I loved this bag and really wanted to keep it, but ended up sending it back. I found that when you used one strap and wore it over your shoulder, all the contents inside fell forward and the bottom of the purse ended up touching you. It was lopsided. The leather is so soft and it really it a beautiful backpack, but just not the one for me.

Leather is beautiful and soft. I didn’t give it five stars because I wish it had more pockets. Feel like I spend too much time digging around looking for stuff. Also bigger than I thought it would be.

I’ve been on the hunt for a pack bag for a while and this is absolutely perfect! I am pretty paired down in the “stuff” department but since COVID hit I’ve found a need for a bigger bag that offers plenty of room for a wallet, glasses, sunglasses, 20 face masks, a medium sized bottle of hand sanitizer and keys. There’s even a smart pocket for your phone on the back so it doesn’t get lost. I love the handle at the top so you can grab and go without stuff falling out. It also sits pretty straight when you set it down so again, keeps your goods in the bag. Great design. Soft leather, which Hobo is known for. Highly recommend the River. The blue is dreamy!

The size is perfect and fits just the right amount and because of that I feel like it isn’t heavy and hurts my shoulders like other backpack purses I’ve tried in the past. The leather and quality of it is beautiful and I can tell that it will last me. My only issue with It is the zipper pulls or attachments clang together and make noise as I walk. Also, it’s difficult to get in and out of without having to set it down on a counter or surface. Otherwise I love the blue color and look of this bag.

this bag is very cute, super soft leather but for everyday stuff, it was a bit small for all my items, I like to have my ipad and a planner with me. this would be a great bag for going out and smaller items.

I can't say enough about my satisfaction w shopping thru Zappos. Easy to navigate, great selections & good prices, even when compared to the specific vendor. This Hobo backpack was a disappointment for the price. The whiskey leather color was as pictured. I'm 5'4". The size was too large for me. Ultimately,I returned it because of the near $300 price. I'm a loyal Zappos shopper & will try again.

Beautiful leather and nice sized bag (not too big, not too small). It holds everything for day to day and lets me keep my hands free.

this is a cute bag, kinda small for me, but if you were doing some event , it would be great to keep your hands free. love the leather, its so soft.

This backpack is cute but the straps are not adjustable enough. I, suspect that I received a used item since the dusting was torn and there were no tags.

If you are looking for a stylish, supple, extremely durable bag, this is it. It is a good investment in a bag that holds a ton without looking over stuffed. I call this my “Mary Poppins Bag”. I can carry what I need and there always seems to be room for one more thing. The leather is so buttery and soft. The bag looks luxe. It looks expensive and stylish but is easily carried into a theme park or on a hike. The lack of structure makes it a second skin. I have been looking for a leather backpack like this for SO long! I love it. I will carry it forever. It does lack pockets. It has just one internal pocket. But I had a pocket on the back for quick access items. I use a small pouch/make up bag to keep item’s organized. If you are on the fence about this bag, do it. It’s worth the investment. You will use it on repeat.

This is such a classic. It’s absolutely perfect if you want a utilitarian, timeless leather piece that will last for years. The leather is so luxe. Soft and buttery and supple. The bag holds enormous amounts and still doesn’t look stuffed. The hardware details only add to the minimalist vibe. The zipper pulls are heavy and smoothly engage and disengage the zipper. This is the leather backpack I have been looking for my entire life. I absolutely love it. It’s an a worthwhile investment in a leather piece that is extremely rugged and useful for day to day living while keeping just a hint of edgy cool in place. Can’t beat that. I love this bag so much. It’s perfect.
