Comfort & support, no break in needed. Vibram sole grips well in wet, muddy, icy etc. conditions. Good for everyday wear, camping, hiking. Re: sizing... I adore, but can't wear Merrell's mocs (polar moc) as put pressure on my instep. Can just fit in the ice Mocs w/o socks. No prob with these. And finally, room for toes to move all around but foot is locked in place. Relief! I wear size 6 dress shoe or flip flop, 7 Nike/Reebok. Ice moc 6.5 (no socks). Got this in size 7. Fits perfect with thin & med socks. If wore super thick socks or was adding insoles would have needed to go up to 7.5 to avoid tightness.

I recently replaced an old pair of Moabs with these. I have a business that requires me to be on the trails at least 4 days a week, and Merrells have always been the best for me. I have flat feet, plantar fasciitis, and some other issues, and these are the only shoes I can wear for an extended period of time and my feet/legs/back won't kill me afterwards. Although I don't work/hike through large pools of water, they are waterproof enough for deep snow and rain/mud puddles - they keep my feet dry and warm. They've got good gripping capabilities, and you don't need to break them in (which is my favorite part).

I've been struggling with my feet staying warm and tried a wide width. The difference is amazing! Note to Merrell- please make more of your well constructed boots in a wide width...please!!

I love my shoes. This is my second pair of the same kind. Would recommend them for working and recreation.

A great, comfortable all/around hiking shoe for a beginner or advanced hiker. Handles trails, mud, puddles, rocks quite well and leaves the hiker feeling comfortable throughout!

This shoe is so comfortable, a great weight, true to size fit and great on off-road trails and mixed surface rail to trail hikes.

I have Parkinson's and walking is beyond difficult sometimes, but I refuse to give in. I live on a very rough, but beautiful, sloped property that would be challenging without Parkinson's, but I refuse to give up! I've worn nothing but my Moab's for three years because they strengthen my stance and support my gait so I can hike in my yard with my dogs and sit in our gardens without falling and busting my head. Moabs keep me mobile longer and hold up well! Vital survival tools for 2020!

outstanding durability and waterproofing. A little hotter than the regular but worth it in the wet. The fit is also slightly different from the non waterproof but still worth it to not have wet feet

Best shoes for my feet. Fits well and nice arch support. I use these shoes everywhere. This is my third time purchasing these shoes.

Super comfortable right out of the box. Great for my wide feet. I love the support these give and used them right after I bought them for an active trip to Ecuador. Can't speak to how waterproof they are yet. This is my second pair of these shoes.

Love love love these hikers!!! I wear these everyday with Merrell boot socks and they keep my feet toasty warm and dry.

Sturdy and comfortable. It is a bit heavy and am ready to get them off at end of day, but very comfortable! Will be good on hikes for sure.

These have exceeded my expectations! The restyling of the Moab is superb. I have really bad feet and must be extra particular about the shoes I wear while trying to stay active, and these hikers are perfect for me! They have the right amount of cushion and flexibility while offering superb support. Can't wait to do lots of hiking in the Sangre de Cristos and San Juans as soon as possible!

Terrific hiking shoes! I have the shoe version, rather than the high top. I've only taken them on two hikes, but they kept my feet warm and dry even when I slipped on mud, fell flat, and my feet landing at the edge of the river. No breaking in period. I used to wear a 7.5, but as I've aged, I now wear an 8. I ordered these in an 8W since wide was an option, and am so loving them. Wish I had invested sooner!

These boots were comfortable right out of the box. There's good arch support and the tread makes them very stable, which was a good thing because the first time I wore them we had 12 inches of snow! The temps were in the 20's but the boots were warm and my feet stayed dry.

Great for walks on city streets and local hiking trails. Comfortable.

After foot surgery I needed a comfortable shoe with structure. This is my second pair and I could not be happier with my purchases. I walk over 5 miles each day. Over half of the walk is a trail through the woods mixed with pavement and gravel. These are great for all kinds of surfaces.

I had a broken foot a few years ago and need support and also a bunion , so finding shoes that are comfortable are hard to find . These have support and the wide with is good for bunion ,as I wear them more I know they will get more comfortable .

I enjoy hiking with this shoes. At first try at home, I felt it was too heavy. However, I feel so great at real hiking. I wore it to hike at Josha tree national park, and Deukmejian wilderness Park comfortably. I sometimes had problems hiking down and felt slippery with other shoes, but i didn't have problem at all with this shoes. Highly recommend!
