I love Haflinger. I wear them as slippers not shoes. They give great arch support and are warm and cozy. I've owned many pairs of the soft, boiled wool variety. This was my first foray into cork sole Haflingers as I want to be able to step outside in them occasionally. I bought the charcoal versions and really like their appearance. The charcoal is very dark grey/almost black, with a light grey felt wool trim and a canvas red strip at the back for a little pop of color and a contemporary touch. I expect the canvas strip also reinforces the back of the mule. They are slightly stiffer than the boiled wool types but still extremely comfortable. I know sizing has baffled many. My regular shoe size is 3.5/4 UK, 36.5 to 37 Euro and a solid 6.5 U.S. I have an average width foot with fairly high arches. Over the years I've bought both 36 and 37 dependent on the Haflinger shoe. Thank heavens for Zappos and their great shipping and returns policy. I recommend buying your regular size and a size down and just seeing which are most comfortable. Use the Euro sizing raster than the U.S. For newbies to Haflinger, be aware that the felt/wool will stretch so a little tightness to begin with is no bad thing! My last pair was a 37, this time and for this style I bought the 36. I placed my arch where it felt most comfortable on the support, made sure my heel was securely in the heel dip and wiggled my toes to make sure they weren't being squeezed. I know most clogs recommend a 1/4 gap at the back. However, when I did the above there was very little gap at the back. Obviously the cork base won't stretch so you need to ensure your foot doesn't hang over but I'm anticipating the softening that will occur all around the slipper. These just felt the most supportive. The 37 had the 1/4 inch gap but just felt too roomy in the front half of the shoe. I knew with a bit of wear, these would most likely be flopping around on my feet. I'm very happy with my new purchase. I encourage any newbies to take the plunge, they are worth it. Thanks again Zappos for such great service.

I have had several pairs of Haflinger clogs and slippers over many years, and they have NEVER failed to endlessly please me. I have a very wide foot, complete with bunions, and a narrow heel. I think that, because they fit my foot absolutely perfectly, from the very first moment that I put on a new pair, I would say that the width runs quite wide (great for me), and perhaps the length runs a little bit long, also perfect for me. I wear a Haflinger 40, and these extra bits in the length and width create an ideal fit for me. A 41 is just a little too big. The wool of the shoe makes your feet stay at just the right temperature all of the time, not too hot, and never cold. And the normal perspiration of your foot doesn't make you end up with hot, sweaty feet that turn into icy cold feet, as is the case with shoes or slippers that are synthetic. Even when my feet are bare in my Haflingers, the wool doesn't itch. It wears like iron, is easy to keep clean, and the soles are extremely durable and have great winter traction. I have a very reputable shoe repairman who will identically replace the soles after years of use, and I can keep a pair forever with this type of maintenance. An absolute marvelous shoe!

I ordered these shoes six months ago as my “house shoes”. As soon. As I come in the house - they go on my feet and I have loved them! BUT...a week or so ago, I tripped, and had no idea why. I looked and sure enough, the sole had de-laminated. For the price I paid, I was very disappointed. I had my husband use contact cement and a vice for 24 hours - it worked for awhile, no dice! I’m so sad. I guess after six months, they’re not going to let me return them. But Buyer Beware!

I would have preferred a prettier wool color or pattern. I normally wear a 9.5 in closed shoes or a 10 insneakers but the 9 was perfect. The toe box is wide and the low back works with my narrow heel. I am wearing these as slippers in the house but the sole looks sturdy enough for some outside wear if needed.

I plan to wear these as a slipper/house shoe; We have hard floors and I appreciate arch support and some cushioning. These are also substantial enough to take out the dog, etc. It took a few tries to get the right size. I wear a 7.5 women's shoe. I started with a 38 (which was said to be equivalent to a Women's 7), and it was quite large. The 37 (US Women's 6) was also large. The 36 (which Zappos equates with a Women's 5) fits well.

These are very nice slippers/ shoes. My wife and I both have a pair that we wear around the house. We purchased them Nov 2017. Slight problem with the rubber sole separatin from the cork platforem. the trim at the back is now pulling away . I would say you should plan on about one year for the slippers to last. Might purchase again, but only on sale as they don't last long enough.

