Beware Aspics has changed their sizing! I pooh-poohed other reviewers I had to go from a 9.5 EE to a 10 EEEE after years of wearing the same size Nimbus

MEET MY NEW GARDENING SHOE I made the mistake of ordering this from Asics instead of Zappos. If they don't take it back, I'm going to rake leaves in it. If I can stand it. This is by far the worst first run I've had with ANY running shoe. I read the reviews and thought that the size issue was only for people with wide feet. I have a narrow one, and these things laced up wiiiiiide, and felt short. On just one 4.65 mile run I felt pain in my toes, bottoms of my feet, and shins. I am not going up a half-size as I just think there are better options out there for the money. And because I'm not convinced more length would make up for the width problem nor the bottom-of-foot discomfort. I have never, ever, given a bad review. But today, I felt compelled to warn my fellow runners. STRONG AVOID.

Ordered these for my boyfriend. He likes them but felt they were a touch narrow. He’s been running in them for a few weeks now and says they are very cushioned while not being too heavy.

I've been a Nimbus guy for well over a decade, so I was skeptical of the reviews stating that the fit was so dramatically different, that I would need to go up an entire size and also order wider than normal. The reviews were right! How can this be, for my beloved Asics?! I went from a perfect fit in Nimbus 18's, at size 11.5, D width, to the Nimbus 19 at a 12.5, EE width! I'm still giving these kicks 5 stars all around, though. Once I found the right (new) fit, the improvements were noticeable over last year's model. The tongue feels softer, more plush, and springy-er ... meaning that you could run with looser laces if you prefer without the shoe slipping off. Last year's Nimbus, for me, took more breaking-in time because the back of the shoe was so high that it pushed into the back of my ankle upon ankle flexion. That's gone, with the 19! They've modified the back with plushy heavenliness that cradles your heel (which is probably one reason for the size differential). I do hope that next year they get the sizing right. For frame of reference; I have a normal width foot, a moderately high arch, and absolutely love this cloud-like cushioned shoe.

Great marathon shoe and I have used the Nimbus for years, but I noticed they have put more padding behind the heel between my last pair and the 19's so I had to go up one half size to compensate for my toes hitting the front.

I purchased these for my husband who runs quite a bit and has extremely wide feet. He said these were the most comfortable shoes he's ever had. Definitely worth the extra money!

I love these shoes. I work in health care and I'm on my feet all day long. I can work out after a 12 hour shift and feel great after.

Sixth pair of Nimbus model for this Clydesdale. Wide feet and these work well even with orthotic.

Shoes have plenty of cushion and bounce. They do run 1/2 a size small and toe box is a little tight. I always buy asics so I know there is a little break in required. Overall outstanding shoe, very comfortable!

My husband has worn Asics for 10+ years. He has always worn a size 13. These are great shoes, but I have had to send them back for a size 14. I ordered the 13.5 after reading the reviews, but these were still too small. I also had to order the EE width.

I read the reviews of this shoe before ordering. It's clear that the Gel Nimbus is being made smaller and, especially, narrower every year. When I first started with them years ago, I wore the D. Starting with the 15's or so, I had to move up to a EE width. In the 18's, which I returned, the EE was too narrow and the 4E was too wide. For the 19's, the 4E is now a reasonable fit, if even slightly on the snug side. The length is shorter, but not as significantly so as the width is narrower. I'd still recommend a full size up, not more. As to the feel, it is definitely less cushiony. More like the Gel Cumulus used to be. I wouldn't call it thin or stiff, just less plush than earlier versions. I don't find this to be a big issue. I would point out that the midsole of the shoe curves in more than some other shoes so even if you find enough room in the forefoot, you might find a slight pinch in the center. I feel it on the outer edge of the center of my foot. Not enough to reject the shoe, but there. I have always worn Asics and the other brands I have tried don't work for me for one reason or another. It is certainly getting more challenging with Asics' sizing issues, but if you can forget what the size says or what size you have worn before, you can still likely find a good fit. Just be prepared to experiment a little. Zappos is always easy on the returns, so no worries there.

These shoes are very comfortable. I’m not a runner, but I am an RN working 12 hour shifts full time. I need shoes with cushion and support and these fit the bill. My biggest complaint is the durability. The soles are still in good shape after roughly 7 months, but there are holes near the pinky toes on both shoes. I wonder if the width is to blame. I’ve noticed this is a recurring theme with this type of material. My coworkers and wife have had this same issue with other ASICS and Brooks as well. I would buy again but not at the full price of $170.00 after tax. Thanks again to Zappos for being awesome!

I bought these at the recommendation of my podiatrist to help with pronation and plantar fasciitis. I wear them infrequently, not every day, and never to run. They wore out in less than four months at the toe and especially the sole treads. Total rip-off/waste for how much I paid for these shoes.

Not a fan. I tried Asics (instead of Brooks) for a change. The wide (EE) feel tight, and this is the first pair of athletic shoes that have given me blisters.

I am so glad I read the reviews before purchasing this shoe. My children and I have always purchased Asics GEL- Nimbus and loved them. The 19 is so narrow!! My son is normally a D had to get a 4E!

I have had the Gel Nimbus 19 Width 4-E before and they fit fine. However these new shoes are too narrow for my wide foot. They were previously made in China, and now they're made in Vietnam, and they apparently are not using the same last as in China. That's the widest width they have, so I guess I'm out of luck now.

ASICS are high quality, perfect price, comfortable fit, and make a sound fashion statement without being over the top. I have been an ASICS customer for 15-years. They are the only shoes I would ever consider running in, wearing at the gym, and for wearing in cities, museums, parks, etc. ASICS fit in, fit on, and are a fit above!

I have worn the GEL-Nimbus style shoe for years and have always loved the cushion and support it provides. The last pair of 19's I bought had to be returned to go up a half size. This pair is little sloppy on my heal. I understand that Asics has addressed the fitting issues with this shoe. I've laced this pair to help with the heel issue.
