear I'd solely for outdoor activities. I wish it would match the hat color and not stand out so much so I could wear is more fashionably!

I had a cheapo sunhat before this that was very hot. This hat is much cooler. The wide brim and longer back protect my face and neck perfectly. I took the chin strap off (which is nice to be able to do), because i mainly wear the hat on walks and hikes or when relaxing outside, so I don't really have any issues with it blowing off. I'm heavier set - not your typical lean outdoorsy type, and I think I have a slightly larger than average head (i wear a 7-3/8 fitted hat). The XL fits how i'd want it to. If the draw string isn't tightened at all, the hat stays on, but is nice and comfy - not too snug. if i tighten down the draw string, it is nice and snug and stays on in light wind etc. The headband inside the hat is really nice and comfortable. Style-wise, it is certainly fine for hikes etc, around town - i think it looks pretty good. Perhaps a little 'dad-hatty', but i'd rather throw on a sun hat quick, then put sun screen on my face and neck all the time... I bend it into 1/4 size shape to throw in my bag and the brim bounces back pretty good each time. Overall, i'm pretty happy with the hat. I functions and performs how i need it to.

I did not read the fabric description — my fault. I was looking for a cotton sun hat; the fabric on this hat is not cotton. Other than that, I liked it — I ordered the L and XL, both would have worked. The red is a rather dull color.

Like the light weight and sun protection coverage. This is my second one. Don't put it in a cloths dryer!

The only company that makes a hat to fit my (big) head. The inner headband is loose and allows the hat to move around. The tensioner lock doesn't hold. Two things I can fix myself, I just don't like the fact that I have to.

This replaced one I lost in the lake. Disappointed in the color - every pic on the net shows "Mars" as RED. Most definitely RUST.

Not that happy with the color, I like the white or lighter color better but out of stock at the time, I re-order because i washed my first one and it didn't come through that very well, the brim was floppy

Perfect for kayaking on the lake and protect yourself from the sun. Large enough to shade your face and neck.

Great shade coverage. Super secure even in high wind. It could breathe better. It's great for a sunny day

I use this hat working outside or just sitting around in the sun. The wide brim provides a ton of shade and the vents help keep your head cooler than other hats. My only complaint is that the brim was bent in the box upon delivery and it sticks up on the left side when wearing it, hence the 4 stars. This was my first time buying from Outdoor Research and will definitely be buying other products in the future.

The brim flaps up quite a bit in the wind. But all in all, good sun protection. It's a good hat for a good price

I use this hat in a semi-arid grassland environment. Nice wide brim that keeps the sun off my neck, which is great! The brim is quite stiff though. Doesn't look quite as stylish as I had hoped. More of a safari type look :)

Great for sun protection and I like the hat a lot overall. However, it seems to run a bit small... even though I measured the circumference of my own head and bought corresponding size on the size chart, it is definitely SNUG.

Good quality and works well at keeping the sun off my head. The only trouble is that it is a little tight even though I got XL, and I can't wear it for an extended amount of time.

Use for paddling and hiking. I love the lightweight material and the different sizes offered. I got a large because I'm on the larger end of the medium size and I like my hats not binding. It's hard to find hats in larger sizes in colors for women. I love the seaglass color, it's a beautiful blue-green and goes with lots of jewel tone colors I already have for shirts/pants. I gave it 4 stars because it flies up in the wind while canoeing.

Sun protection backpacking and sea kayaking is outstanding. Does okay in strong winds but could be stiffer in the area covering the face. Hard to reshape when after being rolled up in a pack. All-in-all a good hat! I'd recommend it to friends.

My only complaint is that I wish it cooled better in the sun. I would like some kinda cooling cloth or better vents.

Pretty good protection and looks good. Even wore it backwards on accident on the river but it still looked decent.

Great Hat and keeps shape in wind. Fits perfect and looks good. I did get a chance to get the all nylon one and it is one ounce lighter than this hat. I would wear this hat for more harder wear like bushwhacking. Also, would wear this one in shoulder season over the lighter one.

I'm a professional sports photographer . The hat does not breath very well but it does protect me from the sun and bad weather. But I now I feel like one of those old guys Who bring camping chairs to work
Who I always thought were posers. If you can't stand for 3 to 5 hrs. Stay home
