After my dog "customized" my ankle boots by chewing 2" completely off the front of one of them I was in the market for replacements. I stumbled upon Pikolinos on the Zappos website. I had seen them before but didn't know anything about them. I can't wear tall heels anymore because they make my feet hurt, so heel height, was an issue. The Pikolinos had several options with smaller heels, and I really liked their styling. I researched them and found that they're a quality brand. I mulled over buying them for a couple of months because truthfully, the price was quite a bit more than I paid for my last boots. When I finally bought and received them, I found out why. I know, you get what you pay for and this is true with Pikolinos. They're waaayyy nicer than my last boots. They have some padding which will keep my feet warm in the winter (I live in the mountains), they're roomier than my old boots and they just better quality. I traced my foot and measured it, which put me at a 39, which is my size. They were roomier than I thought they'd be, but it wasn't a problem, and actually when I tested it out with thicker socks, it was a good thing. I wore them around when I first got them thinking I'd had have to break them in, but that wasn't an issue. I wore them around for an entire day and they were great. The only problem now is all the other styles that are catching my eye!

I have purchased many shoes / boots from Zappos (I do love the service - it's excellent) and this is the first time I've felt so strongly about a product that I felt compelled to add a review. Seriously, these booties are amazing. Unique detailing and high quality leather that felt comfortable right out of the box! I have a bunion on one foot, so it's often hard for me to find a shoe that fits both my feet well. Also, the color of the garnet is really lovely - a rich dark burgundy red that will go well with almost anything. I've never owned Pikolinos before, and I have a feeling I'll be investing in more. In my opinion these are better than my Fryes. I'm a 7.5 or 8 (in boots), and the 38 was perfect.

I debated buying my 1st pair, Arcilla color, due to the price, but decided to go for it. I'm so pleased with this boot. It is the most comfortable shoe! I continue to receive compliments on this boot. I typically wear an 8-8.5. I ordered a 39 and although they felt a bit big, I kept that size. I really wanted to purchase another pair in black and finally talked myself into it. I ordered a size down - 38 - and they were a tad small, so exchanged them for a 39. This size 39 boot does not feel as loose as the 1st pair sz 39 that I own. I have had more people ask about these boots than any other pair of shoes I have ever owned. If I had the money, I would buy the other 2 colors! They are stylish, well built, and comfortable beyond belief. I have worn them for up to 12 hours straight without any foot discomfort.

Love, love, love these! They are very cute and extremely comfortable! I am not a skinny girl and we walked all day without any discomfort or break in period.

I’ve had plantar fascia surgery and have bunions so I have to be careful when buying shoes but I can teach in these all day and don’t have to run take them off the minute I get home. They’re wonderful, so beautiful, and truly unique. I get compliments on them all the time.

Pikilinos are the absolute best shoes, both in style and quality. I always get compliments on them and they age beautifully. My favorite ankle boots are my Rotterdam Pikolinos. I fit into them perfectly at a size 38. I ordered these Le Mans in a 38 and they are both wider and longer then my Rotterdams. I even held them up against one another and the Le Mans are much longer in the foot bed. Sorry to say I am sending these back and I will try to order a pair in a 37 to see how they fit, but I am a bit concerned the width will still be an issue. I have plantar fasciitis, so I can't wear loose fitting shoes, as it irritates my heal to be loose in a shoe.

I've wanted a pair of Pikolinos for a while now, and I loved these at first sight. I ordered them in Jade and they are absolutely beautiful. After wearing them around for a bit though, I just don't think they're right for me. Like some have said, the heel slips a little. I know I'm in the right size because the length is perfect and the toe is nice and snug across my foot but they are just too loose around the ankle. Not enough to hurt but definitely enough to be annoying and make my socks bunch up at my heel. Also, the footbed is insanely soft and cushy but doesn't provide much support. After only an hour or so of wearing them I could feel my feet starting to ache. I'm not giving up on Pikolinos and have already added a couple other styles to my cart, but sadly I think these will have to go back.

I give this boot high marks because of great comfort and snazzy style. I ordered these and two other tan boots to try on and these won hands down! Thank you Zappos! Cute with a skirt, skinny jeans, or any casual outfit, they have a western, chunky style that will work summer or winter. My size of 40 is consistent with my Dansko sizing, or a 9 1/2 or 10 depending on the brand.

I love Pikolinos. I usually order a size 38 and they fit perfectly. These did not fit me at all. They felt narrow in the toe box and loose in the hill. My toes felt constricted as I was walking in them and my heal kept coming up. I’ve never had a problem like this with any other pair of Pikolinos. I ordered a different style and those fit fine. Not sure what happened here. I ended up returning them. Also, I got Jade and did not like the color at all. I’ll stick with the traditional browns, reds, grays and black.

