Pricey? Yes. Practical? Yes Comfortable? I love these! I tossed out three pair of so, so boots that I've been wearing for years now. These are more stable, and fit my narrow heel, medium-width, slender foot that always seems to crave more toe room. I'm usually a size 7B, and that's what fit this time. I look forward to wearing these this winter. They look much less clunky than my old "Renegade" Lowas. Finally, don't let the "Jade" in the color choices throw you. The trim is the palest, palest green. It's hardly noticeable.

I wanted to love these boots as there were so many good reviews of them. I wear size 10 all shoes so ordered size 10. Put on my hiking socks, slid them on and nope! Toe box too small. I would say I have wider feet but never have had to order wide shoes. I do have a high arch and tendinitis in my second toe but never really was able to evaluate how they would work with these issues. Took socks off. Nope. I was shocked as these were recommended for wider feet. Had to return. Totally bummed. On to my search for the best boot for my feet.

Dear Lowa, why did you put such a useless lace on this awesome boot? WILL NOT STAY TIED and just barely long enough for one knot, two knots is a struggle and doesn't solve the slipping problem just slows it down. The tongue stud might prevent loosening below the stud but does not prevent untying. PLUS the lace is thinner than standard so when I tried a pair of my favorite non-slip boot laces, they would not engage the lowest keeper which has a narrower opening than the top two keepers. So now I am on a "skinny non-slip boot lace" voyage WHICH SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY with a high dollar / highly reputable brand like Lowa. Bavarian bookmakers - You lost it on the details.

They fit great and are initially comfortable however they cause horrible pain at the base of my toes after only a couple of miles of use. I previously had the Lowa Renegade and they are much more comfortable.

I have a very narrow foot and only order narrow shoes. I ordered one style of Lowa that came in narrow and this style. They both felt the same in the width but this style felt like walking on air! It is extremely lightweight. They fit like a glove, are made very well, and I'm anticipating they wear well. I haven't worn them yet except around the house because I bought them for an upcoming trip to Iceland and Norway where we'll be hiking quite a bit. I'm very happy with the purchase even though they were pricey!

I have really been trying to like this boot. Especially for the price. I have been hiking around Ireland and Scotland for a month in bogs and on hard rocky surfaces. The good thing is that these are totally waterproof. And thata about the only thing I like about these boots. To me they are like hiking with two lead weights. There is no arch support so I bought some gel insoles to see if I could at least get some kind of comfort in the boot. It did not give me enough to like these boots any better. The laces keep coming untied and I am continually having to adjust them. I tried breaking them in for a month before I left home and they just aren't molding to my foot and are continuing to be clunky. I will go home and retire these although they still look like new. Going back to La Sportiva or Oboz as they are very comfortable boots but their waterproofing doesn't hold up as long as a fully leather boot would. I will take comfort any day.

Perfection. Much lighter than my Vasques and Zamberlans. My new favorite hiker for scrambly trails and trips to snow country. So glad they are making better high quality boots for women!

I LOVE this boot! I've hiked for 40 years and this is the best boot I have ever owned. I don't lace the pair of eyelets in the corners (3 from the top) due to chronic sensitivity on my ankle bones. This boot required no break-in time! Great support! I haven't yet used these on a wilderness hike but have hiked lots of city miles which I think can be even harder on my feet due to walking on the pavement. No issues! I do use an additional shoe insert (Goodfeet) Bonus that it is NOT made in China!

Fit and size were great. Felt supported by this boot on a rambling hike with a lot of steep up and downhill scrambling. There was some snow, and my feet did start to feel the cold after about 90 minutes. These are waterproof, but not so insulated that they are appropriate for long hikes in the snow.

I normally wear a 9.5 street shoe and a 10 in a sport shoe. I ordered the 10 and it was too long. So ordered the 9.5 and it was perfect. I have a narrow foot but I wear a thicker sock than I do in a sport shoe so it is fine. It is a classy looking shoe. I am looking forward to wearing it when the Michigan winter kicks in as I will be wearing them as I walk in cold snowy weather.

