They are comfortable. They are stylish. But, if you want an easy on, easy off boot...stay away. You have to loosen the laces almost to the bottom of the tongue to be able to put them on or take them off. I've owned plenty of boots. I've had 8" Red Wings, simple chukkas, Vasque Sundowners and everything in between. For some reason, these are so stiff and inflexible at the top that your foot just won't slide in without unlacing them. No other boot I've had has ever had this problem.

Pros: These boots are super light! The materials look great aesthetically and the proportions of the boot are great, too. Cons: These boots are not waterproof. Since I have been let down by previously owned shoes claiming to be waterproof, I tested these out for waterproofness before wearing them at all. The leather appears to be waterproof/repellent, but when submerged to the 3rd laces eyelet (i.e., middle eyelet) they were soaked inside within a matter of minutes. My assumption is that while the leather body of the shoe is waterproof, the synthetic upper is not. The lack of full waterproofness isn't a huge deal breaker for me, though. It's just important to know that these boots will not keep your feet dry in big puddles or crossing small streams (e.g. >2 inch water depth). I live in both upstate New York and Washington and these will be mostly used for day-to-day wear during the snow/rainy months to get to/from school and work. They fit true to size, but feel a tad narrow in the toe box for me. This is fine considering that I hadn't planned to wear these for actual hiking or miles of use in a single outing (i.e., my feet wouldn't be swelling like on a backpacking trip). I will keep these boots since they appear as they will repel water enough for brief downpours, but I have no intention to use them as true waterproof boots. I have other more dedicated North Face runners/boots for hiking proposes. I can't comment on the insulation or the ice traction as I purchased these in summer and am waiting to use them for cold weather. Overall, I would recommend these boots for casual cold-weather use only since.

It definitely runs a half size up. The sides tongue of the boot are stiff and thick and push against the outer bone side of lower shins. Other than that, I'd say the material is quite nice and would be more comfortable if it fit.

I wore these like any other outdoor boots I've bought. They look nice but wear out really quickly. The laces on both of my boots were frayed by the time the season was over. Although I still have th boots I has to switch laces.

My 18 year old son wore these for one week and the leather looks like it's already completely weathered. It must be poor quality top grain leather. I'm completely disappointed with the quality of the leather, otherwise, the look and fit are great

Very surprised and let down by the lack of durability and general quality of the sole of this boot. The rubber on the heel separated from what could be described as a cheap foam filler. Rubber on heel area wore through to the lower foam layer within a couple months.

I live in the Sierras and depend on a quality boot to keep my feet dry during the winter. This is not that boot. My feet are always wet, even after just a 5 minute walk in the snow.

The boots are bad quality. There's a manufacturer defect, the soles take off and the customer service is not efficient. Will switch of branch.

These are simply the worst boots ive ever owned. they look nice and thats about it. I read the other reviews and I thought to myself, well these people clearly have the wrong size or big feet or are just too dumb to get boots on their feet. i got the boots anyways. guess what? they are impossible to get on. theres no loop on the back to help them over your heel. i kicked myself in the shin trying to get them off. i have to completely unlace the whole boot every time to get them open enough to remotely slide my feet in. after a week of daily use, i thought the leather might give a bit to make them more accessible. not even close. really just a terrible design and please heed the others warnings about the difficulty of getting them on and taking them off. i wish i did.

I needed waterproof boots since it rains all the time here. These are certainly not the boots I was looking for - expect wet socks if you happen to step into a small puddle. They are comfy though and I like them otherwise

MEN'S BRIDGETON CHUKKA is not waterproof my feet got soaked walking in damp grass. After five months the sole has separated from the boot heel. North Face also did not post or deleted my first review which was extensive. Don't waste your money and the claims department is difficult to work with and not worth the time for the cost of the boot. I just decide to write the off as a learning experience.

Everything about this boot is great...except it's not waterproof. Even light rain or damp ground gave me wet socks.

I bought North Face Bridgeton Chukka because of the styling but mostly because they are advertised as waterproof. Received the boots as promised, basic ground shipping. I bought a full size smaller than what my feet measure based one some of the reviews I read elsewhere, the 11D fit my size 12D foot fine. After the first day of wearing them I had to do something about the terrible inserts. I pulled out the Red Wing insert from my work boots and installed them is these boots. I wore them the next day, huge upgrade in comfort and foot support. Now the big test, how will they hold up as everyday ranch wear. Walked through wet grass for about an hour and my feet were soaked. Maybe it was just too wet so the next day I stayed out of the grass but it was sprinkling but not enough to get me soaked. After about an hour my feet were wet again. Bottom line, the only way these boots are waterproof is if you don't get them wet. Throw the insert in the trash and buy some good ones. Very disappointed and will contact Zappos about returning them.

Shoe was warm, but couldn't last two weeks in Chicago winter. I am very disappointed with it. The toe is already starting to get water damage and has not even seen much snow. Overall the shoe looked good when first out of the box but the appearance did not last.
