I bought my first black pair of these four years ago, and immediately bought the fold-over stretch waisted ones as well, and a pair of the fold-over in linen color, but I DO prefer this style with the zipper and the string tie. They immediately became my go-to pair of pants. Easy to wear, comfortable in the summer, fun, super-flattering, and they look really cute with stacked wedge espadrilles AND with ballet flats. (Skinny pants are NOT your friends, not unless you’re 5’10” and weigh 105 lbs.) My husband calls them “my uniform.” I am so happy to find them still available! They DO run a size large, so plan accordingly. I’d say the “stretch” factor is negligible. I’ve dressed them up for parties by ironing them and pairing them with a cream silk blouse tied at the waist, and opera pearls, and dressed them down with an ironed boatneck white tee and a chunky turquoise necklace, (you DO iron your tees, right, girls? Dress like the French. Hair in a messy bun, red lipstick, only a touch of mascara.) But, mostly, they’re just really comfortable go-with-everything “throw on Sunday morning for a coffee and Whole Foods run”— everyday casual wear. DO wash them inside-out, and hang to dry— it’s not required, but it will help keep the black from fading, and I promise you’re going to love them a good long time. Had a not just caught my backside on a nail on my potting bench, I’d never have thought to come replace them! Lucky me!

These pants are fabulous. They'll take 10 lbs off your thighs and 10 years off your age. I just bought my second pair!

Before even trying these pants on I noticed that both back pockets have holes in them. For $100 that is not okay. It's just poor stitching/terrible quality control. Otherwise I do love these pants. I tried them on and they rate true to size, super comfortable and I love the style. Just terrible to have holes in pockets BEFORE EVEN TRYING THEM ON!

These pants are adorable and, just like the other reviewers, I get lots of compliments. However, I had to order four pair to get one that fit properly. The fit in the same size pants varies considerably. Once you get a pair in the right size, all is well. I am 5'7" and 125 lbs. My hips are 38" but one of the XS I ordered fit me perfectly, the other XS in black was huge. Bigger than one of the size S I ordered! Go figure.

I'm 5'11'', 145 lbs so it was great to be able to get these long enough. I love the fabric, the color, the way it is made and how it fits. My only reservation is that I haven't worn wide pants like this in many years, so I'll have to see how it feels after wearing it a few times. I did order another pair because I really loved how they looked and felt on. I ordered a medium which was just right for me.

Completely different color than what is represented on the website. "Cloud," on the website, looks like it may be a chocolate brown color. The pants that came are very much gray in color.

These are my most favorite pants in the world. Somehow, I bought a pair at a discount clothing store in 2015 for $11. Wore them, and mended them, until they fell apart, about 8 years all together. Reluctant to pay full price, I kept repairing the old ones. Finally figured I'd get a new pair.... The stretch poplin fabric is great, all year round. The cut and style are very flattering. I'm tall, 5'9", the 33" inseam is perfect. The proportions might not be as flattering if you need to hem more than two or three inches???? I'm currently 170lbs, 32.5" waist, 40"hips and the medium is perfect. I gained a few pounds a nice 2015 and the drawstring waist is very adjustable. I was probly a 29/30 waist when I bought them originally. Be careful not to pull strings too hard. Mine broke after a long time, and I just knotted them back together. Also, be gentle while pulling snap at waist, the grommet will eventually rip through the fabric. My old pair is still hanging on, but I got to be very gentle. The gathering under the pocket is a perfect place for gathering. A flattering silhouette, in my opinion. I'll probly make another attempt to mend my old pair, and am very glad I dropped the $80 for a new pair.

LOVE the fit, comfort, and style of these pants! Very lightweight, flattering fit, and a nice deep gray color. I would give 5 stars for overall, but I am DISAPPOINTED with the construction quality. There were thread ends sticking out of many of the seams and especially at a pocket corner, where a slight tear has opened up. In a few places, the seams have skipped stitches. I kept them as I wanted them for an upcoming vacation. For the price, I would expect better quality.

