Tough, warm, and stylish! I wore this jacket in the toughest conditions imaginable (for ME): bushwhacking through saplings and thorny shrubs up and down steep mountains in 20 degree weather. Normally I wouldn't wear such a good jacket under those conditions but I really needed something warm yet breathable and tough. I felt that this jacket really excelled. Kept me warm while not moving at basecamp (with a thin base layer and thin fleece undernearth) but never over-heating when charging uphill with a heavy pack (thin base under) . I was truly worried about snags or tears but by the end of the two day trip there wasn't a mark. The style is really flattering and I get tons of complements when I wear it to work or out with friends. I Love this jacket so much I probably won't temp fate a second time by bushwhacking in it again. But on the other hand it performed so well, it'd be difficult to choose any other. I'm 5'6" 135 lbs 32D hourglass shape and the small fit best.

I love this jacket. I was looking for something warmer than my thinner Patagonia insulated liner from my ski coat. This is much warmer and it is more fitted. I also think the outer fabric is more durable (will get less snags) than a Patagonia down sweater jacket. I really like the hood, and the stitching on it helps keep it structured. I was on the edge of sizes. I weigh 128ish and am 5'6". I wear a small in tops usually and a size 4 or 6 in jeans. I wanted to be able to fit a sweatshirt or sweater under my jacket. I bought the size small and medium and kept the size small. The medium still fit but I liked the more fitted look and can still layer underneath. I recommend this jacket!

The Kuhl Spyfire Hoodie, like every other Kuhl product I have purchased, reflects superior quality: it is durable, attractive and designed with extra details which make it a wonderful choice. It is designed with slimming front and back seams; its hood is not only adjustable but it has a peak which enhances visibility while diverting rain. It is light and flexible but exceptionally warm and soft. Overall, a truly terrific jacket.

Kuhl always impresses me with the details. The Spyfire Hoody does not disappoint. I live in central WA state in high desert. The weather varies from dry with temperatures in the 20s to mid 30s with snow or sleet, so I need to be prepared for anything. Other premium fill down jackets I’ve owned provide lightweight warmth, but are lacking in terms of water repellancy. This jacket offers exactly what I need as the body fabric is both windproof and water repellant. The slightly longer fit in the torso keeps my lower back warm and doesn’t ride up when I sit down. The flattering fit in the body, which I’ve found to be a bit snug in the Marmot jackets I’ve owned, allows room for movement, comfort and an extra under layer if needed. I’m 5’4” and weigh about 140 lb. I own the medium in the Spyfire Hoody and the sleeves are a bit too long for me. Because the sleeves are loosely fitted at the wrist, the extra length does not bother me. I also love the extra splashes of color provided by the ribbon sewn into the zippers. The only thing I miss from the Marmot jackets I’ve owned is the fleece-lined pockets, but the other benefits of the Kuhl jacket far outweigh this small detail. I can’t wait to wear it on my next snowshoeing trip!

I had never heard of Kuhl brand of coat. I had no idea what to expect. I regularly wear Patagonia and The North Face coats. I will say I love this Kuhl coat! It's very comfortable and warm! True to size. I love the elastic at the wrist. I can move all over and keep very warm and comfortable. I got one in the burgundy color. Nice color. A friend saw me wearing it today and couldn't believe it because he had been looking at Kuhl coats online to get one for Christmas. According to him, this coat is really popular and trendy. That may be so which is great, but I'm loving it and giving it a big thumbs up!! It's a winner!! I think Zappos should add it to their product selection for sure!

I love this jacket by Kuhl! It's very warm, very comfortable & not big & puffy so you can easily put your seatbelt on. The hood has plenty of room so you could wear a hat if you wanted or pul it snug around your face. I found the fit to be true to size. I have purchased clothes made by Kuhl before, this brand is high quality!

I really wanted to love this jacket, unfortunately, the fit was a little off. I am 5'2" and about 120 lbs with an athletic build. I ordered a small, and it was perfect in the shoulders and hips, but a little tight in the bust. (I am not particularly busty.) It kind of made me look like a man because it flattened my chest. If it weren't for the fit issue, I think I would have loved it. The quality was otherwise great.

I bought this jacket for a Christmas present for my wife, because the jacket she had is hideous and I did not like it!! so... she got this jacket. Well long story short, she is a very cold person and I was looking for a more stylish jacket that was as warm as the one she had. This jacket fit perfectly and looked amazing, the only problem was when tested it in a 30 degree weather. Did not kept her as warm as the other jacket she had. not even with an under layer. But if you are for looks style and you are not as cold as my wife, then I would recommend this jacket for you.

To be completely open about this, I received the Kuhl Spyfire Hoodie in return for a straightforward honest review. In the past I've bought a number of Kuhl products --particularly pants -- and I really like the fit and quality of Kuhl clothing. As to this hoodie: on the plus side, the jacket is quite warm, being filled with premium goose down ("certified to be ethically sourced"), although I wouldn't wear it in seriously cold weather because it doesn't come near my butt. I love that the sleeves do not have Velcro but rather a ribboned elastic. The zippered side pockets are a good size -- you can actually get your hands fully into them. The zippered inside pocket is large enough to hold my 6+ cellphone. That's a big plus for me. The hood is also well done and even protects a big head like mine.The down side for me is first, the cranberry color, which is that dull 1970s mauve/berry color that was so popular back then. It is very flat and unappealing. Second, the style of this hoodie is as retro as the color. It certainly does not have a wow factor with that awful color, the ribbon seams, epaulets and bright orange lining. On the other hand, it would be a perfect jacket to wear on a hiking or camping trip. It's lightweight, rainproof, and not the kind of jacket you'd worry about getting grungy. I've been wearing it on my morning walks to the dog park and it's perfect for cold and wet Seattle weather. Plus, I'm not particularly worried about getting paw prints and drool all over it. So it is functional.

Great style and fit. I got the x-small and I'm 5'5"/126Ibs. However, the down feathers started shedding on day two. Also this item arrived with no label, leading me to believe it had been worn before, perhaps for some time. I ended up re-ordering the jacket from the Kuhl website instead. Got it in black with hood and in ivory with no hood. Hope they don't shed as they are very cute and the perfect warmth for walking around in San Francisco!
