Infuriating that these supposedly easy-fit pants are so tight in the thighs and the fabric has ZERO give or stretch. Couldn't even lift my leg to step up in them. I don't know why Columbia assumes all women into fitness and outdoor activities have skinny legs. this is a good, versatile design that only needs a little more room in the legs or some stretch in the fabric.

WARNING: If you have a small waist and (thick/athletic) thighs these pants are not for you. I'm 5'2 125lb the length was no issue at all, ordered a size small but unfortunately it was way too big on my waist gave me a diaper like appearance yet VERY tight on my thighs. Way too uncomfortable to hike in.

Good weight on the material & like the style. Ordered size Sm according to chart but the waist was too large, exchanging for an XS. For reference I am 5' 6" and 110 lbs.

the color is more gray than sage green, which i like. but about sizing: the legs seem a little narrow. i'm 5'2" and lumpy, so i got size L and wear them at my waist. i shortened them quite a bit, which was fine since i wasn't crazy about the elastic cuffs in a summer-weight knockaround pant. i wore them for travelling, and i was happy with them, esp. since i got them on sale.

I am 5'3", 130 lbs. Usually wear a S so I ordered a S and a M. The S was loose in the waist and way too tight in the thighs! Uncomfortably so, I couldn't imagine hiking in them. The M was a much better fit. There is a drawstring on the inside so you can adjust the waist. I expected the sage color to be a little more green but it is completely grey.

I really loved the look of the pants but the sizing is off. I normally wear a small so I ordered a S and M. The mediums were huge on me. The small fit fine in the waist and length but the thigh was incredibly tight. It would be very uncomfortable to hike in these pants. I do not have huge thighs so I don't know how may people could wear a small unless they have no muscular definition in their legs. It seems odd that a pant designed to been worn outdoors for presumably athletic people would be soo poorly design. Im really sad these didnt work out.

Very happy with these pants! Lots of pockets and nice quick dry fabric! These will be great for camping, hiking and other outdoors activities spring-fall and maybe even warmer winter days with a pair of baselayer leggings underneath! Fit pretty much as expected, but they are a little snug in the thighs at times (not so much that they're uncomfortable though); usually pants like this are a bit baggy on my thighs so I was surprised. Anyway, if you have thick thighs you might want to go up a size!

These are the most comfortable and best fitting hiking pants I've ever owned and they're the first ones I've found that I like as much as just wearing yoga pants when hiking. My only complaint is that I would like a little more room in the calves. The modern fit is great and I really like the brick color. Please make more like these :D

I love these pants. They're super comfy and are a staple for traveling. They don't hold wrinkles very long and are light weight. Very versatile to dress up or down. They also dry super fast.

Bought a size up based on review recommendations but found it ran true to size. Luckily the drawstring waist compensated for it. Tapered legs and cuffs along with upf 50 rating make it perfect for fieldwork in the hot sun. Generous cut also helps keep legs cool and allows freedom of movement. Came back for a second pair but unfortunately, they were sold out.

Great fitting pants for hiking. I was looking for a light breathable pant for hiking and these were the ones.

A bit long if you're used to "short" sized pants but you can pull them up to your natural waste. They're comfortable and lightweight, let's you "breathe" while hiking - doesn't block wind. I felt that if you put anything in the pockets, including phone & keys, the pants started pulling down.

These fit true-to-size and are pretty cute, but...there is zero stretch. For outdoor/active attire, having no stretch is a bummer. It means that when you kneel down or need to stretch out your leg(s), there's no give.

These are great pants! The thigh pocket and one of the back pockets are velcro closure, other back pocket is a zipper closure and the side pockets are just open pockets. The drawstring in the waistband looks looks like the same chord Columbia uses for shoelaces on their hiking boots. I like the material a lot, but it does have a little stiffness to it- you want these to fit a little loose. I typically order a small for pants and thats what I ordered. The pants fit great, but I will say that they are almost to tight on my thighs, which is odd for me. If you have thick thighs, maybe consider sizing up one size?

Great pants; I love the color and they are light yet block a little wind. Mg only complaint is that they are tight in the thigh area. I am curvy, so my thighs are thick and these pants do not offer stretch.

I got these to venture to Vietnam next summer, where the mosquitos can carry dengue fever, so I want to cover up where possible.
They seem durable and the waist is on the large side, so I believe they'll be comfortable. With the gathered ankles, I'm thinking it will be good against the mosquitos. The thighs are not overly generous, so they'll be fine for walking around, but I won't wear them on the plane.

After reading some reviews on these pants I decided to order a size L instead of M, which is usually what I get. I'm 5' 7" and 150 lb. The lower leg of the pant fits great, but the waist is big and I need to tie the drawstring pretty securely to keep them from falling down - if I got the M I don't know if the lower leg would still fit as well...however, that being said they are incredibly comfortable and my go-to pants for almost any outdoor activity. I'm a dog walker and sailor so the cargo pocket works great for keeping baggies and a leatherman while the material breathes really well on a hot day. I would say going up a size in Columbia shirts works better than going up a size in pants :)

I am a true size 2. Other parts fit perfect except the lower leg part is a little tight. it seems like the design is not for people with strong lower legs. After all, the material is really thin, which is really good for summer.i would definitely recommend it to my friends.

I'm 5'2", 110 pounds, and couldn't get the XS to fit over my calves! The top half fit fine. I have muscular calves, but thought the fit was ridiculous for pull-on activewear. They looked really cute and I'm disappointed about the fit. I think size S would have been too large based on the fit working for everything except my calves.

These pants are okay. They are very comfortable, but my butt tends to pop out when I bend over. I like to pack them for sitting around the fire when backpacking. But, if you were going to be super active in them, they probably wouldn't work that well since they tend to fall down too easily.

I ordered the XS. They fit but 2 things are causing me to return them - they are pretty low waisted and I found myself wanting to pull up the waist but I can't. Secondly, the elastic around the ankles is fairly snug. I wanted to wear these to work but I bend and squat a lot and thought I'd be spending to much time pushing the elastic back down as I'm sure they'd creep up as I worked. Cute otherwise. I also agree that the fabric is not as forgiving as I thought it might be. If they are snug I'd actually worry about them ripping with too much bending!

I am 5'3" 130lb. I got S based on the review and their size chart. The waist fits fine with some extra room because of the draw string. But the legs fit really tight. It's especailly tight at the thigh area. The fabric is not stretchy so it made it hard to move about. Like you can't easily bend down or bend over because there's no extra room or stretch out when I do those things. I am still keeping because it is soft and comfy for most part.
