The technology of ICE + did nothing and in fact made me slip/fall more than any other boot worn before. I am a landscaper with snow removal accounts in off season. My wife fell for the marketing claim, sadly, these boots and the outsole technology did not live up to their claims, I'll be returning these today.

I'm a women's size 11 but ordered these as men's size 9s because there's nothing comparable for women in that size. I'm writing this mostly for men who'd consider ordering -- these are the first men's shoes I've put on that felt narrow which means they'll likely feel narrow to men. For me, usually men's shoes offer a comfortable but never tight fit for width-wise. I'm wearing them with normal weight athletic socks right now and think they'd feel even tighter with a winter sock. They have Thinsulate and feel warm so thick socks isn't the issue; it's the surprisingly narrow fit in width --and actually in the instep too -- that has me wondering if I'll send them back before after a few hours of seeing if they loosen up while I wear them around the house. I can't speak to the ice traction they promise but did order them because this sole (on a slightly different Caterpillar -- MEN’S STICTION HIKER ICE+ WATERPROOF TX BOOT-- shoe) was rated #2 on melting and bare ice at Rate My Treads, a site that test a boot's grip at various angles of incline. http://www.ratemytreads.com/ratings/casual-boots/caterpillar-mens-stiction-hiker-ice/
