I have both knees replaced and a hip replacement as well. I am 44years old and had the replacements when I was 40. Since then, I have had CRPS in both knees as well as the bottoms of both feet. Very painful so I was looking for something with a lot of cushioning but an athletic shoe.
I have found it with the ATR3 as well as with the vanquish 3.

I wore out three pairs of Bondi's 3 and 4's and they were both far better than the 5's. The 5's are not the typical Hoka cushioning. I will not buy another pair of 5's. Hopefully, the 6's will be better.

I wrote to Hoka asking if we'll ever witness true wide shoes in our lifetime.I discovered Hoka few years ago and bought total of eight pairs hoping that every other one will finally fit me.No luck at all.Bought the Bondi 5 right after it was introduced and wore it daily for 2-3 hours and was thinking that finally there is a shoe I could wear that is not too tight.Did a road trip for the last five days and took only the Bondi's with me and wore them for 14-15 hours a day. After five days in pain I finally got home.During all this time my feet was numb, blisters everywhere, uncomfortable etc.Adding also the hardness of the shoes bottom we are far away from the smooth and pleasant cushioning of the previous shoes despite the fact that they are awfully tight.I think it's time for the people responsible of making decisions at Decker to take off the pink glasses and hear what the real world customers have to say/remember the "new" Coke?/.Also I am not a runner and use the shoes for walk only.

The Shoes tongue is too long and after a 20 mile run - it had worn and bloodied my skin...it irritated and rubbed the area on the ankle

I REALLY wanted to like this shoe. When I first tried it on, it felt amazing on my feet. Light weight and extremely comfortable on the bottom of my feet. Then, I wore them to a staff meeting at work immediately after wearing them. Just from sitting, I had to take them off multiple times so my feet could get circulation back to them, especially my right foot. As an RN, I stand on my feet for 12 hours at a time and regularly work 3-4 shifts in a row. I'm athletic, not overweight, but have horribly wide feet. A 4E is what I am used to, and these just wont cut it. To anybody who has a normal sized foot, treat yourself to these shoes, as they are AMAZING. As for you wide footed people out there, STEER CLEAR!

Off its Rocker
Just got the new Bondi B 5. It is very different from the previous models some good things and some not so good.
Pros-
It's looks are vastly improved
It softer and seems more cushioned than the Bondi B 4 more like the 3rd model.
The laces are flat making it much easier to lace and stay laced
The shoe is much more comfortable than before.
More forefoot room
Improved outsole for durability
Cons-
Really only one negative buts it's a big one. The rocker sensation is all but gone. The shoe lands flat and toe off is not ramped like before making it harder to roll past the plush EVA. If you take the Bondi B 4 and set it on the ground and press down on the toe raising the heel off the ground and let go the shoe rocks back and forth 3 to 4 times. With the Bondi B 5 doing the same thing the shoe lands flat on the heel and does not rock at all. It feels like they changed the last all together making it l it just a Clifton with more EVA.
Running in the shoe is still a pleasure but not being able to rock the shoe to experience a forward roll via a ramped toe off is very disappointing. Many earlier Hoka models had a huge rocker feeling with dynamic toe off, newer models have a much tamer rocker with some feeling that they have none at all. I can only hope being a loyal Hoka runner from the very first shoe that they will put a more dynamic rocker in future models.

Feels great but it's the 2nd pair of Hoka's I've returned this year. Poor quality construction as compared to the more popular brands.

I miss the old shoes. I wore a pair a Stinson Trail at work (hospital) until they were unpresentable. Ran in a pair of the old gray Bondis until they fell apart. I bought my first pair of Altras because they felt more "Hoka" than the Hokas I tried on at my local dealer. Five pair of Altras later, I went and tried on some new Hokas with fingers crossed-no dice. I'm concerned that the zero drop of Altra is not the best for those who work long hours on hard floors and I do not like them nearly as much as my old Hokas for work. But, alas, the old Hoka cush is still unobtainium. Maybe it is just be, but I really don't want to drop the cash on some new Stinsons hoping for a break-in that makes them feel like they used to that may not happen.

The right shoe feels like i have something under the outside of my foot. It is the seam where the two materials come together .

