Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I have been wanting skinny hiking/safari type pants. I wanted to love these and I did as far as the style goes. Columbia took an ugly hiking pant and succeeded in modernizing the look. I am 128#, 5'2", no butt, skinny legs and the size 8 fit perfectly. Problem was with the seams both above and below the knee. These are meant to give more movement in that area, but they do the opposite. They bind and when bending my knee and putting my foot up as if climbing, it feels like I am restricted from movement in that area. My friend tried them on and she is 5'4", 140#, stockier build and they also fit her great, but she had the same issue when bending her knee. These pants would be perfect if they would just eliminate those seams with that extra piece of fabric at the knee. Sadly, had to return them.

I read the reviews before I ordered and saw these ran small I usually wear a 6, but I ordered an 8 and they fit just like my 6's. Great for work and hiking.

I live in Costa Rica and like to go on hiking adventures in the jungle. This product is ideal for the climate down here.

I have different models of Columbia pants and this one is the best I have. I love that these pants are slim fit rather than boot cut or bulky as most outdoor/cargo pants. They are a bit tight but I can still move comfortably. The pockets are slightly small for my taste and the pants run a size small, but they are still a great option if you want to look good and feel comfortable at the same time.

I bought these pants for my wife for a hike through the Grand Canyon, they run very small so I bought her a much bigger size, she's normally a 4 or 6, she had to go one size up, but she loved how they fit her and how they looked

These pants are great! Comfortable, water-wicking and quick dry! As far as functionality, these pants are wonderful. I would prefer a normal button vs the snap button because with a lot of bending and crouching the snap comes undone if you aren't wearing a belt. These pants ran a little small, I ended up having to get one size up.

Great fit. Love the wash & wear fabric too. Buying for trip to Europe and like that the fabric isn't heavy and will be able to wash & dry pants overnite. Love the slim fit too.

I love this style and and have two in each color - it's my favorite pant of any I own. The fit is trim for my athletic body shape. It does stretch for my hiking and trail climbing with excellent abrasion resistance. Perhaps others are used to yoga pants style stretch - these won't stetrech like that but they offer a durability and wind/weather resistance no yoga pant or stretchy jean can match. I use these for 3 seasons outdoor and my daily around town pant.

I'm not a fan of Columbia brand gear but they make the best fitting pants!! I don't feel like I'm sacrificing my feminine style. These pants fit perfectly and the fabric feels durable enough to survive more than a few months of heavy use. Highly recommend these!

The fabric is comfortable and doesn't pill. Sizing is a little difficult for me, the legs and thighs fit fine but there is a gap at the back of the waistband (but nothing a belt won't be able to fix). I have only work these pants for normal day to day activities, but I'm sure they will be fine for hiking

These is definitely not for long, difficult hikes. They are super stylish, they hug my butt and my thighs (a little too much, it's difficult to sit down comfortably), and they are the perfect length. I am 5'6", and around 123 lbs. My waist is 26.25", hips 36.25", and thighs 20". I bought a size 4, and while the waist fits almost perfectly (a tiny bit too big), the thighs are very tight. Keep this in mind if you have athletic thighs! If I was being really picky, I'd return these. I leave for Nicaragua in less than a week, though, so these will have to do.

The waist line is perfect also the leg length too. These pants do feel extra skinny around the knees making it a little difficult to sit down but not too bad. Gonna try these out on a trail.

I bought these pants in an attempt to find a good replacement for my old 2006 GRT pants (I'm an archaeologist). I had bought a pair of Silver Ridge pants a few years ago and like them okay, though the material just feels icky to me. They do okay and they're sturdy. I paid attention to reviews and the size chart and bought size 6 pants (28" waist) and they fit perfectly. They work okay for walking around, though I would prefer a looser fit. These are quite fitted and a little on the short side for me (5'6"). The material is sturdy, which is what I wanted, though still feels "icky" like my older pair. Unfortunately, these become nearly completely un-functional for me because when I kneel, the darts in the knees cause the fabric to pull too tight and it cuts off the circulation. I could not kneel, which I do while digging, for very long without losing all feeling in my lower legs. I'm desperate for new pants so have not returned these yet, but if I can find a better pair I will. They need to bring back the GRT material in a looser, more comfortable fit for those who work in these pants!

The snap closure pops open every time I bend over. It is not a very secure snap. There is no stretch to the material making the waist a little too tight for me. I am 5'2 at 130 lbs. I ordered a size 10. The length is good. The material is very noisy.

The pants are made of a nice material for spring/summer hiking - lightweight, but not stretchy! I bought the same size as my other Columbia hiking pants (made for late fall/beginning winter, and I was surprised to find how tight and uncomfortable these pants were. I will be returning these unfortunately.

Material is rough. There's no play in then at all. They are uncomfortable.

I was disappointed by the material and how these pants fit. I have plenty of Columbia omni shield capris, and they're light weight and not tight fitting. I got my normal size pants in these, size 6, and they don't fit like the other size 6's that I have. The material isn't stretchy and they're actually more on the stiffer side. And they're not soft like the other pants I've bought from Columbia. I am not saying the product is bad, I guess I just should have paid more attention to the description since it does say it is an active body skimming fit.

These pants run small and there is no way they should be called stretch pants. I was looking for a pant that is comfortable and would stretch while hiking, and there is no stretch in them at all.

These were extremely tight in the calves and I have small calves. They were loose on the waist, but way too tight in the calves, so I had to return them. Maybe I should have gotten an S instead of an XS

I am a size 4 by the Columbia size chart. I ordered a 6 in this pant based on other reviews. They are still much tighter than I expected. The material is heavy, and doesn't feel like it would dry quickly.

Love the style of these. However, the size 6 ordered (I generally wear size 4), was very tight. Columbia is one of my favorite brands to buy/wear, but these missed the mark for me. Returning.
