I love Asics...they are the only brand of sneakers I buy. I have orthotics and have had bunion surgery so I am very picky about my shoes. I love the wide toe box and the style is good. I am using this pair exclusively as my walking shoes and I am piling on the miles! If you are new to Asics - they run small so order up.

Very cushy. They seem shorter than other ASICS I have in size 11. This is not the right style for me. I'm much better with Venture 6, but most of those are dark and I wanted light color so I gave these a shot. They're going back. .

Just a basic tennis shoe for everyday wear, just what I was looking for. Good cushion, and enough netting to allow my feet to breathe, but not so much that I feel unsupported. I wear orthotics and kept the thin insole in when placing the orthotics to allow a bit more cushion, and still feel there is plenty of room.

I purchased this pair of shoes for work. My job requires long duration of standing & walking. I have for over 10 years worn Dansko Professional Mules for work. I started having issues with Dansko shoe due to developed a bunionette. I read the multiple reviews regarding the ASICS Gel Contend 4 and ordered the size of running shoe I have worn in past. I have been wearing size 8 1/2 in Saucony. I have not worn ASICS prior to this purchase. I am very pleased with fit, support, & style. This style of shoe allows support, comfort, and a lightweight feel. I have not had inflammation to bunionette in wearing these & wore 10 hour of standing/walking in Operating Room — not requiring to break them in. So very pleased.

I usually wear a size 7 but purchased a 7.5 after reading several reviews on how shoes should fit. If you like your shoes snug then buy the size you wear. They fit perfectly in the 7.5. I'm a nurse and have a lot of lower back pain but that has stopped since I started wearing these. I now own 3 different colors of this shoe.

I finally found a comfortable pair of walking/running shoes. I’ve totally worn down my favorite pair of ASICS and couldn’t find the style numberto replace them. Thanks to Zappos wonderful return policy i finally found the right shoe. Fit wise, I have a narrow to medium foot. The toe area is comfortably roomy and as always, they run 1/2 size smaller than my regular size. Great shoe!

after reading all the reviews stating the toe area was too small and to order a size up i decided to chance it and order my regular size, im glad i did order my regular size the toe area was only minimal tight for a day then once they broke in i didnt have any toe issues .

I bought these to replace a pair of Asics' Gel-Evate 3 that I love. I wrote to Asics and they said the Evates are no longer available and recommended this style. I've only tried them on in the house, but they seem fine. I always buy athletic shoes (sneakers) 1/2 size larger than dress or street shoes. I've had good luck with Asics and I LOVE Zappos!!!

My niece calls these my rock-n-roll sneakers. My feet ache. I like to walk. I bought these and I have a new spring to my step. I wore them around my home the first day I received them. No hard break in period. I wore them out the next 3 days in a row and feel great!

I was led to order this shoe in a 1/2 size larger from the reviews I read but having ordered them in both my regular size and a half size larger, I went with my regular size. Not sure why the fit was described as small. I did not experience that.

I am having metatarsal pain when I work out and these shoes are the perfect amount of cushion for that part of my foot. I do have to add an arch support. With the arch support I still have plenty of room in the toe. Im a size 7 but I ordered a 7.5 for room. They are great! Im ordering 2 more pairs.

I LOVE ???????? heals feel so cushioned, which is why I wanted them. So pleased!!

Use these as walking shoes outside and on the treadmill. Very comfortable but not bulky. Love them!

Good low profile sneakers for gym workouts or out-and-about. My second pair of this style. I wore the gel cushion in my first ones out completely after a year or more in the gym, plus countless hours sightseeing in Equador! I only wish I could get another pair of the plainer looking black with a white sole for travel as they were not so “touristy” looking! I took off one star for style only because of the lack of a good, simple, black and white classic color combo.

Bought these shoes to use exclusively at the gym and nowhere else. They have great cushioning. I'm a huge fan of ASICS for running as they offer a lot of support. I love the gray/aquamarine combo too. I usually wear an 8.5 and got an 8.5 and it's a tiny bit long in the toe, but I think not enough to go a size down.

I had to go see a specialist about my feet. and I bought a pair of their shoes. I never opened the box.

The sizing is off. Bought this shoe for my daughter who normally wears a 8.5. She needs a size 10 for this model. Thankfully she had tried on the Gel-Contend 4 in a shoe store before (they didn't have the color she liked, hence online shopping after all) so we avoided sending shoes back and forth with Zappos before finding the right size. Otherwise the shoe seems great so far. My daughter likes the colors and says they are really comfortable.

I work in a hospital so I’m on my feet a lot. I love ASICS for my work shoes. The gel contend 4 seems like the mouth of the shoe is a little higher than the gel contend 3 and 3 days into wearing these all day my ankles feel a little tender like the shoe is pressing up on them. I’m sure they’ll soften up and break I. And it won’t be an issue. I still love these shows. Plus they’re cute.

These Asics did not fit well and were not true to size. I usually wear a 7.5. Went up to an 8 and they were still too snug at toe box. Went up to 8.5 and they are too big.

Arch support is lacking. Not much support.

I was really excited to buy these shoes as they had good reviews for arch support and came in a wide size, however when I got them I noticed that the insole was not wide (this was hidden by the insert) and when I tried exercising in these shoes, I noticed that my foot hund over the sides due to the lack of support and the narrower-than-expected width.

The only reason I purchased these was because I ***LOVED*** my GEL-Contend 3. Same brand (ASICS), same model (GEL-Contend), same size (8D), only one model newer (4 instead of 3) and yet.....these are NOT comfortable!!! (uncomfortable sneakers = oxymoron) Stupidly ASICS changed the cut so the back comes up higher than the previous model and the angle pushes your foot forward. At the same time the _TOE BOX_ is much shallower making the fabric press down on the tops of my large toes. I also had to fiddle with the tension of the laces thinking that was the problem. Nonetheless something about this sneaker is making the metatarsal bones of my left foot hurt. Thank God Zappos offered me a 30-Day Runlimited Guarantee. I love Zappos.

boy Asics has dropped the ball. all I have tried are cramped in the toe and I usually wear a narrow. I own these from a couple years ago. totally destroyed my right lil toe. but cheap price. I tried these with the contend 5 the 5 was better.. but still cramped and hurt my right toe. too bad have worn asics for years. Actually went to brooks they used to be to wide for me. but they fit better now. returned these. Thanks Zappos for your great policies.