I've been battling some foot pain and was looking for a shoe with loads of padding that would allow me to continue to run on harder surfaces, without aggravating my injuries. Unfortunately these were somewhat of a letdown and resulted in my returning the shoes.
The padding was not as plush as I'd expected from a brand like HOKA. Overall the shoe felt thick, stiff and heavy. Despite the length of the shoe being correct, my heel would lift out of the shoe on a regular basis. Also, when down hills my foot would routinely slide in the shoe which put me on a fast track to blister city. It felt as though I was standing on this giant platform but the upper portion of the shoe wasn't' able to secure my foot enough prevent the heel lift and foot slide.
I was happy with HOKA's liberal return policy and in all honesty, I wouldn't have bought the shoes if they didn't offer returns after use. I may try them again in the future but for now I'll be looking elsewhere.

the the shoes are just ok. nothing special. they're not like the hoka's I bought 3 years ago. they don't have the super cushion that made you attract my business. I'll probably start looking at other brands in the future.

I have been a religious fan of Hokas... backpacking in the Tors and running in Bondis and using them for casual wear since the Bondi 2 and you've ruined the shoe! The cushioning in the 5 is stiff like other "lesser" shoes and the flexibility is poor. Bondis were the only shoes that I could run in with my chronic plantar fasciitis and I now have to go find a new shoe. There is no way these are still "plush" cushioned shoes!
The shoes now also have inflexible plastic labels on the tongue. Why?
I am SO disappointed!

This shoe has serious durability issues. I purchased these to ease back into running after a hip injury. I have run in them a grand total of 30 miles and the rubber tread is already pulling away from the sole. For 150 dollars? ridiculous.

Just got these Bondi 5 sneaks and found the arch to be high and quite uncomfortable. The insole/sock liner dig into the bottom of my foot making for a very uncomfortable run. I will be returning them.
My Challenger 3 ATR's were very comfortable but the uppers began to tear within the first year. I don't put high mileage on my shoes so that was disappointing. Hoka did give me a credit which I used to purchase the Bondi 5.
I love the cushioning of the Hokas but I'm not sure I'll give them a third try.

I really loved these shoes for running distance (>10 miles) on hard surfaces. They are cushy and very comfortable. The 2 star rating is because they don't last at all. After 200 miles the bottoms are completely worn out. I got a pair for each of my daughters and they experienced the same thing. For 150 bucks per pair I expected to get more than 2 months of use. I would not buy these again.

Sadly, the arch is not high enough for me. Also didn't care for the inflexibility.
I wear a wide shoe and ordered the mens wide....could have been wider for my square little foot.
Sorry, I really wanted to love this shoe but didn't. Thank you for the awesome return policy.

I like the shoe but the shoelace broke the first time I tied it. All I wanted was a new shoelace but they said I had to return the shoes and get a new pair. Seems weird that they would pay for all those shipping costs instead of just sending me a shoelace but I'll do it.

I wanted to like these shoes, but after multiple runs including two long runs, the shoes continued to cause pain in the bottoms and sides of my feet. I even had followed others advice and purchased a size larger then the recommended "perfect fit" size. I am lucky I did because who knows how much worse my feet would have hurt. It seems the mid-sole area is the main issue at least for me.

I really wanted to like these shoes. They were light and I liked the looks of the the shoe. I had read that the toe box was roomier (that isn't true) and I purchased the shoes one size larger than previous Hoka One One shoes that I had purchased in the past. On my first run I ended up with skin rubbed off the top of one of my toes on my right foot and I had pain in the same area across the top off my toes on my left foot. I chalked it up to the fact that they were new. I bandaged up two days later and had a good run but the same area was still sore. Took another day off and tried a third run, the shoes still hurt and after half a mile I changed my shoes to my old Nikes and after I was done I boxed these up and sent them back. Maybe I should have gotten them in a wider size but I don't wear wide shoes in Nike or Brooks. I love the cushion in Hoka shoes but I am done.

I use the product to run in, about 10 miles per week, and also for daily wear. The problem is this is my second pair and the soles come off so easily for some reason. (second pair of Bondi 5, 11.5 wide size). I am going to send these back in hope to exchange for something else .
