Daily bike and/or subway commute. Mine are so worn that they look like they are owned by homeless people. Waiting for spouse to give me another one. If they don't work for you then you are really fussy.

I owned the last generation bag which lasted about 5 years. I liked the bag but after spending 3 months with the new version, I can definitely say the current bag is a big improvement over the older model. Improvements include: - more rigidity, especially if the bag has a light load - because of the improved rigidity and the better zippers vs. the older model, closing pockets s much easier - how the compartments and the pockets are laid out is well designed...each has a useful function - the shoe pocket is awesome - the ventilated mesh back is a major improvement - the addition of drink pockets are welcome but not well implemented As noted in other reviews, the drink pockets are a bit odd and I miss the front pocket of the old model. It was useful for stashing a rain jacket. But without a doubt, the new model is a major improvement over the old model. FWIW: I use the bag when motorcycling, cycling, traveling (as a carry-on/day tripper) and everyday commuter.

I received this bag as a Christmas gift last year and I love it. I especially love the shoe pocket (sometimes for a change of shoes, other times for a rain jacket), the rain cover, the sunglasses pocket, and the key ring/elastic (no more digging for keys!) It's super roomy - I can easily carry a change of clothes, a decent-sized lunch bag, and a change of shoes, along with all my daily stuff (phone, keys, wallet, etc) with no problems.

I've had this pack for a few weeks now and have taken it on a weekend trip to South Carolina so I wanted to write a quick review. This pack is built with quality and well thought out with respect to the materials, compartments, etc. I use it mostly for daily use commuting on public transit and also some light commute biking. The pack is great for that purpose and has more than enough room for my lunch, gym clothes, and all my accessories. I'm glad I went with the 32 litre, its a perfect size. The pack was also easy to use for a weekend getaway and allowed me to pack all my clothes, toiletries, shoes, etc. and could be used as carry-on for my flight and also fit neatly under the seat in front of me. If I had any suggestions/critiques for this pack, it would be that the straps on either side that allow you to tighten the pack down look sloppy and are annoyingly placed and make it difficult to pull your water bottle out from the holster. Also, unless you're some kind of gymnast, there is no way that you can reach to pull your your water out of the holster on either side to take a sip while wearing the pack and definitely not while riding on a bike. Also, I wish there were some way to lock the settings on your straps so that they don't loosen and occasionally require readjustment. Lastly, although I realize the pack is cyclist oriented and I do like the helmet holder, I think it would have been more functional to have a cross-weave bungie type thing (not sure exactly what it's called) on the back of the pack instead of the helmet holder to allow for more versatility to hold a helmet or a sweatshirt, jacket, or whatever else.

This version of the Momentum 32 was a warranty replacement, for me, for the previous generation. This version is simply miserable in comparison to its predecessor. The main disappointment is that the previous generation's "compression straps" truly affected the pack's size: tighten them the pack got smaller, loosen: bigger. On this version of the pack the compression straps have ZERO functionality at all. The part of the pack that the straps might compress don't actually compress. The compression straps have this cutie design like it was designed by a fashion designer rather than a backpack designer and they don't do ANYTHING. Meanwhile the two main compartments are far smaller than the previous generation Momentum 32. Next, there are way too few compartments for fragile things. There are pockets and compartments that have no discernible use at all, because almost nothing can fit in them. Next, I'm not sure that having elastic on the waist straps makes sense or not: I think we want the waist strap to be tight in order to lift the pack off the shoulder straps.

Momentum 32 I use this pack for 3 month now, not on a daily basis, but often, and just returned from Germany using as my day pack. Understand this backpack was designed for bike commute, but it should be possible to be used a a day pack while commuting to the office and not as a "messenger" bag. While the main compartment is spacious, with or without the secondary compartment used, the very strange side pockets and compression strap design limits the performance and usefulness of the pack. Due to the compression strap the lap top compartment has a limited opening, the compression strap does very little and can not be called a compression strap and the side mesh pockets seem to smaller, even they look bigger than on the Comet 32. The open mesh/nylon design not only limits the stretch and after two uses the mesh is already broken (a normal water bootle - the Comet has the same problem - the mesh quality seems to be a lower quality standard as the rest of the pack & the pack was not overloaded) but it also limits the use of the very small front compartment. The front compartment is poor - the zipper pocket for wallet etc is very small, the two mesh pockets are deep but the top elastic is too loose an items easily slip out. There is not single pen holder. Change the questionable side mesh pocket construction, and add the front organiser from the Comet and we got a nice 27/7 bag. Not easy to keep the pack standing upright. The top carry handle looks and feels thougher than the one on the Comet - I prefer the Momentum 32 version/construction. The carrying straps with the elastic are nice addition and make a heavy load easy to carry. All in all the main compartment and the elastic carry system are the plus of the pack, laptop and front compartment are an addition, but less useful than on other Osprey packs. The side mesh pockets - not sure if I wanna use them while riding a bike - afraid of things falling out - The don't look convincing

This is used for work and is great to transport Laptop, Accessories, Workout Gear and Shoes in their own 'garage'. A buckle has failed, which could be replaced, but I have to ship the backpack back to Osprey where it will take 3-5 weeks to be fixed. So what do I do in the meantime? Buy another backpack? I could see being without it for a week, but this time period makes the Guarantee impractical, a bad joke.
