I love the look of this boot but recommend ordering a half a size up from your normal size. I have gotten a few blisters from the back of the boot rubbing against the back of my foot.

They are just as beautiful in real life they were very hard to get on with socks (I ordered a half size larger per other comments). The heel soles have nonskid rubber in just the back of the heel, and a very slippery portion on the front of the heel.

I think these are beautiful boots and I so wanted them to be perfect. I would have worn them with leggings and dresses. I have a high arch and I ordered up half a size and they were still nearly impossible to get on. Once on, they were fine, but I knew I wouldn't wear them often because of the struggle to get them on. I could also tell that these had been returned (probably for the same reason I did) because the inside leather, where your fingers touch when pulling them on, was starting to detach. I will keep looking for the perfect engineer boot. In the meantime I bought two pairs of Doc Martens for the same price as these.

The fit was narrow and tight, but I think with wear they would be perfect. HOWEVER, the heel was quite loose (I have other Fryes that are sort of loose in the heel, but this felt too loose in the heel from the first time I put them on). The style, however, was what really didn't suit me. The opening around my ankle/calf is really wide and swimming. Just a little too loose and open looking, and I have pretty average legs/calves. So, I'm returning, but will be looking for another Frye boot, or some other short boot.

The boot had such a strong chemical odor I could not keep them.

I needed a size larger than my usual 8 - 8.5 (a 9 fit) but had to return the boots because the leather part of the heel took up gravel and developed little craters in the sole of the heel on my first walk around the neighborhood. It looks like with repeated wearing it might disintegrate altogether. I am disappointed because I otherwise like the boots.

These boots are very cute and great quality. The brown leather looks very rich. They just didn't fit quite right. The heel slips terribly, even after trying with different sock thicknesses and insoles. I really like the boots but can't keep them with the way the heel slips. Too bad!
