Felt "clunky". Too much shoe for my purposes of light hiking/travel walking.

I wanted to love this shoe, as I have always loved Moab hiking boots. However, the sizing just seems way off to me. With Merrell, shoes always seem to fit true to size for me, so I got my usual size 7. Even with my thickest socks on, my heel is moving around like crazy in the shoe, and I am getting blisters galore. Unfortunately, I didn't discover this until taking it out on a few short trails, so now I guess I am stuck with it. At any rate, definitely runs way large and almost seems like the size was labeled incorrectly to me.

I used to always be a size 8.5 medium but have expanded into a 9 Wide. Based on reviews of these being wider than normal, I bought these in sizes 8.5 and 9 Medium, and for comparison, a pair of Moab 3's in size 9 wide width. These Vents felt like wearing a frying pan on my foot. The sole is stiffer than stiff and super uncomfortable. The width was fine. While the 8.5's were WAY too small (my big toe was rubbing at the top inside) the 9's were way too big and felt like floppy frying pans on my feet. It was more like I was trying on an 8 and a 9.5 instead of 8.5 and 9. The width for "Medium" was quiet roomy, I just couldn't stand the uncomfortable footbed. The Moab 3 is so much more comfortable and worth the full price compared to these.

Nice shoes but not for me. Not much arch support. Heavy, heavy shoes. Good width in the toe area. Just not as comfortable as others.

I bought these shoes for the nice bright blue. Sadly the picture totally misrepresents the actual color. It is actually an ugly, blah, grayish, depressing color. I really resent these companies who make the pictures what the product SHOULD be and then you get a tired dull substitute. It's clearly not an accident or the now infamous line about YOUR SCREEN MAY NOT SHOW THE IMAGE CORRECTLY. It's total BS! Yes, I immediately returned these awful shoes!

The shoes too boxy, not that great of a hiking shoe! Disappointed, my go to shoe brand

I bought these hoping for a comfortable shoe. They fit great but there is no cushion in the sole. I guess if I'm keeping them I'll be shopping for a good insert. Pretty disappointed.

I ordered my normal size and then a half size larger and both sizes did not fit. I have slightly wide feet and these fit more like an average width in the wide size. Both are being returned and I’m just done with this brand.

Very hard, unsupportive sole with inflexible-stiff body (sides & vamp/top).

I’ve had some great Merrells in the past but the shoe design seems to have changed and now the arch support is to far back and doesn’t line up with my arch. Too bad because these are very nice hiking shoes but I had to return them.

I've worn Merrell for years - all different styles. My previous Ventilators (size 7) were too big after losing weight so I sold them. Ordered 1/2 size smaller & we're still too big so ordered another 1/2 size smaller which of course are slightly too tight in the forefoot. I bought Moab mid with gore Tex 2 years ago size 6.5 & they fit great with my winter sock, these however don't.

I really wanted these shoes to fit. The toe box is very large and roomy in fact it was too roomy which is why I am returning them. They felt a good half size larger than my usual size 9 shoes. The foot bed is removable which is a plus since I have orthodotic insoles. Even with the extra room taken up by the insoles the shoes were just too big. I am disappointed as they are really nice looking.

My boots didn't come this stiff. That's why I ordered a pair of the shoes. I have been wearing them around the house trying to break them in. Not very happy .

Having fallen in complete love with my first Merrells, Moab 2 Midhigh waterproof shoes, I excitedly ordered Moab 2 Ventilators in the same size without trying them on first. They hurt!

This shoe was heavy and a bit rigid. It felt too clunky. I thought it would be much lighter, seeing it's called 'Ventilator'. I am always a size 10.5 but this one was big. Too much of an overbuilt feeling! Sent it back.

I so wish these shoes had fit. They seem to be of good quality, but unfortunately, they didn't explain that these shoes run at least half a size large and the medium width is really large width.

Not a good fit for my feet. Although a wide toe box, the overall support wasn't there for me. The color and material were very nice.

I have high hope on this hiking shoes after reading all the reviews. However, I am kind of disappointed after trying them on. The side of the feet are a bit tight and the toes boxes have a lot of room. Since the shoes run a bit large, I need to put on thinker socks to reduce the discomfort of the toes boxes.

I have had three previous pairs of Merrell hiking boots/shoes, but these have a horizontal seam in the back of the shoe that gives me blisters. I've tried different socks, gels pads, etc. to no avail. I'm bummed!

I put a lot of miles on my shoes and Merrell is the only brand I wear. When it came time to get a new pair, I couldn't find the Siren Sport that I absolutely loved, so went for my second fave, the Moab. They are heavy and clunky and not very flexible, and have given me blisters! I have NEVER gotten blisters with Merrell shoes before, EVER. So these shoes have really disappointed me.

Just purchased these - comfortable right out of the box - went on a hike this weekend and over ice they were SUPER slippery! I actually took them off and walked up the hill in my socks...others I was with had traction on their shoes :( I'll be returning them this week.

I contacted you for a more cushioned insole and was recommended the Elite which I bought. Still too rigid and hard. Miss my older ortholite insoles you used to sell. Very disappointed I'll have to replace insole with competitor.
