Really liked how they looked but they are narrower than I expected. I wear a medium but have trouble with a bunion on one foot.

I was excited to try these and have another type of shoe. I typically only wear my dansko clogs because they give the strong arch support I need. The Paisley did not have the same type of arch support and my foot collapsed in. Not all of the wood foundations for Dansko shoes are made the same. Sad to say, I'm sending these back and wishing for some new, highly supportive styles.

I thought they were very stiff. I prefer a softer shoe/sneaker. As for the style they are very nice and I was bummed that they were not the comfort I was looking for. There is some softness and cushion to the sole, but the shoe itself was stiff.

My foot: Bunions + tenancy to Plantar's Fasciitis. Standing on ruler, I am 10" long and 4.25" wide (at bunions). Heel and ankle are narrow, foot is slim on top. I have wide calluses on the big toe, and seek a wide toe box to minimize corns where the bunioned big toe presses in against the 2nd toe. I use a cork-supported custom orthotic for arch support, but occasionally find enough arch support in some shoes (Dansko). I ordered and compared three shoes: **Vasque Mantra 2.0 (10W) **Oboz Sawtooth Low BDry (10W) **Dansko Paisley (more of a sneaker, but I love the Dansko foundation) (40) I wasn't looking for a hard-core hiking shoe so much as I was looking for a trail shoe: I walk about 4 miles a day (dogs) on dirt roads with moderate ups and downs. I had begun to develop Plantar's again, and had discovered the reason: my old Patagonias were entirely flexing in their middle. I have learned that a shoe that will not flex in the middle is the shoe that prevents Plantar’s. I had to immediately dismiss the Oboz sz10W (photo, left), as it FULLY FLEXES IN ITS MIDDLE. End of story for those of us with Plantar's. Even in its wide iteration, it is less wide than the Vasque 10W (touched the sides of my 4.25” bunions) without socks. But it was far more attractive than the Vasque, and I was sad to see it go. It appears to have lots of nice ventilation at the top, and the four tones of colors make it a spunky-looking shoe. I do note that the lace sides are very close together, which means there is little room for actual width adjustment. It has solid arch support (I might not need my orthotic insert) and the heel is narrower and nicely collared for less slip. The sole is not marked as Vibram, but the treads are deep—about 4mm. I also had to dismiss the Dansko Paisley (sz40) (photo, middle). It is not wide enough, although I considered ordering the 41 or 42 to see if I could gain enough width that way. Other Danskos have been wide enough for me, so this disappoints. The sole is by far the least flexible of the three in the middle, which is good news. It is also the best of the three for making the foot look smaller. Its arch support is not as full as I would like, although it accommodated my orthotic just fine, and thereby became acceptable in that way. From an aesthetics standpoint, this shoe is strangely laced far forward into the toe box, which I think makes it look less attractive. Not sure why Dansko made that choice—unless it is a nod to making it possible for the shoe to become more narrow than it already is (which seems to fly in the face of Dansko’s core fan base—people with foot problems like bunions). Its Vibram sole is not deeply treaded (2mms only), which surprises me. This makes it a city-only shoe, really, and significantly reduces the tread life—especially for those of us who are vigorous walkers and tend to strike harder on the heel. There is less padding at the heel, but it snugged my narrow heel comfortably. I ultimately chose the Vasque Mantra 2.0 (sz10W) (photo, right), despite its being the least attractive of the three. Its bunion area is generous (does not rub my 4.25 in SmartWool socks), and despite its slightly larger ankle, it (alone of the three) has double grommets in the ankle area, so I was able to lace it well enough there to achieve no slip. I notice that it has more fabric and less leather in the area that surrounds the ankle, and I wonder if this will result in more (or less) give in that area over time. BTW, the Vibram sole on this one has treads 5mm deep. On my foot, there is a slight pucker at the bunion area, which tells me this shoe can accommodate a wider foot than my 4.25-incher. The shoe really only has two tones of color, as the tiny touches of lime green at the back and in flecks in the laces are so minimal as to not count, and even the two tones are barely distinct from each other. Sucking in my vanity (which wanted a more attractive shoe), I took it on my 4-mi. walk, and it did beautifully straight out of the box. Comfort and support reign supreme, after all, and this shoe delivers best out of the three.

Gorgeous shoes, hate to return them, but the following issues were a "no go": 1. Forefoot is more narrow than the usual Dansko offerings, and uncomfortable. 2. Heel cut into Achilles tendon in just a few steps. 3. No arch support, would have to replace with an orthotic like Super Feet. I'm no longer willing to "break in" shoes on chance they'll work out, so back they go. Hopefully they'll work out for someone else.

