Bought these last December for yard work in the Pacific Northwest. I have 4 acres and mostly am mowing, cutting back blackberry bushes (about 100 yards), lopping off dead tree limbs, hauling things to the burn pile, etc. So nothing major, but needed some protection for my feet and something waterproof with traction for the rainy season. First impressions are the leather is fairly thin as the steel toe section of the boot is very apparent in terms of the leather being smooth versus creased over the remainder of the boot. But not a problem - bought these for yard work. Additionally the waterproofing is excellent. Spent hours in the mud and rain and my feet were perfectly dry. However, within the first three days one of the eyelets at the top of one boot broke, so knew that these were fairly thin metal. But I could live with it. The deal breaker was in June I was digging up sod to build a fire pit. It was a 20 ft radius circle I was clearing for the fire pit and seating area, so a fair amount of digging. After ~4-5 hours of using the shovel, I realized the sole of the boot completely disintegrated and wore completely through to my foot where I was stepping on the shovel. Add insult to injury, a second eyelet busted as well. So not satisfied. I didn't break the bank on these as I didn't think I needed the most rugged footwear for yard work, but would have expected these to last more than 5 months of mostly light yard work.

I bought these because my job required steel toe boots. They are very sturdy and last a really long time. My job required lots of walking and these boots never hurt my feet. The waterproofing is decent. The padding ankles are a godsend. The steel toe means that they are less comfortable for walking than a non-steel toe, but if you need that feature, these are good boots.

the boot over all is ok. they feel cheaply made and they aren't really comfortable. I will need to buy insoles for them. also they say they're waterproof, but not so much. feet were wet the first day. I will try some waterproofer on them. I will not buy these again. pretty disappointed.

Great boots but the sole peeled off after only a few months of wearing 2-3 times a week. Zappos was kind enough to replace free of charge. Just the reason why I stay with Zappos. Thank you Zappos!

Great shoe! Cannot beleive that these are as good as they are for the price! Very comfortable, you don't even realize that it's steel toe! Five stars would defiantly buy these again in the future!

Wore these boots working in the garden about 8 times and the front half of the sole detached from the upper. Tried gorilla glue and it held about 3 more uses. Now its detached again. Worse quality boot I’ve ever owned.

I bought these for work in June ad now on October the soles have already worn through. I work outside and it has been raining the last few weeks. This is not ideal. I really expected better from wolverine, I would not buy these again.

Shoe was almost a size too big but the shoe itself was awesome I'll be exchanging sizes of the same shoe.

I do a lot of physical labor and carpentry and I absolutely love these boots. For my line of work I have to wear all black, which finding a nice steel that is completely black at a good price is hard to come by. When I found these I IMMEDIATELY got a pair and have been wearing them everyday since. They hold up extremely well, I put a beating on them. They feel high quality, and they make you feel supported, I recommend putting inserts in that will be more comfortable for 10+ hour standing shifts. I think the only problem I have had with them is the fact I was too rough on the back pull tab. I had stretched the leather so much it couldn’t take it and broke when putting my boots on. Which honestly doesn’t bother me bc I can still use it. I have been wearing these for a little over a year now and think that these will be the ones I continue to purchase. And most importantly, I have all my toes despite all the stuff dropped on them. Haven’t felt a thing. Very nice boot. Wolverines got a customer for life!

I love this work boot. I have had lots of trouble finding a boot that offered a 4E width. My wife told me that the guys at her work (construction) have used Zappos for years and never had a problem. With the no hassle return policy I figured I couldn’t go wrong. I’m in landscaping so I’m walking on all kinds of terrain all day long. These boots give me plenty of support and keep my feet dry. I give these boots a five star rating. If your rating system went to 10 stars, I would give them a 10.????

A bit too uncomfortable for everyday work.

The size was good but OMG the comfort is terrible I'm going around with my new boots the 2nd day now and I feel that I can't walk with it I gotta buy some inserts I don't know if will help but I still going to try. But the shoe is a strong boot for work

Good shoe, but not good for standing jobs. I had to buy insoles to stand with them. Also it's hurting my right ankle.

The shoes can leave your feet burning with pain with near zero effective cushion. Could barely walk after 4.5 hours and will return ASAP! Upper material is also to stiff.

Your people do not know how to send the right size and then you tell me you don’t have that size maybe you should not put the size you don’t have on the site not happy with the Service

They're honestly one of the best pairs of boots I've had in a long time. I knew I already loved the brand Wolverine, but these are the best for work. I deliver for Amazon, so I definitely need ankle support. They're a little heavy, but I don't mind that at all.

Fit was perfect and true to size. Seems like a perfect work boot, time will tell. Just received 9/14/2025

Very comfortable boot especially considering it is a steel toe work boot. Feels good all day long. Seems very sturdy and likely to take a beating. Nice basic boot look.

I just have been getting the same boot the past 3 purchases. I was in love with the Doc Martens steel toes but they annoyingly discontinued all their wide boots. I wish these were the same soft leather, got an area that needed a band aid about an inch above the top of where sandals reach up to, so I needed to wear sandals as I broke them in, just due to how tremendously far I walk all of the time. Just stiffness, no eyelet problem at all like the 1 star reviewer. The sole won't break on a shovel, it would need to be a shovel that is sharp on the top and not made right. I still have my old Wolverines I use for work, just like the Doc Martens used to be, still fine but just the rear heel worn all the way through from major road hiking all of the time. Could use softer more Doc Martens style sole, a bit harder, still the best boot I can find.

These are great boots. My husband says he is always going to buy them because he does construction work and they are comfortable.
