I bought these to run in to prevent chafing. They work for that purpose and I like them overall. You might try you normal size but also a size up and see which one fits better. They are a little on the tight side but that may be what you are going for.

I would recommend these for guys for leg workouts. They're a little tight to wear all day but give great support during heavy leg exercises.

I bought the long compression shorts mainly for use as a base layer for skiing and snowboarding. Medium fit was correct to the sizing chart on the website and the material and waist band are comfortable. The material is not thick, so compression is light. They worked very well for my application, with the main benefit being full coverage of the thighs.

I've worn these running outside in sub freezing temp and also inside working out. No issues. Comfortable and just the right fit in the waist and length. I own several pieces of Under Armour gear. All of it is fairly good stuff. I expect these to be no different and intend to wear them the rest of the winter, temps permitting and well into spring.

I haven't worn UA compression shorts in about 6 years and I really could slap myself. I forgot what I was missing.
These compression shorts are the best hands down.
Keeps everything secure but comfortable.

I bought these for my partner to wear under his chef clothes on the hot kitchen and for working out in. He says they are very comfortable and do the job very well. We will be purchasing more.

I had been staying away from Under Armours compression shorts because they were not as good as the original ones. The first compression shorts UA made were nylon not like the newer styles. I saw this pair as a new arrival and decided to give it a try. I do weight training and long runs on a regular day. When I tried them on, they felt better than the compression shorts of the last few years. The material is light, kept me dry and provided compression in all the right places. I still wish they went back to the old style as several people have said on reviews but over all I was very happy with this purchase. The compression shorts stayed in place and did not ride up thru long runs or squats. I would give these more than 5 stars if i could. I liked them so much that I bought 3 more pairs and got rid of my other heatgear compression shorts. Buy a pair and you won't regret it.

The stitching in these underwear were very itchy as soon as I put them on, and the area around the crotch is very transparent but other than that, very good performance, ran some drills and I loved it.

Ordered these through a UA store, and received in a timely manner. Chose the gray because it seems a little rougher and grippier, which is perfect for my intended use as a base layer for motocross (slicker material tends to allow my body to move around too much inside my MX pants, making it harder to properly feel the bike below me when sitting). Brought them to the track and wore once to ride in, and immediately noticed that they were significantly shorter (by about 2 inches) than my previous long compressions shorts (which began developing small holes in the rear after several years of use). The grip was good inside my MX pants, but they only came to about mid thigh, which bothered me throughout the day; I noticed the hem squeezing my leg, and the skin to pant contact was annoying since I'm used to longer compression shorts. Otherwise, they fit fairly well, appear well built, and seemed true to size; I can't speak to groin support, as I always wear a UA jock strap to hold everything in place (thank goodness I bought several while they were in production; please bring them back!). I'm not sure if I accidentally got the normal length short and it was mislabeled, or if the long short just really isn't very long anymore. Either way, I was unhappy with the length, and will be returning the product. Thankfully, the return process is simple. In the future, I will only be purchasing from a local retailer so I can see, feel and try on the item to make sure it's the right fit, and, in the mean time, I guess I'll just sew up the little holes in my old long compression shorts, and hope they last a while longer.

"Stretch-mesh gusset & inseam panels deliver strategic ventilation"
By strategic ventilation they mean "tiny holes that break down after a few months"
I've bought UA compression shorts for quiet some time but this year they changed the design and added "ventilation". Even the first time putting them on I wasn't impressed, figuring that they would fall apart more quickly than my previous pair. And they did just that.
I bought three pairs a few months ago and they all are starting to deteriorate, which has been uncomfortable to say the least.
This item is too over priced to be falling apart after a few months.
