I purchased the sneakers for a friend so it is difficult to know how the fit is. I will say that he had those sneakers before and loved them so much that he had to have them again.

This is my second pair of Sonoma 3s. I had the Sonoma 2 as well and it had a more durable sole that didn’t wear as quickly. I’m satisfied with the 3s but color choices are limited and I and waiting for the 4 to come out, hopefully soon.

Felt true to size. Good room for toes. Good overall shoe for everyday wear.

These shoes are great for moderate hiking. I don’t plan to run in them though. They don’t feel like a great quality asic running shoe but excellent for walking and moderate hiking in my opinion.

I bought these after a previously told attempt to replace my worn out New Balance mt690v2s. I read as much as I could find on sizing and ended up ordering the same size as my old New Bakances (12-4E). Size-for-size, these are very slightly narrower in the mid-foot and slightly longer in the toebox. The heel feels different because the collar is a little higher with more traditional padding compared to the 690v2s, which had a more modern, minimalistic heel and padding. Also, the upper on these is more traditional and partially sewn, so it's slightly stiffer. Overall I like these. They're not as stylish as the 690v2s but the fit and feel are very similar. The hardest part to adjust to was the taller heel and thicker padding. If I tie these to tight the heel padding rubs my ankle bone causing blisters. But I tied them a little looser and no problems. I wish they were more stylish. They're not ugly by any means and I think for running shoes they look better than most, but they're a but too "clunky" looking in my opinion (taller, boxy, sewn toebox and raised sole under the arch) for me to enjoy wearing casually with jeans. Overall these are solid all-purpose running shoes. I look forward to wearing these out on the pavement and trails. They're definitely made to last. But I'll be keeping my spare 690v2s around to wear casually with jeans.

Too narrow at the arch. I felt like my feet were falling in. I love my previous Asics, and just like the others commented, these are too narrow!

I have owned the Sonoma 1, 2 and 3 and I don't feel the 3 is as good as the 1 and 2. Still a good shoe but the upper is thinner and less supportive and it does run a little smaller than previous models.

I really like this show. I would love it if my toes did not feel a little cramped. I would also like a better color selection, specifically white.

Fits tighter than most Asics. Had two pairs of 10 1/2 Sonoma 2's and they fit perfect. So I was surprised when the Sonoma 3's caused blisters on my pinky toe...Rick

This is my 4th pair of Asics and all have been a size 12 except for this one. It's is quite narrow. I'm now waiting for size 13 to be in stock. All this after ordering 3x and getting an email a few days later that size 12 was out of stock.

Bought these and two other models in a 9.5. these wouldn't fit. If you want it, buy it bigger.

I do not recommend this shoe. Having read the reviews, I knew it was running narrow and ordered a 4E width; but, it was still more narrow than the normal size D width that I wear. What has happened to Asics????? Please give the manufacturer of your shoes copies of true fitting shoes, and then watch them make it, until they get the hang of it. Please....

The ASICS GEL-Sonoma 3 ran shorter and narrower than marked. They're very supportive.

They are very comfortable as expected from ASICS. They do run small however. I would say at least 1/2 a size if not full size. Hard to say about narrow as shoe was just bit too small. Changed to thinner socks and they did stretch out after a week to be very comfortable. I have ordered another pair, just bigger size. Like the more muted color choice of grey and black.

It is probably the best fitting shoe I have ever had, it is super comfy, somehow with this goretex you don't fell even cold when you stand in icy water. Cushioning is nice as well... but the sole is really rubish. It's ok on dry flat, but running downhill on dirt felt really unsuportive - like a road shoe (btw. I have some 82kg so the problem isn't my weight). Where it totaly fails is in wet - when you step on anything smooth and wet (or the shoe is wet) than they slip more than ice skates :( So I totally love them, but they have ruined my trust in asics sole in wet

A fairly stiff shoe - took a while to break in. Main complaint is that several holes are wearing through the exterior fabric after 4 months of light-moderate use.

I have been wearing ASICS running shoes for about 20 years, always a size 44, medium width. These are shorter and narrower than any previous ASICS items I have purchased. In particular, the instep is very tight and more shallow than any previous model I have purchased. It will have to be returned. More important than the size change is the degradation in quality that is apparent. I had purchased a prior generation of this this model (GEL Sonoma) for my wife. That shoe model was robustly constructed and has served her well for many years. This model is much lighter and poorly constructed with thin uppers which look like they have been glued in without any stitching, and an outsole no more substantial or supportive than a regular running shoe. I do not think it is suitable for trail running. I am disappointed that a brand which I have stuck with for years has gone downhill, and will have to look at other possibilities.

Normally wear a 12 4e and ordered a 12.5 4e and was too small to get on my foot. Return policy insures that I will buy from Zappos in the future. Painless

Hard shoe! Wow, this shoe is like a hard piece of plastic. From the top of the shoe opening to the sides, to the sole, it's a very stiff shoe.

The color of blue is pretty unappealing when viewed in real life. The shoe model itself (Sonoma 3) seems like a great trail running shoe though.

The reviews speak for themselves and I did not follow my own advice of trusting the reviews. This ASICS style is the essence of narrow to a point I had to force it onto my foot. I do not have a wide foot, many pairs of ASICS later w/o incident - the width of this shoe is extremely odd and narrow beyond compare.
