I added the 2L reservoir and the rain cover. I e taken it hiking, skiing, and biking. My little laptop fits perfectly in the pouch provided for it. It has been to many business meetings too.

This comes on all my trips with me - airplane carry on, beach, day hikes, coffee shops (fits my 15" macbook pro in the interior sleeve). Plenty of pockets for organizing. Hydrapack fits inside nicely. Has a water repelling backpack cover that fits (sold seperately) nicely and works well in light to medium downpours. I bought the bite valve cap separately, it's necessary. I'm small, 5'2' with a skinny frame and the backback doesn't overpower me and fits well. Hydrapack leaked once (replaced kindly by Osprey at no charge), now backpack smells like mildew. Researching how to clean. Has never ripped. Would buy again.

I got this pack for my birthday years ago. Since then, I have beat the living Daylight (pun intended) out of it, & it still looks & performs like it did when it was new. I operate in tough environments & weather conditions, & as such need gear that will preform. I have used this pack in rain, snow, sleet, light hail, high winds, storms, thrown it down on to rocks, sprayed it with mud and smacked it with branches mountain biking just to name some of the more common abuse I put it through. I mostly use it now for camping & travel, either using it as I go from class to class at BSA summer camp or if I go off for a short hike with fellow scouts, or with me in the cabin of a car/plane to hold what I need for the drive/flight. I used to use this pack daily for carrying my stuff to/from school, & then from class to class, as well as to go shopping. I don't use it for that anymore not because it was not good enough, it did great, but because I upgraded to panniers (although I still use it to go from class to class in school). It should be mentioned that I also used it for day hikes. I will also use it for day or multi day trips out to more touristy places on occasion. On the one negative I noted, the side mesh stretch water bottle pockets don't hold water bottles. However, you can very easily put yours in the outside shove it fabric pocket. I put the compression strap through the loop on the lid of my water bottle. However, I have used them to nest my trekking poles in, which I then anchored to the side of my pack with the compression strap.

Great overall pack. I have used this for work where it fits a 15inch macbook pro, traveled with it and used it for hikes up to 8 miles long.

This is a great little pack it replaced a 25/year old North Face. It holds my laptop/tablet in a padded pouch and has plenty of room for papers etc while business traveling. After business is over it works great for day bikes. It will hold extra clothing, snacks, etc. the external pockets are great. The stretchy ones are too small for taller 20 oz water bottles, so I bought a fat short 16 oz bottle. For longer more serious use, I bought the 2 L hydro slip in pack. A perfect fit and just like the 3L comes with the magnet. Love this pack. I also have a 24 L Stratus (sp?). Love it ad well.

My wife and I each received a Daylight Plus Pack with hydration bladder as part of a package from the company that organized our 12 day tour of Israel. These packs were amazing, useful, durable, lightweight and comfortable. From our tour group of fifty there were no complaints. I particularly liked the rubberized zipper pulls and would love to have similar zipper pulls on other packs of mine whose pulls are failing, falling off, etc.

This is a great small pack. Bought it for my wife it wil hold everything that she needs for a hike at for travel. People complain about the side pockets not holding water bottles, they are not water bottle pockets, as the description says- side mesh pockets- it is a hydration pack. Use a bladder. As I said great small pack. If you need more pockets or a bigger pack buy one don't rate it poorly because you bought the wrong one.

I bought my Daylite Plus last fall but wanted to use it with a hydration bladder before posting a review, which I finally did last week. This is a wonderful pack. It is just the right size for my 6'0" self. It holds plenty of cargo in a simple configuration. It is very lightweight. But the main criterion for judgement is this: When I'm using it, do I forget that I have it on my back. The answer is yes. It's that simple. I'll admit that I've never loaded it with heavy cargo, but I don't need to. Water, snacks and a few apparel items are all I need to put in it for my use. The name is self-explanatory: "day" and "lite." If you need a pack for an overnight or heavy cargo, look for a different model. If you're looking for a pack to enjoy lightly-loaded day hikes, I highly recommend the Daylite Plus.

I bought this pack recently to use on day hikes with my wife and dog. I wanted something we enough room to carry water for all three of us, some food, some basic supplies, and rain jackets. Having everything is one pack makes it so that the other person can wrangle the 90 pound puppy. We are able to do all of that with this pack. It really has a lot of space, and it still sits comfortably when loaded close to its max. It is easy to adjust, so we will occasionally switch out who has the pack and who has the dog. We like this pack so much, we actually bought another one for use when we aren't out with the dog. I would very highly recommend this pack.

I recently purchased this for myself for BSA's 2017 National Jamboree. This being the official day pack. It is amazing for the price. I am able to attach my hydration system with ease. It can fit quite a few items inside. I like the front pocket in the front It does not adjust well with my body composition(tall and skinny), but It is not that bad. I do wish there could be more space inside. Overall I like it

Great bag, just the job for kicking about and work. Love the assorted pockets which are so handy. Still getting used the straps on either side, which I find can get in the way of easy access. Could live without those, but otherwise very happy. Thank you.

I really like this pack, although I wish the middle pocket extended to the full depth. Very comfortable pack and carries weight well.

It does not have enough organizational zipper pockets for my purposes. Your organizer panel needs 2 to 4 mesh pockets with Zippers.

I got this Daylite plus pack for daily use and travel. Mostly I use it to carry lunch and extra clothing to work. The quality and durability are obvious. I use all the pockets and they are well proportioned. Sometimes I am annoyed by the height of the handle at the back of my neck.