First: bless you Zappos for your outstanding shipping policy and customer service! Originally the wrong version of these shoes were sent. A stunningly pleasant customer service specialist facilitated the exchange and even shipped to a different address, as I was traveling. Now for this bootie: love! I balked at the price some but I’m 46 and my feet no longer tolerate mediocre shoes. I need looks and supportive performance. These deliver. I consistently wear a 10.5 or 41 in Birks but needed a 42 here for wear with an average sock for cold weather. This was the right combo of quiet practical tread, universal color (Lead), feminine details (stitching, laces, stacked heel), all in a comfortable package. The super soft pliable leather upper easily accommodated my feet, which are on the wide side of average. I’d call the arch moderate - I have a high arch and instep, and could detect the arch without it totally filling that space (like, say, a Chaco sandal does). I tried about 4 pair of other booties and this was the winner. Definitely worth a shot if you want an do-it-all comfy stylish workhorse.

These are awesome. I just had surgery on my foot and was such wearing sneakers all the time. Then I found these. So comfortable and supportive. I'd highly recommend these!

I was hesitant to order the Lead color, but I'm so glad I did. It is a dark gray, but has a tiny bit of warmth, which I think will look good whether wearing black or brown. Hard to describe, but it's a great color. I wear a 7 1/2 shoe and ordered the 38, which fit perfectly. It has a rounded toe which gives extra toe room, and the heel is not too high. Besides being really comfortable, the style is really sharp. This is my second pair of Pikolinos ankle boots, and I hope to get as many compliments on these as I do on my other pair!

I love these boots. They are comfy and stylish and the Lead is a perfect, go with everything color. They are my "casual" go to boots now. I am typically a 7 in boots and bought a 37. I don't wear particularly thick socks with these, so that might be something to consider.

Plainly a quality casual boot that's as cute as it can be. I did take them in to have them stretched across my instep and toes. I reach for these boots first for daily casual.

I'm a pretty solid size 8, but these in the 38 were very tight. I exchanged for the 39 and ended up keeping them, but now wish I'd returned them. They're just too loose and feel sloppy on my feet. I like the style and the quality is good, but their sizing is in between for me.

I wear a 7.5 to 8 and the size 38 fit perfectly. Super cute boots, and the appeared to be high quality. Sadly I returned them because the shaft was rubbing against my ankle, and I was worried that this might be a long term problem.

Beautiful boots. These are my first pair of Pikolinos. I was looking for a great boot that would lend me a couple of inches of height and was comfortable as well as cute. The Lead color is perfect and looks fabulous with blue denim or black jeans. My feet are a little wide and I do have bunions. I wear a size 7 in shoes and size 37 was a perfect fit. The heel is a little roomy but with socks it fits just perfect. LOVE these booties and highly recommend them. P.S. Bought another pair of Pikolinos booties but different style. Love Pikolinos boots. These boots fit perfectly. I am a 91/2 and I ordered a 40. There is room enough to wear a sock comfortably. The boots are lined and warm, and so chic! Pikolinos has terrific designers. I chose the color Lead but would like to order them in the other shades as well. Great boot, comfort is A plus!

Such a beautiful boot, buttery soft leather, gorgeous color, and roomy enough for an orthotic insert and/or thicker sock.

I wear a 41 in Birks and was recently measured at a New Balance store as a 10.5 and just barely into the “wide” category. The 41 felt like a glove but on the snug side at first try, though the soft leather may have stretched to accommodate. I didn’t want to risk them feeling too small with warm socks. The 42 was slightly roomy but perfect with winter socks. I recommend sizing up especially if you’re a half size. The tread is quiet and grippy. The color (lead) is a genius dark neutral. The stitching detail is flattering to my larger tootsies. The heel is enough to be fashionable but sturdy and very walkable. I wouldn’t mind more “squish” under the balls of my feet but that’s my trouble spot. This is an investment piece at this price. I’m 46 and my feet need quality structure with decent arch to be comfortable - comfort is not something I’m willing to sacrifice any more. These deliver comfort in a pretty package. If you want an elegant workhorse - one pair that does it all, this is it.

Beautiful boots and very comfortable right out of the box! This is my fourth pair of Pikolinos boots and I’ll probably never buy any other brand! They are gorgeous and sexy!

These boots are SUPER comfortable. I had to order a size up in other Pikolinos styles, but this felt true to size. The leather is AMAZINGLY soft around the ankle but supportive enough around the foot. Worth the price!
