These Asics did not fit well and were not true to size. I usually wear a 7.5. Went up to an 8 and they were still too snug at toe box. Went up to 8.5 and they are too big.

Arch support is lacking. Not much support.

I was really excited to buy these shoes as they had good reviews for arch support and came in a wide size, however when I got them I noticed that the insole was not wide (this was hidden by the insert) and when I tried exercising in these shoes, I noticed that my foot hund over the sides due to the lack of support and the narrower-than-expected width.

The only reason I purchased these was because I ***LOVED*** my GEL-Contend 3. Same brand (ASICS), same model (GEL-Contend), same size (8D), only one model newer (4 instead of 3) and yet.....these are NOT comfortable!!! (uncomfortable sneakers = oxymoron) Stupidly ASICS changed the cut so the back comes up higher than the previous model and the angle pushes your foot forward. At the same time the _TOE BOX_ is much shallower making the fabric press down on the tops of my large toes. I also had to fiddle with the tension of the laces thinking that was the problem. Nonetheless something about this sneaker is making the metatarsal bones of my left foot hurt. Thank God Zappos offered me a 30-Day Runlimited Guarantee. I love Zappos.

boy Asics has dropped the ball. all I have tried are cramped in the toe and I usually wear a narrow. I own these from a couple years ago. totally destroyed my right lil toe. but cheap price. I tried these with the contend 5 the 5 was better.. but still cramped and hurt my right toe. too bad have worn asics for years. Actually went to brooks they used to be to wide for me. but they fit better now. returned these. Thanks Zappos for your great policies.

I love Asics. I always know I can order my size and that the fit will be right every time. They hold up well and give nice support for my high arches.

I absolutely love Asics as my go to workout shoe for my wide feet. Great support and great fit in the toe box. I wear these for weight lifting, gym cardio and walking and they hold up really well.

My teen was wearing these and so I gave them a try as well. We like this style more than other Asics because other models dig into the back of our ankles, the back of these are lower and more comfortable. Wish they came in more colors/designs though. I recently tried to switch to Brooks after reading excellent reviews, but find these much more comfortable in the toe area.

This is my second pair of these sneakers/running shoes in black, and I bought a third pair in gray. I find them to be extremely comfortable; I wear them with orthotics. I use them for walking/gym and everyday. Interestingly, many people have remarked on how nice looking they are, not a comment you would expect about a running shoe. I wore them on a trip in Portugal last year. They didn't feel too clunky to wear with a nicer pair of slacks, and I walked all over with them.

Be sure to go up AT LEAST a 1/2 size. I am an 8 in everything and went up to a 9 (thick socks) and glad I did because the toe box is extremely narrow. With the 9, I can spread my toes. Nothing worse than confined toes in a running shoe. Other than that, I am finding these comfortable and wearable for several hrs. without any problems. The sole has plenty of soft "give" and the insole plenty of cushion. The arch support is not extreme thank goodness.... its just enough. I have painful, narrow, flat, bony feet and have a hard time finding ANY sneaker that works for me... These have been a blessing so far.

Asics gel shoes fit my feet perfectly and are comfortable at the gym or to wear all day. Highly recommend.

I have just bought two more pairs of these shoes. Last year I bought a pair in black, wore them on a trip with alot of walking, and have worn them to the gym and to walk all year. I bought another pair in black and one in gray. For some reason people always comment on how nice these shoes are. I put orthotics in them and am happy to have found them.
