Bummed that the product was so thin. I think I can tear it if I tried.

I thought I was getting a casual, lightweight jacket that would still keep me semi warm. I read tons of reviews on this and they were all awesome! That's why I got it. Not sure what everyone else was thinuking when they ordered this, but it was as thin as a trash bag and sounded like one too. This should.be advertised as a WIND BREAKER because that's literally what it is. Maybe good for hiking in the spring, but definitely not meant for anything else.

Mine isn't a rain jacket- it's a wind breaker. Have had it for little under a year and has never protected me from any rain (drizzle or otherwise). It's not breathable (except for the fact that water breathes through it I guess) so if I wear it in the rain I am twice as wet- rain and sweat. This was my first North Face jacket- my parents scrimped to buy it for me- and I am so disappointed in the quality. I will be sticking to my Land's End raincoat.

I needed a lightweight waterproof jacket to throw on for those misty New England days when I take the dog out for a walk. This jacket was quite baggy for an XS, not a flattering cut and the sleeves were very large/wide. I returned it because it just doesn't have a flattering shape and is not as tailored as in the photo.

I ordered this jacket in heather purple, when I received it it was not like the color in the picture. Then I called customer service and they didn't do NOTHING. They said I could send it back but I would have to pay for postage.

The "high rise grey" is pictured as being a darker slate or charcoal color, however it is very light, almost a white grey. Also some of the jacket have a stretch-waterproof light weight feel and some of the colors are stiff made out of thicker materials. When I contacted North face customer service because the jacket I ordered looked nothing like the picture online they would not expedite another jacket so I could have one for my travels.

100% not waterproof. I got very very wet & cold when we went to disneyland last dec. The weather that time is not too cold & cloudy so i choose to wear that jacket, but it rains after few hours & i can feel the wet jacket in my skin. I loved Thenorthface but not i'm not gonna wear that jacket again when its raining.

I buy The North Face products with the faith that will stand the test of time and avid outdoor use. Unfortunately, this one has not lived up to my expectations. I've had this jacket for under two years. I used it halfway through the summer of 2013, all of the summer of 2014, and once this past weekend. This weekend was the last time. I was camping, and around 6 am, it began to rain so we woke up and started to tear the tent down. Halfway through, it began POURING. I can have my tent down within 10 minutes, so it was only pouring for about five of them. I got in the car, and realized that I was entirely soaked beneath my raincoat, and my cell phone, which had been in my pocket, was soaked as well. Fortunately, it didn't get damaged.

Bought it for backpacking. First trip out it a steady light rain, it did not keep me dry. Came back to the description to make sure i had purchased something "waterproof" - and that's what it says. It's cute and fits great but staying dry is #1 priority.

I bought my jacket around 4 years ago. It is NOT waterproof! Which blow my mind seeing as it is advertised as waterproof 'jacket is designed to protect you from rain.' Since it was peeling, I went to trusty REI where I originally purchased it, and since it was before they changed their policy, they said they'd let me get a brand new one. I went to go grab one and was so disappointed to find out that the style had changed. The elastic on the bottom of the jacket is different, its more fitted, and theres no elastic at the wrist? What the heck? The only change I can understand is making them more fitted, not to say that I like the change, I do not, but I understand it. I DONT understand why they would take away the elastic in the wrist? Or change the elastic at the bottom? I'm very disappointed in the changes that were made, that it literally is falling apart after only 4 years of gentle use, and the fact that it is not actually waterproof. I don't see myself purchasing north face products again.

product was not as described. I did not know the jacket was very thin, and not worth $99.00. I still love north face but this jacket was a waste of my time

I bought two as Christmas gifts & when received I could not believe how thin of material the product is. I haven't worn it or tried it in the rain myself, and I am really hoping that they are worth the $99 that I spent on them. I think the two people who are receiving them at Christmas are going to be disappointed with asking for them. The picture makes it look A LOT heavier of a material than it actually is.

This jacket is very light weight. So much so it hardly seemed worth the price. Set it back to you. It was way too thin and looked cheap....

I am from the Pacific Northwest and work outdoors. I really count on my wardrobe to keep me dry. This jacket, sadly didn't cut it for me. It leaks at all the seams and I was soaked in no time. Furthermore, it has no elastic in the sleeves which I found annoying as I'm small and am obliged to deal with velcro every time I put it on or take it off. Intending to return it.

They are a newer slimmer fit, and no longer have sleeves with elastic cuffs so they hang down halfway down my hand and rub as Im walking, Its really annoying. Don't ever change a best seller, there is a reason why people like it.

I've had the jacket for a couple of years. I live in New England so the jacket only gets use about 6 months a year. The lining is shot, flaking everywhere. I am so disappointed because I loved this jacket. $100 is a lot for a rain jacket and North Face has such a great reputation. Maybe Patagonia?
