I bought these boots with trepidation because a) they were dirt cheap, (why? what does everybody know that I don't?) and b) I have highly intolerant feet: arthritis, and nearly constant plantar fascitis on one foot. Boy was I wrong! The first time I wore them, I went nonstop for 6 hours on a hot, muggy afternoon digging out underbrush & hauling it away. And the cranky feet were as comfortable as they have been for literally months if not years

Originally ordered and got these in size 9 1/2 and they were too small. Columbia does seem inconsistent with sizing . Zappos allowed for an exchange and UPS pickup so I ordered in size 10. The size 10 arrived two days later and the fit is much better. Only time will tell how well they hold up. I have ordered Columbias before and I'm generally pleased wit them. For some, 9 1/2 fit good, for others, the 9 1/2 ran small.

Fits well and is wide enough. Doesn't pull up in the heel. Very light. I like lots of arch support and cushion and these have regular amounts so if you don't have heel spurs or very high arches these will be fine.

I bought these because I couldn't resist the adorable purple / lilac color. I have wide feet, so I purchase my regular size in a Wide. Have to say, it is the most narrow "wide" size I've worn. Still pretty narrow in my toe box, enough to hurt my toes when going downhill for more than 4 miles. The color is pretty, but if you're using these to actually go hiking, it just gets covered in dirt and the visual appeal of it pretty much goes away.

Good looking boots. Ordered 8W however was a bit stiff especially in sole. Also wish the second to top hook was closer to the tongue for better adjustment at the ankle. Ended up going with different brand that gave more flex in the sole.

LOVE that these are so lightweight and not chunky. They do run a bit small. I normally get 7.5 for activewear shoes and got 7 and these fit perfect. They're super cute as well. However, I find the ankle support to be lacking and it doesn't have the extra hooks by the ankles to make it tighter at the joint like how some brands do. I wouldn't wear these on rocky or super uneven terrain. I would recommend Vasque leather hiking boots for those kinds of hikes!

Super cute hiking boots. I was sad that they are a little too tight in the toes, so I am returning them.

Comfortable except for the upper ankle area. The shoes' tongue irritated my feet, even though I wore boot socks.

Great boots. Fits well and doesn't need to be broken in at all. Was able to wear them right as I got them and didnt have sore feet at the end of the day.

Didn't require breaking in, relatively comfortable as well! I would probably have given 5/5 if I went with the wide fit (I tend to bounce back and forth even with the same manufacturer) for more comfort, but needed it urgently. It's great for what's worth, and could still fit a thicker pair of socks.

These are a great looking boot. I typically wear an 8.5 WW. They are snug, but comfortable in the main shoe area. However, I am returning these. There is a seam on the padded collar that rubs right on my ankle bone, I can only imagine the blister after wearing these trekking through the wild.

They felt very comfortable, light weight and well supported ankles. I went on a 7-8 mile hike, felt great without any issues walking uphills. But after I got home I felt pain/sore of all my toes. Middle toes of both feet felt about to have blisters as if they were burdened with tremendous pressure. I got 1/2 size bigger than my actual shoe size just because I wear thick hiking socks. I do feel free and roomy with my toes. Wonder why my toes felt so painful? Poor padding? No arch support. I know my feet are lot happier with good arch support. Will try different socks next time I go on the same hike, if they give me same pain, sorry will have to go back.

I bought these as a gift for my girlfriend, and she really liked the look and feel. She tried them on right away , and said that they fit well!

I wanted to love these boots because I have a pair of 15 year old Columbia hiking boots that have been the best… just finally now falling apart. These were a tad too narrow for me in the toe box so sadly I had to return them.

I bought a lot of hiking shoes to try, and these were very very stiff. Although I know that stiff can be good for hiking, it was not my preferred style. Great looking and fitting shoes.

I was looking for a boot that would replace the vasque ones I love but which are no longer made. I've flat feet and have had surgery on one. I work around my property and it is very uneven given all the gopher mounds! With my feet issues I need to wear orthotics and have good ankle support. These fit the bill. Very comfortable. Good toe box and support. It's my first time with Columbia footwear and I'm very satisfied with the quality. I'd give it a 4.5.

This is not a super rugged hiking boot, but avid, burly hikers are going to know that just by looking at the pictures. This boot is a great errand-running, dog walking, darn-I-parked-next-to-a-puddle, getting around town, and occasionally hitting some easy trails shoes. Lightweight and way more stylish than a true/clunky hiking boot. VERY comfortable and will be also be my choice for traveling in the non-summer months.

These are fairly comfortable and light hiking shoes. They give me shin splints on pavement but should be fine for hiking. They are fairly warm with winter socks. I bought a half size larger than my normal size and I am glad I did. I think they would have been too tight in my normal size.

I bought these for my girlfriend and she says they are very comfortable as well as being "cute". Living in the Northeast it is often necessary to combine form and function and these meet both criteria.

I ordered these wides hoping they would be wide enough. I wear 10D & ordered 10 Wide. First Day out: Great but next day out, my feet were slightly swollen & they hurt my little toes! I really like them & I'm going to have them stretched & hope for the best

Where boot bends on top of boot when walking digs into my top of my toes. They didn’t work for me. :(

These are definitely decent boots for the price. I got them as every-day footwear for the winter, where I'm frequently walking in snow for short distances. The mid sole-outer sole combination is a bit hard for my liking and there's not much arch support. For "real" hiking on Colorado trails tho', I'll stick to my Keen Targhee Miss.

I had the regular Newton Ridge for years before trying the Plus. I love how comfortable they are. I originally planned on breaking them in for 5 trail miles, but they were so comfortable and didn't give me any blisters so I wore them for 18 trail miles instead! The only con is the ankle feels more loose than my older version of these.
