As the title says, I ripped my sandals apart. Was out fishing traversing some boulders and both back and side strap ripped out of the sole. This is the second pair of Columbia sandals that this issue has happened to me before. Didn't have them for very long maybe half a year. Maybe I was working them to hard who knows.
I still think its a good sandal, just dont work them as hard. Not like these are Mountain Hardwear sandals.

First, I love Columbia products for style, comfort, quality and function - but these sandals did not live up to the high expectations I have for this brand.
For starters, they were tough to break in, extremely stiff fabric that was scratchy and uncomfortable. Then, when they were finally broken in they completely fell apart! I mean completely, within an hour of the first one blowing out the other fell apart too. (Full story below)
I bought these shoes in the fall of 2017 and never really wore them until spring/summer of 2018. But, I only wore them a few times due to the discomfort and because they did not want to break in.
I got them out of the back of my closet this spring and finally broke them in after dealing with the discomfort. All total, I may have worn these two dozen times which only included 1 or 2 full days, the rest were short experiences.
As stated, once they were finally broken in the failed. Very disappointed in this product.
Abbreviated full story:
First one back strap came loose from the sole, I tightened the ankle strap to get through the day as I had no other option. An hour later the same thing happened to the other shoe and I tightened that ankle strap to finish the fishing trip. Then, as I was leaving the dock the first shoes strap came loose from the sole at the toe making it completely unusable. I endured a two hundred yard walk across hot sand and pavement in my bare feet to end the day.

While on vacation in the Bahamas, a rear strap pulled out of shoe rendering it useless. The straps terminate about an inch into sole and are merely glued. I would not buy these again.

This shoe looks good, and would be a great product except that the buckle is placed where it rubs the ankle bone on the outside of the foot. They tried to remedy this by placing a pad beneath the buckle, but it does not help. I walked around for a few minutes and was already in pain. I will be returning these.
