I wear the Mizuno Wave Riders as well as these GTX's for rainy, cold or wet days! I love this shoe due to the extra traction and weather protection element. I also like to run in the grass to keep off the concrete when possible so these allow me to keep my feet dry which is nice when the temp is below 50! I love the lightweight feel of these especially since they still offer protection and cushioning. NOTE: I noticed another reviewer state that these allowed his/her feet to get wet in a creek crossing and then didn't dry. I do think an all weather should could be confusing in the element of water resistancy. Once a shoe is fully saturated with water (i.e. by wearing in a creek when entire foot is submerged) it's the same property that makes the shoe weather resistant that also makes the water hard to drain out unless dumped outside down. Therefore all weather shoes shouldn't be worn through water and rather only in water, i.e. light rain, dew, etc. I'll also note that every 50K I've ran (4) all had creek crossings and in all I worn a regular road shoe that stayed wet all race but did at least drain.

I bought these shoes for an upcoming trail run. I have been wearing Mizuno running shoes for a couple years now and have been very satisfied with their products. Just to warn others, I had to cross a creek that came up to my shins. The water that went into my shoes never came out. I had to stop running and take off my shoes to dump out the water. My feet stayed wet the entire 50K race! It was miserable and my feet slid around in the shoes constantly due to the elevation changes. I would NOT recommend these shoes for runs that had any type of water element to it!!! I won't be wearing these again!!!