I got the Daylite as a pack that I could attach to the Sojourner, one that I could place under the seat of a plane for essentials on long flights, and that would serve as a day pack during trips. It serves both purposes adequately, but I like it less well than other osprey packs I've used. The fabric is a bit stiff. I like the stretch fabric, particularly on the front pocket, that Osprey uses on other packs, making the pack more flexible to hold more gear. The front pocket is roomy, but doesn't have a secure closure, which makes me hesitate to use it for some items. I would also like to see some of the ties and attachments that Osprey uses on other packs on the Daylite so that, for instance, I could secure a jacket or walking sticks to the outside. I am currently using both the Daylite and Sojourner on a trip to Norway, and everywhere I go I see Osprey packs, a clear choice among travelers and outdoor enthusiasts!

I love the compact form and lightweight but with no insulation the pack started sweating and the bottom was wet, then the iced water became warm while I was riding I made an insulation sleeve for the bladder and will try it out this morning. The straps are comfy, the pockets are handy and it's a good fit for my short torso. High quality, like all Osprey products

The shoulder straps are very comfortable and the weight is nicely balanced. I don't like that I havent figured out how to get a drink from my water bottle without taking the whole pack off.

Durable, expandable, smart design - perfect for daily work commute or day hikes BUT dimensions are more suited to average male despite the straps, and very awkward for a smaller female so long hikes with a bunch of weight would stress the back. Also hip straps should have some thickness/padding where they sit on the bone.

I wear this backpack almost every day. To work with my laptop, on a short weekend trip, or shorter hikes. So far the backpack feels very high quality. It has just enough pockets for organization, plus it's pleasantly lightweight and minimalist. I only have two minor reservations - you always have to open the compression straps from the side, otherwise the entry area is too narrow. And the second con is the back of the backpack, where the mesh combined with the sweaty cotton of the t-shirt pinches unpleasantly. Overall, I like the backpack and I especially like the design.

This is my first hiking pack and it works near-perfectly for my needs. Easy to pack it with anything you might need on anything from a short, 1-2 hour hike or a daylong excursion. Very comfortable on my small frame, the weight is distributed well enough you barely notice it at time, even when cramming it full of gear. But for bigger bodies, this might not be the right pack. The storage is sufficient for my needs, but quickly you start to feel the lack of storage space. If you're making longer trips you'll find yourself wishing you supplemented it with something else or brought a larger bag. This problem is exacerbated by a lack of easy access pockets, so you have to stretch awkwardly or put the pack down to take a phone or map out of the shove-it pocket. That, and the limited space, are the reason it's not a 5 star pack. Honestly considering another one to loan out to hiking buddies, it's just so comfy and while the space can be a little lacking if you pack a lot of stuff, it pulls off it's intended niche with flying colors. Highly recommended, but if you're more of a long-distance hiker, like to pack a lot of gear or are built a little large another pack might be a better fit.

Love this backpack! It fits a lot and is very comfortable to carry. There are a lot of compartments for organization and I can fit everything I need cor my everyday life, including a business laptop, 1 inch thick A4 folder, A5 agenda, lunch cooler, my handbag stuff fits in the smaller compartments and I can also fit a jacket in the open pocket at the front. I use this for work, travel, trekking and food shopping. The straps are comfortable and my back doesn't sweat much as the bag has the AirScape system. If this had lockable zippers it would be perfect!

I am brand new to hiking and this pack checked all the boxes for day hikes. 5-16 mile day hikes, hydration compatible, comfort, light weight, no unnecessary features. I also liked the look of this pack a lot. Now that i have some miles with it I have moved away from the hydration bladder to just two 1 L water bottles. I do not like that I can't access the bottles while moving but its not a deal breaker. I probably could if I was younger and more flexible but I am not. I do think its a comfortable pack, fits what i need and i still can add the 2.5 L hydration bladder if going on an extended day hike or the weather calls for it. I am looking to get another pack, id like to try some multi day hikes and will need something larger. I will continue to use this pack for my day hikes, i really do like it. I was very surprised by how light it was when i unpacked it. Having a light pack was not on my radar initially, i was more focused on capacity, appearance, hydration compatibility. I took one star off for water bottle access while moving as this is pretty important to me.

Hare Krsna Osprey !! This pack has traveled with me from coast to coast multiple times. It has seen woods , forests, snow covered mountains, the beach, the airplane and everywhere in between. It miraculously carries everything I need, plus some of my kid's stuff. By far it has been one of my most valuable pieces. Whatever the cost 5 years ago or today, it is worth every penny . This pack is so durable it has stood the test of time. Rarely do I leave the house without it. Day hiking trips for my family happen at least 4 times a week. I wear it bike riding, snowboarding, to the tea shop. I use this pack practically everyday. It's lightweight and comfortable fully packed. Personally, the slimmer hip belt is just fine for me. The side mesh pockets seem to be getting a lot of flack, but as one reviewer suggested once, pin it to support the size of your bottle. It works. Otherwise, they're perfect for lil alcohal bottles (antimicrobial lotions are nasty), tissues, gloves even a fitted beanie. As for the chemicals, like my husband said , "we are surrounded by these things daily." ** Osprey will repair or replace their products !?!? This promise can't be beat . I love both my packs and plan to remain a committed customer !!

Fits well and easy to adjust. Can barely feel it on. Good for carry water and a meal or two plus a fleece and shell but not much more. A more substantial hip belt /pad would be nice

I am not a minimalist but a "functionalist" when it comes to gear. I wanted something to carry incidentals on short hikes with the dogs or a pack around town. Front pockets give me quick access to keys, wallet, phone (or extra poop bags). Enough cargo room to carry extra shirt, towel, whatever. Pleasantly surprised to see this bag works with add-on water bladders, which are well designed. Only real complaints are side mesh pockets are too shallow for water bottles (when not using the water bladder) and pack feels a bit narrow when putting on (for those of us with broader shoulders). Good price point, too.
