I have always loved the Moab series and have been using them for years. They are good right out of the box to walk for miles. The material is great and the B width is perfect with plenty of toe room.

So glad to finally find these hiking shoes in a Wide Width in size 6! They are so comfortable I can wear them all day without pain in my feet. And they are extremely light weight!

Have never had a pair of shoes that didn't require a little breaking in, until these! Having knee problems and these are supportive, flexible Vibram soles, and Great feeling all around. Size was spot on for me. I believe these, as so many Merrell's do, last a long time!!

I don't remember every having a pair of day hikers that felt so comfortable and supportive the first time I wore them. No break in period needed. My friend was hiking in her new Merrill day hikers but different style than mine and they were not as comfortable. She felt she had to break them in for awhile. So if you want a pair of day hikers that feel like you have been hiking in them for years the first time you put them one, then this is the pair for you. I did size up because I wear a liner and a thicker pair of socks. Has great arch support and narrow heel so my heels do not rise up when hiking. After a 5 mile hike I had no blisters and my feet felt great!

I researched shoes for walking trails and this pair came up as one of the better brands. I purchased the shoes and initially didn't like the style too much. After wearing the pair today for walking there was a remarkable difference than the other shoes I have been using for walking. I will continue to wear this brand. The shoes really surpassed my expectations. No more sore calves.

I took these shoes on their maiden voyage on a moderate+ mountain trail hike. I was pleasantly surprised with the grip of the tread on gravel, rocks, boulders, wet rocks in a creek, paved roads and gravel roads. The toe box is wide, but I like to be able to wiggle my toes, so I like that. At first, the insole felt weird/bumpy in the wrong places while wearing around the house. Switching the insole for a flat foot and plantar fasciitis compatible insole made all the difference for me. I have a second pair coming for when this first pair wears out.

I love these shoes! Wear them all day long and my feet never get tired or bother me. No need for extra inserts either! Going to order my dad a pair to help him. Love Merrell!

These are incredibly sturdy and well made shoes. They are the only decent pair of wide width shoes I've seen, so I knew I had to grab them before they were sold out. They don't have much cushioning but they offer lots of support.
I'd also recommend:
columbia, doc martens

I am impressed with the quality and comfort of these shoes...I wanted a wide shoe that looked and felt good, and this was the only pair I found that looked decent...I have a lot of foot problems (heel spurs) and wide feet, and most wide width shoes I looked at looked tacky to me...I wore these all day around town and they were comfortable...my feet did not get hot or sweaty inside them...I normally wear a 9 wide, but ordered a 10.5 wide due to foot swelling I've been having problems with...fit fine with a lightweight sock, a little snug with a heavier weight sock...these felt good right out of the box, just loosened the laces a bit...if the swelling in my feet goes down I will just put in gel insoles and a heavier sock, and tighten the laces...lots of toe room which is great, my old sneakers were crushing my toes. Just make these in a few more color options, I got the smoke/blue which is nice, I would have preferred a brown or olive...and keep the larger sizes and wide widths in stock!
I'd also recommend:

I absolutely love these. Even though they may look bulky, they are super lightweight, and more comfortable than any of my sneakers. Great traction on slippery hiking trails. It feels like walking on clouds... perfect for hiking!

These were comfortable right out of the box. I did wear them around the house first before taking them on a hike. I also put in insoles as I do with most shoes because my ankle bone is a little low. I purchased them to replace another pair of Merrell's and they are so comfortable on hikes and walks.

I like this hiking shoe. Walking around the hose it felt like the arch was crowding to close to my heel sometimes, it was hard to pinpoint. But during an 8 mile strenuous hike I knew the shoe was perfect, no issues. It was a serious hike too with steep slippery trails, lots of scree, and 1800 foot elevation gain, plus coming back downhill. I bought a 6 1/2 wide and it fit perfectly, see below.
PROS:
1. good fit and well supported, the side ribbing helps stability
2. rugged up front toe protection that can take the rocks
3. good ventilation, my feet were not sweaty
4. laces stayed tied, but I always double knot.
CONS:
1. the insert is rigid, too much for me. I bent the dickens out of the arch area just to soften it up and it helped quite a bit with that feeling like the arch is in the wrong spot.
2. I like to place a gel insert on top of the original insert. But with this shoe I couldn't, it placed way too much arch support in it. I could remove the original insert and place a gel insert and it was great. But I choice to make my first hike without modifying anything. My next choice was to go get a [lain foam insert with no extra arch support, and that is perfect.
3. They don't make shoes like they used to... Everybody is cutting corners these days. There needs to be more material that pulls together over the tongue. I don't like how wide the gap is, the tongue area is almost it's full width. But even New Balance and Teva are doing things like this. Chea[pskates.
Even after all of the above, don't be scared to buy this shoe. It worked great on the trail.

These shoes are wonderful. There's no break in period, they're extremely comfortable and the traction is outstanding. They run a little small. I usually take a size 8 but I needed an 8.5 in these. I highly recommend Merrell and will definitely purchase again.

I have been wearing this model since I began hiking with my daughter years ago. They are always comfortable out of the box; I never have to break them in. They support my feet well. I am not a mountain climber, but I used them and they performed well in the desert sand and rocks of Joshua Tree, on the Adirondack trails, which are always relentlessly rocky and uphill, and, most often, on the flatter woodland trails around home. I wear them daily. I have to replace them every 1-2 years.

These shoes are so comfortable to wear especially for long hikes. The grip underneath the shoes is a 10/10 and my foot feels supported when hiking on rocks and steep surfaces.

Super light and comfy - exactly what I was looking for. Sizing was slightly large... until I put in my insoles (a must for me) so worked out perfectly.

Very excited to use these on the trail! Been using them around the house and on small walks to break them in, but they don't need much breaking in. Good heel control, not too heavy, breathe well for a hiking shoe. Very comfortable.