The fit is true to size, but they are very long which is what I love about them because I have exceptionally long legs and it is hard to find comfortable and very attractive pants that I can wear with heels. These can be dressed up or down and I have 6 pairs of them in different colors. They have a little stretch so I can wear a size smaller than I usually take, but my size fits exactly right. They are so comfortable and I always get compliments when I wear them.

Incredibly comfortable pants. Material is lightweight and cool. Adorable wide leg style that goes with just about any top. This is my 2nd pair of poplin pants from XCVI and I will definitely buy more!

Love these pants! but my usual size is Large, and they were a bit to big. They are very slimming and cool to wear. I will order Mediums.

Really cute style! Slimming leg design. Light and airy for those hot humid months. The only thing to be aware before you buy is these are really looooong! Huge hem needed to make them wearable. But once the hem is done adorbs!

The fit was a little on the big side. I ended up getting an XS even though I normally buy S. These are really cute and comfy, but the legs are SO LONG. I am average height, but will need to have them hemmed a lot just to keep from tripping on them.

Adorable, definitely run large so reading the reviews i ordered a small 5'6" 122 pounds fit perfect because i love a bit roomy. They are so cute and very flattering i may order another pair in a different color ordered black may see if they come in pink. highly recommend

I love these pants. I happened to have a pair years ago and wore them to shreds over the years. But then could not find them to purchase anywhere for a long time, so when one day saw them on Zappos, I didn't even care what the cost was. They are stylish, comfy, casually elegant and different. I am 5"9', 165 lbs and medium fits great. Note! - they do get looser as you wear them, so don't worry about that initial tightness. Material is perfect for spring or fall. Highly recommended ?

I absolutely love these pants! The color is not as pictured. They are more green than tan. I do like the color. Love them so much that I purchased another pair in navy. Comfortable; light weight and fashionable. The perfect alternative to denim jeans.

Runs a little big, but very comfortable. Fabric is soft. I ordered the wren color, expected a tan but is more like army green. I still love the pants and ordered a second pair.

Nice pants, but way too long unless you wear platforms.. They need to offer these in shorter length options. I am 5'7" and have long legs. Go figure.

Nice pant. However, I ordered the 31.5" length and the 33" length was sent. This happened twice! When I reached out to customer service via phone, I was assured that this would be checked into, and I would be contacted but alas, a week has elapsed and I never heard back. So, I ordered these pants directly from the xcvi site.

I'm not exaggerating when I say when I walk into a room, people of all genders want to steal my pants. The only thing I'm not loving about this version of the wide leg style is that they are a leeetle long, even on the short inseam, and there is no button closure at the top, where previous iterations had one. Other than that, no complaints.

I wanted to love these pants. I was visiting my cousin and she had them in white and navy and I LOVED them so much I went on an internet hunt for them. I was so happy to find them at Zappos because I love doing business with this company. Unfortunately they are too short for me. I am 5'10-5'11 and they were above my ankles. Also, as another reviewer said, the "Cloud" color which appears brown on the website is actually a light grey...not grey-ish, totally grey! Zappos apparently is using the wrong color image for these. Otherwise great pants, my cousin loves them and looks awesome on her.

extremely cute...however I am 5'6 and am choosing not to wear these for anything that requires walking I would discourage you from wearing them with heels. the wide pant gets caught on your shoe while walking i had to hold them up - just be aware.

Cute pants but the stitching "Pops" when you make a move, as if it is old, and has Zero Stretch... But is suppose to have stretch. Strange feeling to bend over and hear cracks & pops. Purchased larger to make sure they would fit. Very very long (5ft1) & no way to temporarily fold up. Will need hemmed. Tall gals will rejoice. Thin material will be Gr8 for FL weather. Hope they hold up.

These pants are very cute. However, the seams started to come apart after the first wash. I don’t know what kind of thread was used, but it’s no good. I can and will repair them, but I expect better quality from XCVI. Very disappointed.
