I bought these because they were recommended for people experiencing knee and ankle pain while running.
I've been having both while running on a treadmill. these do help. Not miraculous but significantly better than my previous shoes.

First: RIP Clifton 1. You were my favorite running shoe ever. The Clifton 3 features a wider toe box than the Clifton 2 (which were unwearable for me), and the 3 fits my wide-forefoot/bunion-skinny heeled feet pretty well. The comfort is sufficient that I can wear this without pain, but I wouldn't go so far as to say comfortable (I still sigh with relief when I take them off, but a girl's got to run...) The best feature of the Clifton 3 and other Hoka shoes is the thick sole, which provides plenty of cushion on a rocky trail. I wear a 7.5 shoe (but sometimes size up to 8 to give more room in the toe box); this fits me in a 7.5.

I am trying this shoe because the Hoka Stinson, which was my favorite shoe, is now much too narrow in the new version. This Hoka Clifton was not as narrow as the Stinson, and very comfortable, but I am still returning it and ordering a half size bigger in the hope that it will be wide enough. Crossing my fingers.

The shoes have lots of padding and look a little better than most Hoka's. They're also deep enough to accommodate orthotics. Unfortunately one of the shoes had a piece inside that rubbed on the outer corner of the toe box. This seemed like an manufacturing defect. I am returning them and ordering another pair.

Despite many reviews saying this show was "wide", alas, it is not the case. Toe case not boxy enough for me. Shoes felt comfortable but not wide enough for my challenging feet. Beautiful color.

Feel amazing when you first put them on but-
Way too much cushion... thought that may be good, but put too much pressure on the ball of my foot, making them very uncomfortable to wear, and my feet were actually throbbing after several hours of wear. I have a high arch, and these do have good arch support, but, again, so much that the weight was pushed on the ball. Sending back, sadly.

I have very wide feet. The right foot, on which I had surgery, did not have enough room in the toe box. I expected more of a rocker sole than there is on these. I had to return them.

I liked the cushy soles. However on wearing it for a little while around the house for a few days, it seemed like the front of the toes were getting numb. The shoe didn't seem narrow at first but maybe its just my foot or the way the front rises up a tad, the toes got a little numb. So I have to return this.

I have previously loved Hokas, but the heel on this one is very low cut and slipped no matter how tight I tied them. I am usually a 7.5 N and found a 8.5 M comfortable for length. Otherwise it is like walking on air. I needed to size up a whole size, like Nikes.

I purchased these solely on reading reviews- They are awesome looking and feel great- they are incredibly lightweight as well- if I had to mention a slight negative; it would be that my foot slips up at the heel ever so slightly when stepping- but not enough to return them- I'm quite pleased with these

This shoe was recommended to me by someone else who has foot problems. It had very good support and cushioned sole. However, the supports did not hit my foot in the right place - felt like something foreign was stuck in the middle of the ball of my foot. Hard to rate an athletic shoe for style, but I liked the design and color.ll

I usually love Hokas, but have been less impressed recently. These felt nice, but they aren't as comfy as the first Hokas I tried about 3 years ago (with those, I felt like I was running on clouds and could run further than usual). I ran a few times with these before running a marathon in them. At about mile 10 in the marathon, I noticed some discomfort on the inner side of one foot, on the side of the ball of the foot, and also on the bottom of my foot in that area. After the race, I saw that I had a fluid-filled cyst type thing there. Maybe I need wider shoes, but I never have before. Overall I think these are good shoes, but I am disappointed with the comfort level, especially compared to the early Hokas I had.

To me the shoe seems to run small overall. The toe box is big and bulbous so they are clunky looking. For me they weren't very comfortable overall.

Have Clifton One. Does anyone have Bondi 5 and how would you compare them to the Clifton? Koka rep says I should be wearing the Bondi for my bad knees.

These shoes were recommended by my chiropractor. I'm suffering from tendonitis and plantar fasciitis in both feet, as well as a stress fracture in one foot and a bunion on the other. I was so hopeful that these would give me relief based on the reviews. But when I tried them on, the pain in my heels were worse than in bare feet. The toe box on my other foot with the bunion was too tight, pushing my little toe uncomfortably against the side wall. I think they look great and seem well built. They simply did not work for me.

I wrote a review before I had worn these around the house. I would not recommend these shoes unless you try them in an athletic store. They may work for some but sadly not for me. I am returning but still Zapoos is amazing and I appreciate their customer service.

IT did not provide the cushioning that I expected after loving my Hoka recovery sandals. They were stiff and uncomfortable.

Not nearly as good as the clifton 2s! There's a lot less cushion and the stride is all off. I loved the clifton 2s and have many pairs but I won't be buying these again. should have sent them back

I have plantar fasciitis and pain in the ball of my foot so I was hopeful for these. Unfortunately the shoes were too tight in the toe box and rubbed my bunions. I also felt like I was getting a hot spot in the ball of my foot.

The cushioning is great and surprisingly springy. However, I am more of a forefoot striker and found these to give me tremendous knee pain. Not a normal gait for me. Might be ok for walking, but not running.

For me: these are the worse shoes I have ever own. Seriously. I saw so many positive reviews. These shoes appear to be made well which is the only justification for the price. However, at the end of the day I had so much foot, ankle and knee pain I thought I had a blood clot in my leg. I'm kicking myself for not saving the stuff to return these. I do have higher arches and tend to walk on the balls of my feet- but I still have never had a shoe hurt my foot as much as these.
