Slightly narrow and tight at the front of the shoe. Shoe stretcher fixed that. A little narrower than most 8.5D shoes I have had in the past.

I really liked the fit of these shoes. These are the most comfortable dress up shoes I have ever owned. I can see some people saying it might fit a little bigger, but you are able to get it tight and is not to the point your shoe is falling off. Great standard dress up shoe, nothing too fancy about it. Happy with my purchase, would recommend!

I have worn expensive traditional wing tips for 35 years. I am never going back. The midtown feels like a sneaker. I bought a second pair right away. I wish the uptown was made with comfortech too.

I grew up a Florsheim kid: all my shoes for as long as I could remember were bought at an actual Florsheim store from "Uncle Milty" as he was known to everyone in the neighborhood. When I got older and moved out of Brooklyn, I continued to travel to Brooklyn to buy shoes until it became prohibitive and I changed brands. Then, a few weeks ago (many years later) I found myself in need of a new dress shoe to fit my very wide foot (3E-4E) and searched on Google . . . the Florsheim Midtown plain toe came up in my search results and it was exactly what I was looking for. A plain but classy dress shoe in EEE that was also a comfortable shoe (Comfortech). I ordered it on a hunch and sure enough my hunch was right. The only problem is that every shoe from every manufacturer seems to have their own interpretation about size. I had to literally downsize an entire size from what I have been buying elsewhere to get the right size in this shoe, but the Florsheim customer service reps made it completely painless and worked with me every "step" of the way. Sorry Florsheim . . . looks like you're stuck with me again (LOL).

I would normally need a 4E. I tried the 3E which was narrow. The 5E worked quite well so perhaps they may run a little narrow. The sole is flexible and has good traction.

They fit well. Broke in a couple days and were so comfortable I wore them to work. I stand up for up to 15 hours a day for 3 days straight and NO discomfort. Would strongly recommend! Also look very nice
