Very comfortable shoe. True to fit. I wear 12.5 but ordered a 13. The shoe doesn't hug my feet which is what I prefer. I don't like tight shoes hugging my toes. The sole extends around the shoe uppers. I've always liked this as it protects the uppers and gives the shoe a stable look. I'm not concerned with my shoe looking too big for the sake of comfort. Many wearers concern themselves with their feet looking to big in shoes and sacrifice comfort for vanity. This shoe is a all-around comfortable shoe as long as you get your correct size. The corduroy look is different than your usual smooth look. These are my second pair.

I usually wear 9 medium. These fit fine. I can wear them outside for getting mail, etc. And, also wear them with or without socks.

If you're like me, you found the Laze while searching for a replacement for your beloved Patagonia Maui's and you're wondering... "Is the Merrill Laze the same exact shoe as the Maui!?!?" For the most part it is exactly the same shoe! The sole is the same, the upper is the same (apart from the striped texture), the fit is the same, and they have the same ability to work great with chinos or jeans. The differences are the Merrell logoswhere the Patagonia logos were, a less than premium insole, and a fake fur lining. Wait, what?!? Yes, instead of a mesh lining these (maybe just the tan color?) are lined in Wookie fur. It works, but it makes these a Fall/Winter/Spring shoe. Wearing them on a 90 degree summer day, they are HOT in a way the non-perf Maui was not. But despite that drawback, it's a great loafer.

The toe is boxier than it appears in the photo, which is amplified by the way the sole extends around the edge. This makes sense to protect the suede, but for big feet, it makes them look huge.