These shoes are my favorites. This is my second pair. The sizes are true and with the room in front, make for a very comfortable fit. The arch support is perfect for my feet. I left my other pair in KY and really missed having great hiking shoes in AZ. These shoes were easy to order, delivered in less than 5 days and, with no break-in period needed, ready to go. My other pair has always kept my feet dry, too. Any buyer should be happy with these.

Excellent, solid hiking boots. There is ample toe room even with wool socks. The ankle support is exactly what I need. I have hiking boots/shoes from Merrell, Oboz, Keen and Vasque but these are by far the best, most comfortable. I've had them out on steep, rocky terrain as well as mud. I love them!

Very expensive but well worth it. I ordered a half size up to allow for room for thick socks and downhill hikes (normally I wear a 7 in all other shoes). Did a 12 mile hike for their debut and they were surprisingly comfortable, except for a bruise that developed above my ankle. Very warm as well and kept my feet dry in the snow. A great quality boot.

I upgraded to these particular boots, because my husband had purchased this brand last year, and was VERY happy with them. I was pleasantly surprised!! My old boots were over 15 years old and hard to let go, but when I put these on, they already felt "broke in" I will purchase this brand again, if need be, and I highly recommend them.

Great show out of the box and super light for a mid hiking boot, however I don't think this will be comfortable in the long run, I would def need to get a new insole it has no cushion at all, this is a common comment of most people who buy Lowa's. The arch support is non existent. However and you can definitely tell these are quality shoes, they are one of the Lowa's still made in Germany and it shoes. If you don't have high arches and are willing to spend more money on a new insole go for these.

I have had Vasque and several other well-known boots over the years, but these are beautifully made and extremely comfortable from first wearing. I ordered my regular size, then ordered one half size up just in case I needed the extra space for thicker socks. I kept my regular size--perfect.

These boots are great looking, the waterproofing will keep your feet dry even after many hours of wet conditions. I can verify the durability as I've had these boots for two years. The soles are very hard with no cushioning at all and that is probably why after two years they show very little wear. My feet on the other hand have been worn out by these shoes. I will not buy this model again and I only recommend it if it will be worn for short periods.

This is my second pair of Lady Light GTX's. The first pair lasted for 3 1/2 years with the tread almost completely worn off. They're comfortable and you have incredible stability with them. Highly recommend!

I was beginning to think that with my aging, achy and sensitive feet I'd never find a solid hiking boot that also keeps me warm in frigid temperatures. I ordered and returned about 5 pairs of lower priced boots before finally taking a chance on these. Totally worth the price!! These boots were simply awesome from the moment I put them on! No need to break them in, no pressure points on my very sensitive lower shin above the ankle, roomy for heavy wool hiking socks - fabulous! For warmer weather I'll wear lighter socks and might insert a spacer insole beneath the removable insole for a snug fit. I am a size 8, but lately I've edged toward 8.5 in most other shoes. This was a perfect fit for me all over - heel, toe, etc! And I know if I ever need true orthotics, I can replace the insole with those.

This is the second pair of Lowa Lady Light that I ordered. It does support my bad ankle and fit true to size.

Great hiking boot; waterproof and lightweight

I normally take a size 38 EU, or 7.5 US. I found that the size 8 in this boot gave me the best fit. The toe box accommodates a moderately heavier sock allowing plenty of wiggle room for my toes. The heel sits securely, there is just the right amount of padding under the laces and the shaft gives me the support I wanted. I was looking for a waterproof hiking boot that will serve me for long hikes well as dog walks in damp conditions near the Chesapeake and I have found them. Thank you, Zappos!

these boots are awesome in every single way

These are lovely boots that look like they would be a pleasure to own. The pair I received had a funky insole in the right boot, I contacted Zappos for assistance. The customer service agent was very helpful but was unable to send a replacement pair due to the lack of stock. I have every confidence that these boots would be wonderful. I will watch for this boot to be back in stock and order again.