Lately my feet have been awful, and I can't find anything that feels good. I have sesamoiditis, hallux limitus and a bone spur. These are the only things that don't kill my feet! I wish I could wear them everywhere.

Nice cozy comfy clogs. However, I ordered a size down because the other reviews said they run large. I am always a 39 in Euro sizing and an 8 to 8 1/2. I got the 38 and they fit with thin socks, but my toes are right to the end. I think the 39 would have been fine and I could wear a little bit heavier sock. They are wide enough (but not really too wide) to allow room for a heavier sock. Anyway, I love them!

This is my second pair of Haflinger clog slippers. The first are still wearable (bought new 1/2018 and wear every day almost all day bc I work from home) but the upper has come unsewn at the back and is beginning to separate from the sole. I LOVE these slippers. I use orthotics in my regular shoes bc I have sesamoiditis in one foot and need the arch support in both, but these slippers are super comfortable without needing my orthotics. I wear them every day from the moment I wake up until I go to bed, except when I leave the house. But honestly, since I work from home, I’m home most of the day every day. I highly recommend these for comfort and support. I’ve always been a big Birkenstock fan, but I think I might like Haflingers better. The break in time is basically zero and they don’t have that little ridge under the toes like Birks do. I also feel like the heel cup is more comfortable than Birkenstocks. I also have plantar fasciitis, and I can wear these all day and never have problems. With my Birks, my heels start to hurt at the end of the day.

I'm a 9 1/2 and I prefer my shoes wide so I can wiggle my toes. The 40 fits perfectly. The collar makes this Haflinger fit a bit snugger around the instep. It looks like a good outdoor shoe and less like a slipper.

I read the reviews and was hesitant to order a full size down. I am a true ladies 9 - in a pump I will even go up to a 9.5. I have wide feet, high arches and what I consider to be high insteps. Well. . . . .I bit the bullet and ordered a 38. The reviews were right - it fits like a dream. I certainly couldn't wear a thick wool sock but a light sock will be perfect. As a matter of fact they are so comfortable I may not wear socks at all!!! The fit across the top of my foot is comfortably snug - not too snug as to make me feel like I am walking out of them and need to jam my foot back into them due to my high insteps. The arch is subtle yet supportive. The toe box is very roomy without feeling sloppy (my toes are happily wiggling in them as we speak). While I haven't had a chance to break them in yet something makes me think I will be adding more of these gems to my wardrobe in the future.

I LOVE these slippers. I wear them daily. Very comfortable right out of the box! My complaint- the sole starts to come unglued from the rest of the body within months!

I choose these slippers because of the felt material which is known for moisture absorbency and warmth. The slippers looked nice, but they didn't have any cushions on the insole, so I felt like I was wearing wooden shoes. The outsole was very stiff, every time I walk I felt the material of the top of the shoes digging into the top of my foot. Very disappointed. For such a price ($128) I would expect some cushioning and a somewhat flexible outsole.

I am replacing another pair of Haflingers that I have had for years and have worn to the nub. I was so happy to get this new pair. They are my go-to slippers for indoors because of their arch support and non slip bottom. I highly recommend them.

This is my second pair of Haflingers. My first lasted me 5 years. Yes, these shoes sort of make me look like I have Smurf feet, but I will not be parted from them. They are SOOOO comfortable. The epitome of Hygge. I am a happy house frau.

I live in these as my inside shoes/slippers. Love the good grip on the bottoms, the arch support, the cute style (red dash on the back), and the natural boiled wool.

I love this shoe!!!!! It’s comfy for cold Maine nights, it’s cute, and it fits my wide foot so well!!!! I have been waiting to make this purchase and now wish I hadn’t waited so long!!!! This shoe makes walking around all day so much easier on my feet and legs. We have hard wood floors and I recently injured my leg and the support and cushion is just wonderful!

I love these mules and I use them as my slippers. We have a ceramic tile floor in the house which in the winter is cold. Not an issue for me.
