I LOVE the style of these! I bought the Navy Peacoat-- the GOLD accent is great! I felt they did NOT have much in the way of support, so I bought SUPERFEET insoles (Berry). With the SUPERFEET addition they are comfortable for all day, on my feet wear. I am an elementary school teacher and spend most of my day on my feet-- but, I like fun, stylish, casual shoes with support. Not always an easy find. So, I recommend these Brooks for style and fun... add a quality insole if you need support. Size-wise, I own two other pairs of Brooks that are size 8's (ALL my sporty sneaker-type shoes are 8's, all my "regular" shoes are 7's and 7 1/2's or Euro 38) --- so, I would say these are fairly true to size...they are a bit roomier in the toebox than my other size 8 Brooks, and have a bit more volume (height). These are so fun! A bit narrow though which keeps them from being super comfy for me. I kept them and do wear them but these aren't my walk 30,000 steps sight seeing shoes because of the width- my foot starts to feel funny on the sides. Otherwise a great shoe for stylish sneakers and just kicking around!

Love the style of this cool vintage sneaker! it fit true to size and makes a comfortable city walking shoe for me with pretty good arch support. Very happy would buy another pair.

These shoes are throw-back-retro awesome! I saw a friend of mine wearing them from across the room and ran up to her to find out the brand. I was surprised to find out that they were Brooks! I am a true size 8, but usually end up sizing a half size up in sneakers so the 8.5 fit perfectly. These are super comfortable as well. They are thin soled do not provide much support, but they are great for every day walking and casual ware. I ordered the Navy Blue with gold. These are so clean and classy looking and the flash of gold gives these a step up.

I bought the Anthracite/Gold combo. The gold really stands out on them, so there's a definite fun factor with these. They look narrow but don't feel narrow on my feet at all. I'm also typically a 7 in sneakers (or up to an 8 for actual running shoes) and the 7 fits me well with room to spare. I probably would have been fine with a 6.5, but I've been wearing a thicker no-show sock with these and that feels comfortable.

I was looking for a Brooks shoe that I could wear casually and not necessarily for the gym. I have had foot problems and Brooks is a great brand because the toe box is so large. This shoe has style, support and is fine to wear at work. I find I can wear my dress shoes less often, which was my goal.

These shoes are great if you are looking for a sneaker that has great arch support that doesn't scream "running shoe". Far more comfortable than my Converse or New Balance sneakers. I can definitely chase a toddler around a play ground in these.

I love these shoes. They are perfect for wearing with jeans and more casual outfits vs real athletic shoes.

The navy are adorable! Very lightweight and easy to wear.

Nice lightweight shoe good for all day wear. Fit was true to size. Color seemed a little more faded in person than in photo but still ok.

I loved these shoes from the moment I first laid eyes on them. I have the Vanguards in sand/gold and anthracite/gold (dark gray and gold). These sneakers are so comfortable and lightweight, yet offer a good deal of support. I don't have an arch so I may add some additional support in my shoes to get the complete feel I want, but I'm still deciding because the support is pretty good for walking-- just uncertain when it concerns running. They are true to size, offering a nice, snug fit yet enough space for comfort. I definitely recommend purchasing the Vanguards. I'm looking into what other Brooks I can wear at the moment because I'm so happy with these! :-)

Love these shoes SO much. I originally got the tan/gold and loved them so much I bought them again in the navy blue. I wore these in disneyland recently and after 10+ hours on my feet, they were amazingly comfortable. Would buy more for sure.

This is my 2nd pair of Brooks. The first pair (adrenaline 14) I got after a broken ankle and loved them. This pair I purchased to wear to Disney World soon. They are very light, which I love. The support this brand offers in their shoe is great to start with but I did add a superfeet insole and it made them perfect for me. I got the gray color. It's a nice medium grey and will go with a lot.

I was looking for a very comfortable shoe with style. I took these to Europe last week and wore them for the first time. I walked 10 miles a day for 7 days, was on my feet all day and these were great. I have high arches and normally sneakers hurt my feet and my lower back. I thought these might be too flat, but they were perfect! I actually just ordered a second pair so I have a backup!

I couldn't believe how comfy these shoes are! So happy with my purchase. Cute CAN be comfortable! I did add my own insert but only because my doctor recommended I wear some with every shoe. Great looking shoe for everyday wear. :)

These are great retro styled shoes. I bought them for casual wear, walking the dog etc. They are great and fit true to my normal shoe size.

This is my second pair of Brooks Vanguard shoes. I like the easy, casual style, and I find it more supportive to add my own gel arch insole.

Nice light weight sneakers that will go with lots of stuff for everyday wear. The little gold shimmer gives it a girly look I like and they fit very true to size. I am concerned about the white shoe laces, wish they were a similar color to the shoe so they blended in more.

This is EXACTLY the shoe I have been looking for, for day wear - comfortable but not a huge clunky running shoe. It is so attractive. BUT... size 10 was too big (I ordered up a half size as recommended.)And there are no more 9 1/2 anywhere on the web. I'm so sad! I am returning these, but will probably order a different color in my size. Where has this Brooks style been all my life?? Are they going to stop making this style? (No need to praise wonderful Zappos - we all know.)

When I received these shoes, I was a little disappointed in the small amount of cushioning, in my opinion. So I bought gel insoles for them and now I love them. Primarily I wear them around the house all day and they are comfortable, supportive, and cute. I highly recommend them.