I will be sending these back because of the fit. They are too small. The irritating fact is that I have a black pair of these shoes (same brand, same style/model) and they are a size 38 and they fit me perfectly. I have had them for two years and they have been great shoes. I needed another pair so I ordered the same size and style, just a different color. The shoes are too small. I will be ordering a pair the next size up because I have loved these shoes. I just would like to see some consistency between sizes from year to year.

Thank you, Dansko! These shoes fit my feet perfectly! I have a thin foot so I often find shoes/boots to be too roomy. These are not.

These were the perfect fit and comfortable right out of the box. We are planning a trip in a few weeks to Europe and I know I will be doing lots of walking on cobblestones. I need a shoe with stiff support for walking and these were perfect. I usually have to buy inserts for my walking shoes, but the inserts in these are exactly what I need with excellent arch support. That saves me $40-$50 right there! I wish they came in something other than suede. I hope I am able to keep them clean. I will give them a spray with scotch guard and take a suede brush in in my suitcase just in case.

Love the Dansko Paisley - I just ordered my fifth pair since 2018. (It's now 2024.) My first pair -- black waterproof suede with purple stitching -- saw me through a trip to Europe with cobblestone walking and a couple of hikes. The tread is deep enough (when new) for light hiking. A great option for vacations when you just want one pair of shoes because they look nice enough with nice slacks for all but the dressiest restaurants, and clean up with a light wipe with a damp washcloth. My only caution is that the heel of the Vibram sole wears out faster than I expected. On all of my pairs, the black rubber on the heal wore through after a while to show some white material, and the tread pretty much disappeared. I walk ~ 4 miles a day, mostly on streets, and each pair has lasted me about a year. At the end they still look pretty good. I've tried resoling the heel of a couple of pairs with a Vibram sole, but the tread on those also wore out very quickly so I guess it's just the way I walk. :-) (I'll note that I weigh about 112, but I push off hard.) Only some of the colors are waterproof. Mostly when I've looked those have been been black and navy blue. For the other colors, the suede nap wears off if the shoes are worn when it's wet outside. I've tried other walking shoes for variety, most recently one from Clarks, but this one is far and away the most comfortable I've tried for long walks because it's not very bendy.

Love these shoes! I usually wear a wide, but the medium width is perfect. The arch support is excellent, and I can walk in these shoes all day.

So far so good, no problems with rubbing or pressure points. Had them on all day the second time I wore them. Extremely comfortable, no break in time needed. Will probably buy another color.

Today was my first day wearing them. They felt good right out of the box, but I didn't want to write a review until I'd at least worn them for a few hours walking around. I'm a little bit shocked by how comfortable and supportive they feel because they're not particularly plush, but somehow they feel good. I bought them for an upcoming visit to a city and wanted a shoe that would look presentable but also allow me to walk around pain-free for many hours. I think these will fit the bill.

I admit it took a while to settle in to this shoe. I was used to the slighter style (Henriette). After several walks of 4 or 5 miles, I realized that this was an incredibly comfortable shoe! Great arch support, roomy toe box, adjustable laces, and just a very handsome shoe. I then bought another pair in red and get positive comments whenever I wear them. I am glad I stayed the course and took the time to play with the laces and the fit. Now that summer is over, I know I will be wearing these most every day.

Excellent support on footbed and around foot. Feel perfect for all-day walking as a tourist, but you could also hike on moderate terrain. Had to size up a half-size to accommodate thick sox and allow for swelling during the day. Very good quality out of the box. Haven't actually road-tested them yet. They are a bit more stylish than an all-terrain runner or light hiker.

This is a great shoe. Unfortunately, I have to return since my foot needs a wide size. I live in a No. Ca. coastal town where is snows almost never. This past winter it snowed for 4 days. Suddenly, I need a waterproof, secure tread shoe. This would have been the one, if only it were offered in a wide size. It is great looking, seems well made. I don't know why companies ignore those of us who don't fit the mold. If you are a medium width foot, you can rely on this shoe being true to size and I do recommend it.

Nice shoe! good support. I have a short wide foot with additional small bunions. I wear Clarks 38 W, Reikers 38, LLBean 7 or 7 1/2 W. I tried this shoe in 37 W and 38. I found the 38 best as, while both were comfortable, the heel slipped on the W shoe. The length difference is minimal and will likely allow a thicker sock in colder weather.Returning the 37 W, keeping the 38. Like the blue!
