I used this for my daily work/commuting bag for just under a year, then one side of the bag, where the shoulder strap attaches, ripped out of the bag/the leather fell apart. Then after a month of using the top handle. it fell out. Disappointing as it was expensive and is a nice looking bag. Even though it was an obvious design flaw/manufacture defect, was told by company they wouldn't fix/replace.

I'm a business professional and I use the bag daily to carry papers/folders, a 13" MacBook, a small umbrella and occasionally a book. By no means am I carrying heavy textbooks in this bag so I'm a tad disappointed that the handle is coming undone after 1 year of use. I still use it daily but I try not to carry by the handle and use more of the shoulder strap. I just think for the price paid, perhaps a well placed metal rivet at the handle/bag interface would have prevented this unraveling. The design of the handle leaves much to be desired.
The leather and cognac color is wonderful. The size and weight is ideal.

I have used this bag for over 30 years, it's a great computer bag even though I purchased it long before we all started carrying computers! It's worn to a beautiful patina and tolerated world travel without complaint. I even landed a client once because of this bag. He.said " anyone with a briefcase that worn out must be good at this"!

I use this all the time and get so many compliments on it. Much better looking than a traditional computer bag and has held up well to my 2+ years of travel with it

Bought this as a father's day gift and my husband was blown away! It's exactly what he wanted and looks better than the pictures! He raves about it!

I bought this bag for work and when I received it there was a tear on the inner lining. I was thrilled with the customer service - by far the best I have experienced in the past few years. The person I spoke to on the phone was polite, helpful, efficient, and apologetic about the mistake. The return process was simple and my new bag arrived quickly.

I've had this bag for about 5 years, stopped using it after about 2 years, as the handle started to break. Other than that, it is a lovely bag suited to daily commute/travel. I've kept the bag still, and will likely get the handle repaired at some point.

Love the bag. Get a lot of compliments on it. The leather is aging really nicely. However, today after about 2 years of use, the shoulder strap detached from the side. The stitching fell apart and the grommet pulled through. Hoping they can quickly repair vs replace.

I bought this bag and loved it for just over a year and then I started having all sorts of problems. First the top part of the bag broke and it looked ridiculous holding it. Then the clasp broke so I couldn't close it. Finally the hardware holding the over the shoulder strap broke also and I dropped it with my computer inside. Frye's warranty only covered the first year. So so disappointed and never buying anything from here again.

Expected quality given the cost. But within a few months there were loose threads. Not for everyday use. My original review was deleted from the site, it was one star. Apparently, that is not allowed.

Hard to imagine complaining that the leather is too soft, but as a result the bag has no structure. I chose this bag over the Oliver Messenger hoping it would give a slightly more professional look. Unfortunately the bag "slouches" when carried by the strap and looks like a cheaper bag...which is certainly wasn't.

I bought a similar Frye back 2 years back. Spent over $500 on it. Was initially generally happy with the bag; however it has started to fray a little at the seams and wrapped ends of the leather cracking a bit at the handles.....that stuff I can live with, however the should strap is now coming apart at the seam, and sadly Frye doesn't seem to care much. Use on the bag hasn't been extreme. In the end at this point I'll be buying bags (and perhaps shoes) elsewhere if this is what I can expect from this premium price, low end component quality bag.
