I bought my first Codetta jacket in blue and loved it for 1.5 rainy Vancouver seasons. As others have commented it is very lightweight, sleek, stylish and provides good overall protection. I received so many compliments on this jacket and was really happy with it. Unfortunately, the Goretex on my blue Codetta started to separate, and thus lost its waterproofing along the sleeves and shoulders. I was able to return the jacket and received a brand new black Codetta to replace (blue size sm was not available), and this all happened within 2 weeks. The customer service was great, they were helpful and I received the new jacket more quickly than originally estimated. My only complaint is that the zipper on my new black Codetta is very sticky and the sleeves seem a bit longer than on my original one. I agree with another reviewer's comment that given the expense of Arc'teryx products, I would expect an overall high quality throughout the jacket. Fortunately, it seems that the warranties are good, and especially quick if you are in a city that has a store.

I was looking for something functional yet stylish for my office job. I feel I found that balance with this jacket. I withheld a star due to the scratchy closure. When completed closed, the bottom part of my face/neck was uncomfortable after twisting in the jacket while driving and walking for less than an hour use. I feel this is a design oversight given the price of the jacket. I am fortunate to live in a climate where when it rains I'd want a scarf for extra warmth which mitigates the scratchy closure issue.

pros: elegant styling, keeps me dry cons: the hood isn't suitable for someone with long, thick, or curly hair. I have long hair and the hood doesn't cover my heard if I wear it in a bun. If I want to protect my hairstyle from the elements with this coat, I need to wear my hair down. People with very curly hair are out of luck completely. Also, the zipper is super stiff and tricky to get started--not inclusive for people with arthritis or joint issues.

I have a few products from arcteryx. This coat is one of my most regrettable purchases. I feel very hot in it and combining that with North Shore dog walks in the winter, you don't "feel dry". The cuffs get wet first and then the water goes inside up the cuff and will get my sweater cuffs wet. The hood coverage isn't great and I find that water gets into my neck. I always have to wear a hat with this coat as the hood doesn't have proper coverage. Because of the heavy rains, the jacket feels damp quickly and I can feel the wetness inside my neck. I'm kind of stuck with this coat now as I already am on my second one (the first one let water through a seam and I was given a new one). I don't recommend this as a rain coat for the lower mainland. Pay slightly more and stick with the technical coats. This coat doesn't have any softish inside layer either, so it doesn't feel nice to just wear over a t-shirt, unlike a lot of the other higher end coats. The urban jackets are not great. I don't recommend if you spend a lot of time outside in the rain. I will be contacting arcteryx in hopes of a full refund, this coat is not as good as it is advertised.

I really wanted this coat to work for me. The sleeves are very long, and no way to shorten. This seemed like a well made coat. More crunchy then I was hoping. Had to return because of sleeve length.

I have always enjoyed my Arcteryx clothing, but unfortunately this one was a mistake. The zipper is impossible to zip up without risking breakage. And, in my opinion its on the wrong side. Male version. When completely closed, zipper disturbs neck and chim. For a jacket that wasn't at all cheap, I expected a bit better attention to detail.

I have the same experiences as many other reviewers. The cuff design is faulty. It leaks water inside and gets soaked easily. The hood is in an awkward position and doesn't stay on. I always have to hold to hood with one hand when I wear this it's not practical at all. I get this is the "city" series, but it doesn't even work in the city. Not only do I not want to hold the hood of my jacket constantly when I'm walking in the city, when I was caught in a rainstorm in the city one time, the sleeves of my inside shirt got completely soaked and the entire jacket felt damp. Hood design provided the water a perfect pathway and made sure every drop of rain drip directly on my face! It is not very breathable, and it's especially suffocating under humid conditions. The zipper is not great as mentioned in many other reviews, but it sucks the least compared to everything described above. I did eventually figure out how to zip the crappy zipper on this expensive thing, but I'm not thrilled that they're so difficult to zip up and finicky, especially given how expensive this piece is. There are also these "bubbles" that started forming on the sleeves after I've worn the jacket only a couple of times, because the outside layer has started to separate from the inside layer :( It looks kind of nice though, because it's curved at the waist, but that's about it. I'm very disappointed in this piece, and it's my least favorite arcteryx piece. I'm confused about all the good reviews, and I would not recommend this to anyone.

I was so excited to get this coat, but the zipper is horrible. I have had the zipper stick so bad I have not been able to undo it until I've taken the coat off, climbed out of it, and been able to get it unzipped. I'm shocked for the price that this is what I was sent.

A bit snug in the small(66", 125 lbs). But I underestimated how stiff it was according to other reviewers. The stiff ness contributes to the lack of style when on. No way I could get it to look so chic as in the photos. Especially the hood was unwieldy.

Great fit and colour. Was really looking forward to having it as my forever rain coat. I should've believed the other reviews that mention the zipper being EXTREMELY finnicky. It was a huge struggle to zip up the jacket, and even when I could eventually succeed at zipping up the jacket, the teeth would be misaligned. Tried a few other colours of the same jacket, all with the same problem. It had to be returned, a definite design flaw.
