Bought a pair of the Doc Marten Newtons to replace my Doc Martens Felice boots (which were, sadly, only a limited run item). I loved my Felice boots to death, but the soles completely cracked, and they can't be salvaged. Anyway, the Newton boots are a decent replacement. Very lightweight, great profile, comfortable, sharp. Because the leather is so thin, I am skeptical about their lifespan. I don't expect these boots to last forever, but so far, so good! Overall, very pleased!
PS- I suggest ordering a pair of FLAT shoelaces (54 inch) from amazon or something. The round Doc shoelaces that originally came with kept coming untied.

Coolest pair of Dr. Martens I’ve owned yet! Beautiful design with a sturdy sole and high boot style (without the larger base of the classic boot). Unfortunately there isn’t any fabric lining the inside of the shoe. Additionally, they are a tad too wide for narrow feet making the shoe compress in odd spots on the sides; nonetheless, they are still delightfully comfortable to wear. Classic and sleek. Definite head turners. Two thumbs up... er, feet!

I have worn Docs for a while. This new model drops the traditional rubber DM sole for a different, harder rubber that looks like sneaker sole.
It doesn't have the combat style and satisfying weight of the original and looks more like a US industrial work boot. That said, it has the advantage of not squeaking like An Army of Mice when I walk down the linoleum hallway at work.
Conclusion: great if you like Docs but need a quieter sole.

They are my favorite boots. I do love the look of the originals but my feet can’t handle that weight. So this is a really good compromise. I’m so happy to wear docs again.

LOVED Docs in the '90s and wore several of the styles. Recently tried on the old school boots and hated them! Fit was off, big and clunky. Decided to try the flex foot and so glad I did! I'd say the fit is about a half to full size off, but I find that all Doc boots are. I typically wear a 9, sometimes an 8.5 in other shoes but with these I got an 8 and they fit perfect.

Compared to "regular" Docs, these boots are super-lightweight--and they require no break-in time, which is great! The new sole makes these feel like sneakers, so they're practical enough to wear commuting by bike. No regrets buying.
Even so, I removed one star for comfort; the insoles rub weirdly at the arch, the boots feel a little narrow, and although these boots don't require set-aside break-in time like other Docs, they still rubbed a little too much on the heels for the first few days--albeit not enough to cause a blister, or anything!

Ordered this for an upcoming trip where I'll be walking a lot. I'm usually 9-9.5 and the "Women's 9" was a little tight, and would be small with thicker socks. The boot also went up a little high and I didn't love the style. Returning.

I had 1460s back in the day and thought these could be an ok substitute. I knew they had a different style and accepted that for the lighter weight. However, taking them out of the box I was SO disappointed. I'm sorry but I think they look very cheap and feel the same. The shape of them is just not similar to the 1460s and look like some bobo hightop sneakers. The leather is thin and not very soft - feels like a ripoff boot you'd get for $19.99 at a shoe discount warehouse. They weren't at all comfortable either. I got the 6 after trying to decide what size based on reviews. I normally wear a US8 or 8.5 and these were a full size too big but also narrow. Any smaller and it would be too narrow to get my foot in. The noise people mentioned is truly a bad noise. I couldn't imagine it would be a dealbreaker but even if they felt good or looked good I think it would be for me. I'm bummed...I would love to have my old 1460s that I got rid of but they were so heavy I don't know if I'd be able to deal with that these days.

I really wanted to love these Docs but I was really disappointed when they arrived! I already own the Shoreditch and was expecting a higher-end version of those. When they arrived, they were clunky and way shinier than I had anticipated. Not only that, the leather was making a pretty fierce squeaking sound every time I took a step. Overall, they felt true to size and I imagine would have been a generally comfy shoe. I just couldn't deal with some of the styling issues and for the price, its mandatory I be in love. Back they go.

I tried really hard to like these boots. I just could not get over the cheap quality. Dr. Martins used to be made with real leather. I'm not sure what these are made of. I was really looking forward to. When I pulled them out of the box I was so disappointed. I wore them a few times and just couldn't get over how cheap they are. I am returning them.
